## About FlexNet Manager
Software is one of the major items on any IT expense budget. Industry analysts estimate software license and maintenance fees represent 20 to 35% of total enterprise IT spend. The approach for managing a software asset portfolio is typically inefficient, relying on a local approach instead of a global one, and frequently involves spreadsheets or other ad hoc methods. The lack of efficient software asset management processes exposes enterprises to software audit liabilities and overspending on licenses and maintenance. Flexera FlexNet Manager software and IT asset management solutions manage and optimize enterprise software regardless of location, from the desktop to the data center to the cloud. We'll give your organization a growth path and roadmap for success. Manage and reduce spend on applications from Adobe, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, VMware, Symantec and SAP. Flexnet Manager Suite for Clients: Optimize your software licenses across desktops, laptops, and other client devices. FlexNet Manager for Clients automatically applies product use rights acquired through software license agreements from desktop vendors such as Adobe, Microsoft and Symantec. Product use rights can dramatically affect the number of licenses consumed by an organization, and must therefore be considered to minimize costs and ensure license compliance. Flexnet Manager Suite for Data Centers: It's difficult to know what’s happening across your data centers–until now. No matter what your challenges, FlexNet Manager for Data Centers can help you get control. You get visibility and insight for all your assets with our powerful, easy-to-use, role-based Data Analytics Dashboards. Flexnet Manager Suite for SAP Applications: Managing SAP® licenses can require significant time and effort. It's difficult to get an accurate handle on license requirements and position. And not knowing what applications are indirectly accessing SAP data can cost you big time. We’ll help you navigate SAP for business success. Flexnet Manager Suite for Engineering Apps: Concurrent licenses can be challenging to manage. But managing them effectively is essential for engineering and design applications. License denials can lead to project delays, lost revenue and decreased customer satisfaction. Lack of visibility can cause still more problems. FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications delivers a comprehensive solution.

## FlexNet Manager Reviews
 ### 1. FlexNet Manager Simplifies Software Asset Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dewang S. | Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

I like its ability to automate license tracking and provide clear visibility into usage. The integration with multiple platforms and real-time tracking makes it easy to stay compliant and optimize software usage. The customer support team is incredibly responsive, resolving cases quickly and efficiently whenever needed. I use FlexNet Manager regularly, and it has become an essential tool for our daily operations. The implementation was smooth with helpful resources and guidance from the support team.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

The initial setup can be a bit time consuming and some features like, custom reporting, should be more user friendly and flexible.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping solve the issue of software license compliance, budget optimization, and preventing legal risks associated with untracked software. Additionally, it centralizes data from multiple departments, streamlining reporting and decision-making.

 ### 2. Efficient Software Asset Management with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Himanshi C. | Analyst, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2025

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

I use FlexNet Manager on a frequent basis to monitor software usage and compliance. It offers a wide range of features and integrates well with other systems, which helps streamline asset management. Once set up, it saves a lot of manual effort. Also the customer support is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

The interface isn’t very user-friendly, and implementation was complex. It took me a while to get comfortable with the tool.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FlexNet Manager helps me track software usage, manage licenses, and stay compliant with vendor agreements. It reduces the risk of over- or under-licensing and gives clear visibility into our software assets. This has helped us cut unnecessary costs and improve audit readiness.

 ### 3. Great SAM tool for Oracle DB inventory with sometimes lackluster support

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2025

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

FlexNet Manager is one of the best tools in the market when it comes to Software Asset Management. They offer a wide range of capabilities that can be a dream for a software license manager, if the tool is properly maintained. The reporting features are good, but customization is rather difficult.
Our company is mainly using FlexNet Manager for Oracle database inventory and it is doing a great job there (although it has to be noted that inventory in cloud environments is rather difficult / limited).
Container inventory is also rather limited and for example does not offer the deep Oracle database scanning that the regular agent is offering.
Overall I would recommend the use of FlexNet Manager, especially if the users main environment is still on-prem based. If you are a company with a lot of cloud assets, Flexera One might be the better solution.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

