## Flickr Reviews
 ### 1. flicker photo share

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shiva Kumar P. | Sr DevOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

the best platform to share and show up our creativity to fellow flicker users.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Flickr once had a vibrant photography community, but it's no longer as active or influential.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Acts as a cloud backup for personal photo collections or professional portfolios

 ### 2. *It was* A good old friend you can trust with your photos

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikolina M. | SEO, WordPress & Content Marketing Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

The best feature Flicker has is allowing the image owner to choose the licence for sharing the image. Everyone can see it, but you don't risk ending up published on some blog.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

The recent changes had hidden many functionalities that were previously free behind a paywall that didn't exist at all. On the upside, the extra cash has brought improvements in design and ease of use.
The paywall I mentioned some time ago seems to have gotten worse. Flickr was many people's favourite place to share and collect images - now it's a hurdle race.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Flickr personally and professionally. Personally for sharing my work, and professionally for sourcing photos that are typically difficult to find elsewhere.
This second option has become impossible, but I'm not deleting it. Instead, I want others to see it as a part of the history.

 ### 3. A thing before instagram

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chiranth J. | Sales Head, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Flickr apparently happened to be the first Instagram the world had seen. Integrated with the old Nokia 5233 phones. Flickr was one of the well-renowned social media platforms in the early '20s

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

The audience on Flickr is very authentic and most of the users migrated to using Instagram since it was launched in 2010 and Flickr took a hit for its monotonous service compared to instagram.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flickr not being able to solve the problem of engagement turned out to be a big problem for Flickr which could not withstand competition from its competitors who arrived in the market lately. They always had to solve for engagement and even today Flickr needs to solve for engagement considering the introduction of events.

 ### 4. More suited for professionals

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria H. | Global Talent, E-Learning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Flickr has a vast collection of photos taken by talented photographers; this makes it easy to find pictures of just about anything your heart desires. Flickr stands out among its competitors because it's been around for so long, not for its functionality.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

The uploading tool needs help, I could only upload one photo at a time, and the drag-and-drop tool didn't work for me. Flickr lacks editing functionality, maybe the pro account has a better tool.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flickr is a well-known photo and video hosting website; I don't feel I benefit from it since it seems more suited for photographers. It is a place where I can share experiences, tag people and tell stories. I wish the free account had more functionality.

 ### 5. Flickr is a nice app for photo sharing without compromising on photo quality

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammad A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Flickr has many plus point. It has a huge commmunity with creative common lisencing, allowing sharing of work while maintaining some control over how others can use it. It also has a group feature, which helps finding like-minded people very easy

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Flickr is getting outdated, with the UI not getting updated frequesntly and it is slowly losing popularity. Also, the editing tools are limited and it is missing advanced features.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flickr has given me a platform to share my work, and to connect with like-minded people. This helps me get some valuable feedback which I can use for more constructive work.

 ### 6. Flickr is okay to store photos.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammed M. M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

I liked how I could upload unlimited photos and have them available for public or private view.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Flickr removed the unlimited plan and started charging more for photo storage. I was not too fond of the price increase, so I moved away from their paid plan and opted for their free plan. The free plan has significantly less storage space which I did not like.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flickr made photo storing and sharing very easy and seemless. I also liked how others could search photos that I classify as free-use creative commons so others could freely use my images.

 ### 7. A Good Photo-Sharing Site

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa B. | Development & Communications Clerk, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Flickr is likely the most premium photo-sharing website I've seen. It is comprehensive and makes it easy to upload photos. You can put them in albums, categorize, tag them, etc.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Flickr's search tool could use some improvement. I often find it difficult to find specific users if I'm looking for them, or finding photos on specific topics.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flickr is a great option for photo storage, whether personal or professional. It's a great way to display your photography, and it also allows for easy control over your rights.

 ### 8. Great for sharing photos in lieu of social media

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Inspector O. | Private Health Inspector, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Photos shared by photo booths such as at my local park are accessible indefinitely online and I can just bookmark the photo page to my Google account.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Very difficult or impossible to download photos in full resolution.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create galleries of photos that other people share without having copyright issues.

