## Flinto Reviews
  ### 1. Easy to use design tool for creating high-fidelity prototypes with complex animations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yefan W. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

Easy to create complex animations and interactions

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

high pricing point and doesn't have a browser-based interface

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intuive to learn and use the tool, building the prototype is fast, and also poweful to create animations and interactions.

  ### 2. It Makes Animation fun, and Quick

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria G. | Product Designer, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

It's great for mocking up effects like animations, transitions without the issues of a very heavy program like after effects. I think performance wise, Flinto is great and allows me to incorporate animations and effects into my designs without affecting the overall performance on my system.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

When I first started using it, I was still struggling to understand all the tools. I think there is a better way to onboard a user, perhaps adding some visual cues that notify or emphasize on what tools do what.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

It's a great solution if you're looking to make quick animations or present specific types of effects for components or interactions.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I am handing off my designs to development, often times - our prototyping tool does not have animating capabilities. I utilize flinto to create those animations and share it with the team so it communicates visually what I am looking to implement.

  ### 3. Quick Moving prototypes for Mobile App Development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan M. | Director of Engineering, Medical Devices, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

Flinto allows you to prototype workflows on digital applications seamlessly. It integrates with Sketch, so all your artboards are linked up automagically and you can start prototyping animations, tranistions, and click-paths. It speeds up the design iteration process tremendously.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

Sometimes it is not as intuitive as I would like. The learning curve is pretty steep. I was on YouTube and watching tutorials a ton until I got the hang of it and even still will have to go back to tutorials and help pages.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

There are a ton of other competitors out there, but this is the best one I have found from a cost and functionality perspective. It is worth trying the free trial out to see if you like what you can build on it.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving money on actually building working code prototypes to see how design features work. We can move through ideas and iterations without putting in the engineering hours.

  ### 4. Great software to simulate animation

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fine Art | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

I love the capabilities of animation for our prototypes. intuitive once you get the hang of it, Free-form animation has its good and bad qualities. Good Qualities being that pretty much any animation style you would like to add to your experience can be done, scrolling, sticky states, spinny icons. the new updated version now allows you to edit text and create additional UI to fill any gabs you come your by whilst connecting your screens.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

the software is still going through some growing pains it seems. it's not exactly "user-friendly" I wish the "live Preview" was more flexible as far as adjusting screen size, I have had issues when using smaller screens to test prototypes the preview state was not flexible and could not be zoomed in on or adjusted. often times "hover states" get wonky when there are multiple behaviors happening in one zone. sometimes when I add additional content to an art board after behaviors have been added, all of my visuals get wonky and warped into different parts of the page, this is incredibly annoying because I keep having to redo my animations and fix placements. It crashes on me when I have too much animations going on in one page.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

Take the time to watch ALL tutorials. They will most likely not give you exactly what you are trying to achieve, However it will give you the tools to be able to improvise and figure things out as you go.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are creating prototypes for our companies sothebys website redesign. clients love animations so it allows us to sell our ideas a lot more efficiently. by " be-dazzling" our prototypes

  ### 5. A pretty solid app

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam M. | ui/ux designer, web & graphic designer, and digital media generalist, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2017

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

The app is quick and stable, and it's easy to use with a simple interface. I like that it has dynamic panels in the design interface.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

This app has fewer options and capabilities than its competitors. The lack of graphical design tools is a particular problem. It also can't import files from other apps like Sketch, which presents a problem when working in a mixed environment or with other designers.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

It's a simple and easy app to use for rapid prototyping, but you may wish to consider InVision or Sketch for a more complete solution.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to for rapid prototyping simple mobile interface designs. It's a quick and easy app to use.