Maintaining the tool can be quite difficult and definitely needs some technical expertise / admin knowledge (however it has to be said, that all SAM tools I have used have the same or similar issues).
FlexNet Manager is basically the legacy product from Flexera. If you want the newest features and more capabilities like SaaS discovery, you need to switch to Flexera One.
The support of Flexera can be difficult. Sometimes tickets get quick updates and you can have calls with the support agents to fix issues. Sometimes tickets take what feels like forever and you need to escalate within Flexera. However I do feel that the support has improved vs. the past years.
It feels like suggestions for improvements or customer specific problems are not a priority for Flexera (we feel that their focus is on the top spenders; if you are not part of this group, support in such cases is very limited).
Also the customer management / account management at Flexera needs to be improved. For years we did not have a direct contact person which makes it difficult to address those customer specific issues (I do think this is probably also a consequence of their size as they are one of the few remaining providers in the market).

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our main use is for Oracle DB inventory. The tool does a great job on-prem and delivers the necessary information to stay compliant. In AWS we discovered multiple issues and the tools capabilities could be better.

 ### 4. Helps in Managing Licenses and Optimizing Software Costs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2025

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

FlexNet Manager Suite makes it easier to track and manage software licenses across the organization. I like how it gives a clear view of usage and compliance, which helps avoid unnecessary costs or risks. The reporting features are also helpful for making informed decisions.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

The setup and initial learning curve can be a bit challenging, especially for new users. At times, reports take longer to load, and the interface could be more modern and intuitive. With a simpler UI, the experience would be even better.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool helps us stay compliant with software licensing, avoid penalties, and optimize costs by showing where we are over-licensed or underutilizing software. It has also improved visibility into our IT assets, making planning and budgeting much easier.

 ### 5. One Platform for License Compliance and Optimization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pranjal T. | Senior Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2025

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

The content library (ARL, SKU, PURL, SKU/PURL libraries) keeps data clean and standardized. This saves enormous time in managing discovery and entitlement mapping.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

The tool is powerful, but it takes time and expertise to configure correctly (especially for license models like Oracle, IBM PVU, or SAP). Smaller teams may find it overwhelming.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem: Risk of non-compliance during software audits (Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, SAP, etc.).

Benefit: FlexNet Manager reconciles entitlements vs. actual usage, helping us stay audit-ready and avoid unexpected costs.

 ### 6. Comprehensive License Management

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

FlexNet Manager excels in providing a centralized platform for managing software licenses, compliance, and usage across a wide range of vendors. Also, FlexNet Manager integrates seamlessly with other inventory sources. This application is used frequently for license compliance across all engineering application. The initial setup can be time-consuming and requires a solid understanding of both the technical and business side. The ease of use can be a bit sluggish while handling a large amount of data.

FlexNet Manager helps us solve the challenge of tracking and optimizing software licenses across large, complex environments especially for engineering applications.

FlexNet Manager is helping us address several key challenges related to software asset management, including license compliance, cost optimization, and visibility across our IT environment.

 ### 10. Good overview of all your software assets

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

Flexera provides a very good overview of all software assets, their usage including licensing.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

The menu structure is hard to learn and understand, some terms are very specific and must be learnt - it's not always intuitive.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flexnet Manager is giving us an overview of all used software and thus allowing us to e.g. discover shadow IT. Furthermore it enables us to check our licenses against the real usage and therefore drives the cost optimization, i.e. partially reduction of licenses.

**Reviewed by:** Atul K. | Senior consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2021

Discovery of hardware and software assets using agentless algorithms similar to ServiceNow and compliance capability to reclaim the unused licenses. Also its providing best adapter for the citric xen app and EdgeSight to gather the users access rights and uses information on which management can work and control or optimize its use. Great Feature

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

Agent-based capability to discover the hardware and also asset and al Issue while integrating SAP AND Agent Inventory pop window during inventory gathering for mac and issue while integration it with aws is what concerns me.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our problem to contain the licensing cost has been optimized by this tool and agentless discovery of hardware asset has been a great capability of this tool and cost-effectiveness is the cherry on the cake and its ease to integrate with servicenow has been very helpful for our clients to discover the hardware assets. We successfully integrated it servicenow and realized the value of cost by optimizing the licensing cost.