 ### 9. Flickr review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anjali G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

I like Flickr services. It provides me to share my images with my family and all over the world. its provide me more incurage to captume more photos and upload

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Yes, I dislike this because of the Flickr photo's price in comparison to other photo services. So This is the main reason to dislike flicker services. We have to work on it

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flickr resolved lots of problems like I shared my photos all over the world. Every time people comment on my photos. And its encourage capturing more photos and upload

 ### 10. The never ageing Picture tool

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kunle D. | Project Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Compared to other photo sharing apps and websites, the photos on the website are more personal.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

It has not aged well. I have known about the website for years and it still feels the same (which sometimes is not a good thing)

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever I make videos, I can look to Flickr for inspiration on the types of images to download

 ### 11. Flickr - Not what it used to be.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Flickr is great for backing up full-size JPG versions of your original images and for API access from various other apps/sites. Being able to control public/private access is a bonus.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Pro version has gotten quite expensive, for not much return on investment. It used to be a lively community with helpful people, but has unfortunately filled up with a lot of junk and spammy users. Groups are so large work rarely gets seen or becomes repetitive.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use Flickr's API to integrate with other image tools, particularly feeding my portfolio to Pixsy for infringement resolution.

 ### 12. Decent Photo backup & sharing platform, used to be better.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

It is easy to use and share photos. Great way to back up digital photos if you can afford their pro plan. Has decent sharing options.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Being limited to 1000 photos on the free plan is limiting. They used to give you much much more before monetizing the platform.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is great for organizing and sharing albums of photo's.

 ### 13. Creativity - mind opening

I feel that I get tons more options for inspo than other sites, or even pintrest.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

For me, on either my phone, personal macbook or work chromebook It seems to lag on any wifi.

They're providing online photo storage with the option to purchase prints.

Good site for photo storage and online sharing of large file size photos

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

lots of clickbait and possible security issues

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flickr solves the issue of trying to email large files of photos or drop box photo files

 ### 18. Essentially a sister app of Vimeo

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Finding and accessing videos and multimedia items on the platform.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

It helps me find relatable material for my projects that other sites do not.

 ### 19. Good platform for photo sharing

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

It didn't have a great interface when I was using it.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was great for finding stock images and also sharing my own.

 ### 20. Good for amateur photographers and for personal photos

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reema D. | Owner/photographer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

I like that Flickr is a straighforward photo storage system. I've had both the pro and free version, and thought they were both very good especially for hobbyist photographers. There are groups available that can be helpful in terms of photography advice but also for getting your work out there. It's also a great tool if you want to find new photographers, and see new work. There is definitely more of a community aspect to Flickr versus other photo sharing sites. It's also very easy to use, and get started. You can create albums, galleries, etc. relatively quickly and easily.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

I am no longer a hobbyist (been a pro for six years), so I do find some features limiting. I also do not feel like I could use Flickr to share images with clients. I don't believe Flickr is the industry standard in photo sharing, so I would use a more professional program for that purpose. I don't really feel like they've done much to update their user experience either. It's honestly looked pretty much the same for the last ten years which doesn't really make them competitive when it comes to other similar softwares.

**Recommendations to others considering Flickr:**

If you are a hobbyist photographer, it's a great free option. I would recommend something like Dropbox, though, for longer-term use. If you're a professional looking for a seperate system to manage your personal images, it would be a good option too. Overall though, I don't see Flickr innovating or adding new features very often so keep that in mind if that is something that is important to you.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main benefit of Flickr for me is storing personal images. I do like that there is no deactivation of accounts, so I have a fantastic catalog of photos to look back on. Some are nearly 15 years old. I do believe other programs or sites would have deleted or deactivated accounts. I also think the groups and community on Flickr is really helpful. Have a question about a camera issue? There's dozens of groups dedicated to helping other users troubleshoot any issues that may arise. There are also some fun challanges in groups. For example, a weekly challenge may be to photograph something in the wild. Those prompts are really helpful for flexing creative muscles, and forcing yourself to get out there and shoot.