  ### 6. Great for Previewing Apps

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2017

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

It has an easy to use format. It's very easy to learn how to use when first using the product. The main draw to Flinto is being able to prototype an app without actually coding the app by ourselves. When I used the product, I was in a small group of New Media students designing an app for an academics based project. It was key to use Flinto as a way to show exactly what we wanted in terms of app animation, menu flow, user interaction, etc. Since we used it back in 2015, it looks like Flinto has had quite a bit added to it and may have features that were not readily available back in 2015.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

Subscription based for Flinto Lite. Depending on the project, the price can seem a bit if you're working alone or are purchasing the product to just mess around. We came across a bug or two here and there, but ultimately it did not affect our experience with the product and we were able to do prototype testing with success.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

Make sure you have all your assets ready if you're considering starting with the free trial. Essentially for my team, when we used this product we had all the photoshop and illustrator files ready to input into the software. For us, we worked on student accounts and had free versions of Flinto used for academic purposes, but keep in mind the subscription costs when using Flinto.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When creating a test app for a New Media project, we were able to show how the interface would look to programmers we were working with. Ultimately, I think it helps bridge design people and programming people when it comes to developing apps. You can show almost exactly how an app would work and it's a great step after doing an app flowchart.

  ### 7. The best interaction design tool I've used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2017

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

Making transitions and animations is extremely easy. Much better than

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

It doesn't link up with Invision, unfortunately. But it is extremely easy to create content with.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

It's pretty cheap, but I would keep an eye out for Invision Studio which seems like it'll be Sketch + Flinto all in one.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flinto allows me to visualize my interaction ideas for websites, apps, programs without needing code.

  ### 8. Prototyping made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

No complex timelines or key frames, simple mapped interactions to artboards

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

Some limited functionality compared to other prototyping tools, low quality animations

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To demonstrate quick interaction flows

  ### 9. Simple Way to Animate

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryttni W. | UI/UX Designer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

I really enjoy the ease of usability. Animations are no simple task, especially when it's not something you do constantly for your work. I jumped right into the product knowing nothing and was able to complete a really well done animation for a mobile app design in a few hours.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

The Sketch import is a great feature, but it can get a little cumbersome. The export options for animations is a little disappointing as well. I couldn't successfully export a higher resolution GIF.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

Give yourself a day or two to really familiarize yourself with the product. I was lucky enough to have an employer that welcomed learning new tools, so they set time aside for that. There's nothing like being able to practice on your own time without the deadline of a project hindering your education.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a way to show the developers the animations we (as designers) were thinking of in our head. We'd usually succumb to Dribbble shots that (hopefully) showed off what we were trying to explain, only to end up giving in to the lack of software and doing whatever someone on Dribbble already did. With Flinto, we were able to quickly put together animations that were original and effective.

  ### 10. Best prototyping tool when it comes to mocking up flows and interactions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian M. | Senior UX Designer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

The ability to quickly mock up multiple screens and create one app prototype is superb! The new behavior designer makes it so easy to create interactions for UI patterns.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

So many bugs! Not sure why but I feel like most products these days are unstable than the past few years. Maybe the team is saving on QA to test based on user feedback? If bugs were all fixed then I would give it a 10/10.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

Flinto is awesome when you want to quickly create a prototype hands down! I would strongly recommend this over other prototyping tools such as Framer, Principle, Invision and the list goes on. As a designer that has experience with all of these tools, I feel like Flinto is the strongest and fastest.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly mocking up prototypes before development. You save money and time by testing your apps out before actual development.

  ### 11. Very good but need more

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** José G. | Web Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

I like it because it behaves very well within the range of platforms for prototyping. Good transitions, easy to use, really very nice.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

I do not like that there is a Windows version. I wish there were more opportunities to learn the different variants in animation that offer, more material this style would be amazing.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

Keep working on teaching materials for users, creating new alternatives linked to material design, go very well, I love flinto but still can improve a lot more.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me a lot to show the customer a more realistic version of the application design I'm doing. It is also an amazing guide for developers.