 ### 14. Past it's best

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2021

Like other similar programs, the longer FlexNet is in use and properly maintained, the more benefits you can obtain from it. FlexNet is well established and has a proven track record of actually working.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

Older versions of it are very dated and a little bit clunky. Newer versions have improved, but some of the same problems persist.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool is used to track the various data sets and software & hardware assets across a global enterprise. Various team members use the tool for different tasks, and other teams feed information on newer installs etc which is added to the tool regularly. With everything processed through a refined and mature process, we can accurately picture what is currently installed and in use on the estate globally.

Nothing as such but interface could be improved.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

Its definitely a good SAM tool.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Interface could be improved and sometimes batch uploads doesn't work properly.

 ### 17. It allows a large number of integrations with other applications

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthea M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2020

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

It allows a large number of integrations with other applications that allow me to get 100% out of this application in a fairly safe, practical and easy way, in terms of data accuracy, the information it provides is quite complete, solid and robust, ideal for make any type of decision that affects the future of the company, customer service is excellent at all times.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

Its interface has an impractical design and somewhat cumbersome to understand, so navigation turns out to be somewhat bumpy, not to mention that the performance is somewhat poor, since in many cases the system becomes slow for no reason or reason Apparent that can justify this reality, in addition, acquiring additional functions can be quite an expensive task to perform.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Personally, I always use it to acquire the licenses of my installed programs in a simpler and faster way since it allows me to buy everything through the same interface, however lately I have realized that it has not been providing me the same results as it gave me before, it is becoming more expensive and cumbersome to acquire a license in this way and the performance is giving much to be desired, I think that maybe it is time to change applications and give Flexera a break for a while .

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Austin R. | S, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2020

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

Good variety of out of the box adapters that cover key publishers. ARL automation and constant updates to ARL libraries.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

Custom adapters & data import methods are prone to issues if not implemented correct.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimizing software spend and consolidation of solutions. We have realized a number of cost reduction opportunities for future license renewals.

 ### 20. FNMS - Great Value and Valuable Information

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Russell M. | Project manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2020

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

When implemented with the FNMS Agent, the level of information that the system has access to really allows for some deep analysis.

With a wide array of reporting out of the box, along with the ability to filter and customise views of the data is a fantastic feature.

As we are using the cloud managed version. As such, the absence of any need to supply resources (both human and harware) to maintain the supporting infrastructure is of great benefit. We anticipate that the savings from the analysis of license spend will cover the cost of FNSM for our organisation over the next 3 years.

The integration points - both SCCM and ServiceNow - are of great benefit to our organisation. This allows us to gather both software, laptop, desktop and Server hardware information from a single source for IT Service Management (ITSM) purposes and utilise it to improve customer experience and change control.

We feel the tool will be a core element in our ITSM managment strategy for the forseeable future.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

The setup and distribution of the agent across a large organisation with multiple platforms can be a challenge. Planning and proper project controls, along with technical expertise is essential.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

Definately consider FNMS for your organisation, this product will save you money on licensing.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fleet managment, software license controls, and better CMDB data are all issues that we have seen improvements in.

The ServiceNow integration will provide us with a wealth of information in our ITSM platform that will be utilsed to improve customer experience and change control across the organisation.

 ### 21. Leading Licensing Technology

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

I didn't any such major issues about FlexNet manager.
Overall the Flexera Software tool are good but some time we are facing platform specific issues.
When we face platform specific issues again Flexera Teams taking time for replicating the issues.
we need to plan specific platform changes in case existing package not covering those platform / OS.
In the meantime getting many escalations from customers (if resolution got delay).

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

Best in industry.
Cisco Using Flext Net licensing Technology for products licensing software.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FlexNet softwares mostly like system / platform depending.
it would be better if they provide friendly model solutions.

 ### 22. FlexNet Manager is helpful, but in parts very cumbersome.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2020

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

The coloured "License Summary", which shows the deltas between "bought" and "used".