 ### 21. Niche tool that does its job well

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Flicker is a staple name for high quality images and photography. It has tapped into the "social media" aspect more which has extended its shelf life in these recent years.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Clunky at times and the search engine functionality could be much more seamless. The tiered system also limits free users. It would also be helpful to increase the levels of available integrations.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding high quality images and photographs, identifying talented individuals and following their work over time, and accessing material that can be used in media.

 ### 22. Overall, simple platform and okay use

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

I like that it is generally easy to navigate and user friendly

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

There is not as much complexity to the system to allow for additional features

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Photo sharing in an easy to access way for multiple users.

 ### 23. Flickr is a Great Platform that Missed It's Opportunity

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Flickr has always been a great way to share and archive photos. Since the start, Flickr's stated goal was to be a digital photo gallery for photographers, enthusiasts and professional. They pretty much inspired the clean and responsive grid system that most galleries and photo platforms, including Instagram, have embraced. Uploads are easy, and you can organize photos fairly easily into galleries.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Flickr missed it's moment and is no longer the go-to destination for the best photos on the web, nor is it a useful option for photographers to share their work. Flickr is missing the social functionality and cultural embrace of Instagram, yet it's also missing the high end pedigree of similar services like 500px. And it can't hold a candle to the archival and search capabilities of Google Photos. It's not so much that there is anything inherently wrong with Flickr, so much as it doesn't stand up to the competition in any one area, and it loses it's value as a result.

**Recommendations to others considering Flickr:**

I used to LOVE Flickr, but as mentioned in my review, it's no longer the best at anything it tries to do, and it feels like a forgotten service tucked away in a corner of the net that nobody visits anymore. I suggest Google Drive or Dropbox for professional storage, as the unlimited options are great and access and storage is better, with syncing and better file structures. Flickr is a good option for the casual photographer looking for a small backup (1TB) for free. For anything social or for which you need reach, use Instagram. And to present a professional portfolio, use Squarespace.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At this point I use Flickr as a creative reference resource and stock image source. I have used Flickr over the years to present galleries, to create randomized galleries that work as background pages on websites, to archive my photos, to source reference images for creative projects and to source stock imagery.

I also still have a large number of photos from early in my career archived with Flickr, and it is certainly a benefit to me that I have been able to leave my photos archived on their servers without fear of losing them. I'm still waiting to see if Flickr returns to form to compete with Google and Instagram, as I loved what the platform once was, but it's use for business has become increasingly limited.

 ### 24. Works fine, but interface is bizarre.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

For fairly quick photo uploads, this is a fine tool. I also like how it can create a slideshow out of all the photos in an album. The feature of having several different sizes of images for sharing is also very helpful for our platform.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

The interface is often very counter-intuitive and not very user-friendly. Uploading photos is not difficult, but the process could be simplified. What's most annoying about the platform is how the photos are organized once they're uploaded. It's difficult to find past photos without knowing exactly what the album is called, and if you have several team members using the platform, it can be very difficult to locate whole albums or single photos.

**Recommendations to others considering Flickr:**

Keep track of everything you've uploaded. Sometimes tracking a photo or album can be tricky if you can't remember what it was called.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick uploading! For hosting on a third-party site, it makes it easy to get photos up quickly and mostly without effort. I also appreciate having the slideshows for our website.

 ### 25. Easy to use but not the most visually situmating.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Ease of use. Folder/File Systems are well organized and easy to access.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

To the millennial eye, this just isn’t very appealing. But that is hardly a reason not to use this option. Just being picky at this point.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick uploads of many corporate events into one place over many users. A place to file all photos regardless the employee or volunteer.

 ### 26. Basic, Easy Image Hosting

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chelsea P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Ease of use and search, and storage capabilties.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Fairly basic, not the most advanced system, could be better integrated with other platforms.

