I use the FME Platform primarily for manipulating data, especially with keys and geographical content, in my work in the road sector. The layout of the workflows in FME Platform could be more compact. When I have a large ETL workflow for pure data transformation without keys, I find Apache Hub creates a better workflow layout. It looks nicer and is more compact, making the workflows easier to manage. I wish FME offered an easier way to do mock-ups and reuse them. Also, I'd like a developer license for FME Flow to experiment locally without relying on the company's license. This would help prepare and upload workflows more efficiently. At times, it’s difficult to take advantage of product improvements and bug fixes when running FME Flow, especially when you can’t easily upgrade to the version that includes them. I love FME Platform's interface and how easy it is to find transformers just by typing the first few letters. The fact that it works with so many different file formats is great because it allows us to do processing on one platform, avoiding the need for multiple systems. I like the ease of use and flexibility of the FME Platform. There are a lot of different ways to achieve things, with both conventional and unconventional approaches. I appreciate the ability to read and write to over 500 different data types, which is valuable for working in an engineering firm where different tools and data formats are used. The first thing I would like to mention is that, in the high-pressure environment of airline scheduling, I don't have time to write code. FME form's drag-and-drop interface allows me to build complex data workflows, connecting flight times with gate availability, overall the process is quick and visual. Secondly, the compatibility of formats, five hundred plus formats are supported, so me and my team can pull data from any source without worrying about compatibility. Thirdly, we automate the syncronization of flight schedules using FME Flow. It updates out internal board and if it fails, it emails me immediatelt so we can control operations. And lastly, I personally like the AttributeManager tool for scheeming data from various partners, that would fit into our central scheduling database schema. I find it frustrating when a simple typo in a file path causes fatal error that stops a critical data translation entirely. Also, when managing global operations, I don't like that some web connections that expire every four hours. This creates manual works that should be fully automated.