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

Two things. It is a "must" to have the possibility to split a higher number of bought licenses between different cost centers. To input one purchase detail several times to split a buying between different cost centers is a no-go! Second point, the upload functionality of "Documents" is not usable. We use Microsoft Teams ... and links from documents stored in Teams are too long for the input-field in FNMS. Also a movement from the files withing Teams/SharePoint will result in a loss of all linked relationships in FNM. An upload into the cloud is not practable beause of performance reasons by a growing database. The only possibilty for us is using "Physical location" which points to the one-drive cloud location of the document. But this will also result in a loss of the pointer, when there files will be moved. Maybe you think about an solution.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

Make your naming conventions before starting to feed the database and also think about your categories and cost center concept if it will be stable.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The invitiation of Flexera is brand new. Our expectiations are to find forbidden installations and licencing problems. Also we hope to reduce software inventory and the amount of licenses.

 ### 23. Helpful for Flexnet applications, but our licenseing includes more than Flexnet

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard G. | Concurrent License Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2019

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

The ability to quickly see the status of our licenses servers, and be able to receive alerts when something goes down. Having alerts being sent out is very useful and can save a lot of time bringing up a our license status when we are on call just to see that a normal reread has cause the server to lose communication and therefore trigger an alert. Also like the graphical interface as most information from Flexnet is presented in text box format.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

The lack of compatibility with other license managers such and RLM and LM-X.The reporting feature is seriously lacking. It can create reports, but system is very clunky and old school. Even when I create a report, I have to spend time in Excel arranging, sorting, removing fields I don't need and removing values that contaminate the end data.
Not being able to see other license managers prevents the software from being a one stop shop for all license server related issues. It is true that we are not using the latest version, but upgrading takes considerable time and effort to perform, and we have been trying to get it done since I started and we have not done so yet.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

N/A

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a problem with knowing if we are utilizing our licenses properly. While the reporting feature is limited, it does provide data that can be finessed to show trends and usage over time.

 ### 24. Finally getting organized

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin B. | Systeam Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

A simple yet powerful tool to finally get our inventory, purchases, and maintenance all in one place and able to run reports based on this information.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

The reporting features and menus can be a little difficult to get around at first but once you have done a few, it is not to bad.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

If you have no asset management in place now, this would be the way to go. You can build a truly good asset data storage by building it from the ground up. Make sure to have all you historic purchases available, any maintenance, and then use that information to build.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have reduced costs by not having to purchase licenses since we already have the number we needed. Past years we have always purchased some because that is what we have done in the past. We are now able to see trends and plan better. This year alone we have save 250K and that is just the start on how we want to manage going forward.

 ### 25. I would like to recommend FlexNet Manager for other if some improvements will be implemented

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maciej R. | Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2019

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

Well, there's a lot of things which Flexera does well.
Totally customizable inventory, we can import data from everything
Flexera's team initiative to create Community - it was helpful a few times when docs were unsuitable.
I can see also a lot of engagement from your side to improve your product - i.e. when you asked customers about new features ideas. That is great and I encourage your activity in this area.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

Import procedures for Import Manager needs to be corrected.
Queries are not optimized well, it needs to be improved definitely.
Especially when it comes to larger amount of data.
For example: There is a lot of Software File Evidence, about 67 million records and DeleteFromImportedInstalledFileEvidence procedure takes too long time to complete - even after setting timeout to 10 hours.
The same relates to Software Raw Software Occurrences. It can extend import time from 3 hours to 10.
I wonder about some kind of troubleshoot guide and some kind of best practice - unfortunately in some cases System Reference and Community is not enough.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

If you're not adapted to work with Windows Server and T-SQL, FlexNet Manager might be troublesome to administering in the beginning.
But on the other hand, Flexera team does everything to improve this software.

 ### 26. Great Tool for all size companies

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin J. | Software Asset Manager, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2019

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

FNMS doenst micro manage linceses and entitlements, but provides a great overview of the state of your whole company. Connectivity with SAP and Active Directory are a great way to get data organized and automated. Vcenter integration is vital for a lot of licensing. Calculation of IBM products sub capacity thru the PURLS is a great capability.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

Integration can be difficult depending on your network, but once you get those connections up and running you get over that. You need to really understand your network and sub networks to make sure that you have the beacons and SCCM integrations needed coming in correctly.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

Get someone that really know your network involved early on integration. Forget about micromanaging licenses and look at the big picture. Some of the PURLS are more valuable than others. Cloud is great to make sure your can work where ever when ever.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have notice a lot of unauthorized software. Also the ratio of over/Under deployment is a great tool to save some bucks.