**Recommendations to others considering Flickr:**

Better integration with sites like WordPress and the Google Suite would be amazing!

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy photo sharing and cheap storage.

 ### 27. Flicker fun photos

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Flickr is great for editing, taking, making adjustments and doing fun things to photos. Its multitude and highly simple for anyone of any age.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

I have not really found much I have not like about the app. It does sometimes freeze but that's happens very rarely

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives the benefits of being able to take photos and have certain filters make adjustment. It benefits by giving options

 ### 28. I have had bigger

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

I like that they have updated their website, but it's hard to find details about how to set up photos or what they look like. I just see big pictures that they have picked.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

It's hard to scroll through when it takes so long to load in between photos. My photo storage for free is limited. I wish it was more. I hate that it's connected to Yahoo, too. I barely use Yahoo.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a nice place to store photos. I don't really have any benefits honestly. I've migrated to other products. NOw that it's going through a merger with SmugMug. I won't really go to it since I'm not quite familiar with it.

 ### 29. A great platform for photographers

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Flickr is one of the best ways to share your work as a photographer, when in search of some quality material/work it is a safe value.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

The interaction between users isn't the best if you want to have a personal chat with others through Flickr itself.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great way to see the work of photographers andget to know their style in a deeper way.

 ### 30. Flickr

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Like google images more as already linked to my gmail

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 ### 31. Review of Flickr

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

I like how easy flickr is to use, and the quality of product

Benefits are an easy to use system.

 ### 32. Great way to showcase pics

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2017

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

where I work, we use it to showcase all our photographers images throughout the year after photoshoots. Also allows others to view easily.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

It is very hard to find some images if they aren't labeled correctly. We have THOUSANDS of images and if you are looking for just one specific one it will be like searching a needle in a haystack.

**Recommendations to others considering Flickr:**

It's ok. Put other products are easier to use.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this for all our photogs to upload images and share with the public. Fast and easy for them to do so.

 ### 33. For me it`s ok

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

let's say it is a platform that as a user is simple and pleasant. It does not complicate your life very much, which is very good. the size of the photo is maintained and the automation of the saving is a pro.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

it does not allow you to customize anything, which is terrible if you take into account that it is a platform for visual and artistic people.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For the company where I work is very useful, it is a great provider of good images.

 ### 34. Kind of dated, but nice for storage

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

I like best the ability to store different quality of photos and images

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

What I like least is the interface and how it is kind of dated. The whole slideshow fullscreen mode is not fun.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping larger images up for access without syncing to cloud-based apps

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Flicker is fine for a free image hosting service. They give you 1 TB of data for free, and more if you need it. 1 TB should be enough though unless you literally upload thousands of high resolution pictures. It really comes down to if you need to have a photography profile or somewhere to show of you photos, then flicker is a good option. If you really need to just host and share, there are better alternatives like imgur.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

I don't really have a lot to complain, I just didn't like the path they took flicker but having to have a "social community" rather than just a picture hosting service. But this seemed to work for a bunch of other people.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think if you take photography somewhat seriously use flickr. I honestly haven't heard of many different competitors with the same service and it seems like one of the most, if not the most popular one out there so your profilo with reach a much bigger community.

 ### 36. Used to be great but not so much anymore

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

The quality of the images in terms of resolution and content make it an ideal place to source creative commons licensed images for various commercial and non commercial usage. I also really enjoy browsing the archive.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

Flickr used to be a great repository of amazing images. Since the Yahoo! takeover however the site has been left to stagnate with other social media platforms such as Instagram taking its place. This is a real shame as it was one of the first photo sharing social media sites but it never really capitalised on its initial traction.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sourcing images for slideshows and presentations.

 ### 37. Free, public sharing

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Flickr?**

Flickr allows us to share images with the public.

**What do you dislike about Flickr?**

It can be difficult to manage our images across platforms.

**What problems is Flickr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This has helped us to find and share images and has connected us to constituents.
