Windward Studios Template Designer (AutoTag) is the most user-friendly report automation tool I've worked with so far. They integrated a robust UI into Microsoft Word making every step of the process straight forward. Windward Studios support team is responsive and will help you step by step if need be. Their developers have also been very responsive to small points we raised during the implementation of their Java Engine, which they solved shorty. I like the convenience of editing customer communications using MS Office tools like Word and Excel. Almost every employee, if not all, knows how to use at least Word or Excel and this gives a clear advantage as we don't need to spend much on training and extra licenses. I can say that the advantage is also it's disadvantage. Because we're stuck with using the MS Suite, we are limited with its capabilities. In some cases, we would require the use of a more professional communication design tool like Adobe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like it that you can "program" in windward, i am a front-end developer so i am familiar with if, else and for each statements. I also like the complexity that you can do with Windward our documents are sometimes very complex but with the Windward software we always can make a way to make ik happen. Sometimes debugging for errors can be hard to find, the logs don't always show where the error is.

It's very easy to use, It doesn't have a very steep learning curve. It's not difficult, for people who know Microsoft Office well, to start using the AutoTag tool.