  ### 12. its awesome

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay B. | Business Analyst Intern, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2017

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

the best prototyping tool I have used for easy and quick prototyping

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

we cannot create layers and other complex prototyping toolset that we can in other softwares

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

prototyping

  ### 13. Amazing and simple!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darian R. | Senior Designer Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

I spent one evening with Flinto, from start to finish, and I went from zero to complete prototype that wowed my clients!

I have tried MANY many many many... prototyping workflows and products and services. Ideally, you need to be flexible to have a couple under your belt because some work better on a device versus desktop. I used the Flinto app to import my Sketch design and animated the transitions from slide to slide so easy, I kept telling myself that this is too good to be true. But it wasn't!

If you need to show a prototype on a device such as an iPad or iPhone, this is definitely something to consider!

For rapid prototyping, this is probably the best option for you just based on the speed with which you can accomplish what you want and get client feedback.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

It crashes more than you want it to, but less than others.

I wish that there was some more fine grained control over animation, but that is more of a fringe case. The more you use it the more you wish it could do, but honestly I believe the app is very good at what it does without trying to do too much.

I wish we could integrate with some more advanced functionality to add Json data to our apps to at least display sample data.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

Invision

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid prototyping, wire framing, client approval of wireframes

  ### 14. Flinto - Great as a Web tool, but Amazing on Desktop

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sheila C. | Senior Interaction Designer (Contractor), Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

Flinto was my go-to tool when it was just available online. Now, it's even better as a native OSX application. Best features: wide variety of transitions, almost zero learning curve, great support for previewing prototypes on a mobile device, and support for sharing links to prototypes online.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

I design in point sizes, but Flinto's iPhone 6 preset defaults to 2X pixels, which means I have been doubling the size of all of my assets. I would also love support for default iOS widgets, like toggles. Being able to include variables would also be great.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

Great tool to get up-and-running really quickly.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a product designer / interaction designer, so Flinto is a fantastic way to quickly turn visual mockups into something interactive. It is the quickest images-to-interactive-prototype method I have come across. It's also convenient because it's easy to make changes, and share prototypes with other people. Benefits include quick user feedback, concept validation, and communicating design ideas.

  ### 15. Flinto

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2017

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

Flinto is really great tool for prototyping and wireframing. I really the amount of features available in tool.Sharing is really easy and the animations are interactive and brings life to visual concepts.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

I feel like there should more tutorials available on how to use certain features and options available in this tool. There should be some tutorials on the website.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

Yes Flinto is one of easy User Interface tool I have used for wireframing and prototyping for apps,

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating wireframing and prototyping for spps.

  ### 16. Super fast and efficient prototyping tool for iOS apps

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nate G. | Manager, User Experience Design, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

I can quickly pull in wireframes from Sketch or Illustrator, create a prototype, and then have others in company quickly test on their iOS devices.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

It crashes for unknown reasons at times, but the developers are constantly fixing and updating the software.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

I've researched and tested several prototyping tools but the speed and easy of use of Flinto has is made it stand above the crowd.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The sooner we can get wireframes and game systems prototyped the faster our company can tweak and improve the overall user experience or our products.

  ### 17. Very Nice and Easy to Use Mobile Prototyping Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex T. | Senior UI/UX Designer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

Easy to use.
First, User Interface makes you feel that this is another Sketch, which I use on daily basis.
The Navigation is very clean and the good part of it it doesn't have too many tools, which will make the software more complicated and less useful.
I also like the speed of the software. It seams to be very light weight.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

Although, Flinto has a super clean UI and the product is easy to use, it has some issues as well.
The most important one to me is transition between different screens, where you have to change the transparency, overlay on top of each other, change the position, etc.
This makes me feel it is another Keynote

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mobile app prototyping to present clients and developers.

  ### 18. Fast and intuitive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dario Mario B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

It's easy to trace the flow of a many-screen app with all of its transitions and interactions. Is intuitive, remembering animations on objects and applying the same animations on similar objects on other screens.
3D transformations.
Transition tags allow animations to be reused across screens
Uses artboards like Sketch
Built-in gestures: Tap, double tap, long tap, swipe, touch down

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

One thing I found little good, is not being able to import items from Photoshop, which can reveal themselves very useful in the design. Another thing I have negative and that instead I would be useful is: no animation export value, making it difficult to share specs with developers.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating an interactive layout and that it is not static, for a private application.

  ### 19. Good prototyping, excellent to test interactions

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Riccardo P. | Product Designer, Design, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

I use Flinto to test interaction on my prototypes.
The way the user can easily create transitions, action buttons and animations makes faster the design process of an app. Compare with other tools like Principle, Flinto for Mac allows to prototype complex behaviours through an intuitive UI of native Mac OSX elements.
Best feature is the possibility to "reverse" the transition, the live preview and the Sketch plug in that export directly in layers.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

Prototype sharing system. You need to have flinto installed on the mac you want to show your work. This way makes impossible to share a prototype with an external client.
The preview generated when play with transitions is sometimes kinda different from the final result.

  ### 20. Easy to Learn

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

It's easy to learn the interface, it's pretty straightforward to use. I like the mirroring as well for quick presentations. Sketch import. Great with handling a lot of screens, especially if you're just doing state to state.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

Not much really, I just like how more granular I could get with animation values with Principle.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly showing and presenting flows to stakeholders. Having an interactive prototype really helps with telling the story.

  ### 21. Great for connecting screens

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristaps R. | User Experience Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

So far this is the best online prototyping tools that allows visual linking of the screes together. It was super quick to set up the user journey and the learning curve was tiny.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

The rest of the functionality was quite confusing, required to focus a lot to understand how to work with it and utilise the full power of flinto. This was also the reason why i have given up.

Linking togheter lots of screens and incorporating logic, was harder to crack so eventually I gave up and presented bits and pieces of app.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Was super helpful when low fi and hi fi wireframes were made. Also ideal for simulating specific areas of "complete" apps.

  ### 22. Direct approach to software prototyping

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taras B. | Founder, UX designer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

- A UI familiar to any Sketch user
- Mobile companion app
- Easy import from Sketch

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

The app looks simple at first, but don't let that fool you.
Even with a few screens the prototype's complexity raises fast, so you'll have serious problems trying to debug it. This approach is quite straightforward and inelegant, but it may work for some basic apps.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

Try the demo and see if it fits your workflow.

  ### 23. Fast and Flexible (to a certain extent)

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

I like is the Transition Designer. It gives you a lot of possibility and flexibility of using different transitions. Moreover you create nice prototypes in almost no time.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

Sketch plug-in. One of the most things that I hate the most is that realizing a tiny mistake once I have done the prototyping and going back to Illustrator (or Sketch) and re-exporting the corrected version. So, when the files are synced automatically, I am as happy as a clam. However this functionality does not work properly in Flinto.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have not really understood this question.

  ### 24. Like Keynote, But With More Flare

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

I like that is a prototyping tool with layers and has the ease of use like a presentation tool such as Keynote. I can also easily share prototypes with others.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

It does lack a few features compared to apps like Principle or Pixate.

**Recommendations to others considering Flinto:**

If you're already familiar with Keynote, Invision, or Principle, check out Flinto.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The user flow and strategy are problems we are solving. Also, transitions from one screen to the next. Flinto has some great options for showcasing these.

  ### 25. Easy to use Prototyping tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patric S. | Interactiondesigner, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

Easy to use with Sketch App and mobile Prototypes for clients. Its really easy to create even difficult transitions and animations.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

By now its not possible to do scroll related animations.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast easy Prototyping for web and mobile apps

  ### 26. Standard

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2016

**What do you like best about Flinto?**

The ability to set screens to a timer is a very useful feature.

**What do you dislike about Flinto?**

Lack of updates and communication with the user base.

**What problems is Flinto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was primarily using flinto as a tool to create a user flow and test that flow against business requirements with users as well as gather feedback.