 ### 27. SAM tool with a very good discovery capability across various platforms

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julius J. | Software Asset Manager, Financial Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

- discovery capability of the tool
- SW catalog in general is very good and not just for Microsoft products
- works across multiple platforms

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

- some of the license consumption calculations for specific metrics could use improvement
- sometimes the tools is not doing what it's supposed to (Production/Non-production license assignment does not work)

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- We're using it for SW compliance reporting
- Discovery of SW
- Renewals
- We're planning to use it Raw software usage reporting
- FlexNet Manager has a great discovery capabilities ad catalog, probably the best in the market, some of the license compliance calculation methodologies could use improvement as we need to do quite a bit of manual work on top of what FlexNet Manager does

 ### 28. A one stop platform for Asset Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chandrachurh G. | Senior Solution Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2019

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

The diverse feature ensures that almost any company will be able to align their process with the tool workflow. Also, there is a regular release roadmap ensuring that the application is up-to-date with latest industry trends. Companies who are new in asset management can get a quick start with this tool and the consultants I have worked with are knowledgeable and can support from scratch to a stable environment.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

There is minimal documentation for step-by-step installation, configuration or up-gradation. Missing sensitivity to customer IPCC process. Corresponding to monitoring, the newly introduced dashboard has a lot of bugs and needs improvement.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

Please setup a team with Flexera consultant and perform the initial setup together. Document all possible areas.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The asset landscape within our company and many other global company is complex for maintenance. Licenses are bought in silos and wasted and as they are in small quantities, they cannot be negotiated and are costly. The information is mostly maintained in spreadsheets or local tools, which makes aggregation of the overall requirement for the entire company next to impossible. Further, to be careful of being compliant always, companies tend to over procure licenses and hardware.
FlexNet Manager has provided us a platform to understand the overall requirement for the entire company globally. Also, this provided visibility on the areas where we could optimize. This helped us save a significant amount of money.

 ### 29. Flexera (FlexNet) Users Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2019

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

I love that FlexNet has the look and feel of a Microsoft product, it makes navigation feel intuitive and when you are new to using it. I also like the separation of the management and analytics dashboards, it helps to keep the interface from looking cluttered and offers a clear separation between data and analysis.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

Unfortunately, FlexNet does not provide the robust SKU library that would take this product to the next level. The Application Recognition Library (ARL) is very comprehensive, but it is lacking the associated SKUs, which they do not share with you or allow you to search. This makes processing a purchase very tedious - a problem that FlexNet is supposed to be a solution to. Oftentimes there is also issues with the ARL having incorrect data, such as incorrect product use rights. - Updating 11/2019 to say that we have seen a great deal of improvement in the PURL and that their support team has been excellent in solving cases in a timely manner.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

Before purchasing, consider the type of software you are looking to establish a compliance position with. Software installed on servers is the easiest to monitor using FlexNet - cloud software is not integrated with FlexNet.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FlexNet has allowed us to gain greater insight into our compliance position for many products, especially those with extended PURL support such as Oracle and IBM. Furthermore, since FlexNet is an IBM certified tool, we are able to use it to automate some of our monthly reporting and provide extractions from it for audit purposes. While we are still getting to know the tool, it has been very valuable to our team in providing a unified platform to view our installation data in a manner that is easily searchable. Updated 11/2019 to add that FNMS far outperforms other tools our team has been made to consider lately when it comes to drilling down and seeing application installation from multiple angles and compliance levels.

 ### 30. FlexNet Manager

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

FlexNet Manager is very user friendly compare to other competitors like SNOW License manager. I working both Flexera and SNOW License Manager. I want to share major two advantages.

1) Agent installation: while agent installation we facing Mem and CPU utilization very high in SNOW License manager but in FlexNet it's very less. I implemented FNMS four organizations still now never seen any issues related Mem and CPU consumption. This feature is best in Flexera why because this is basic requirement for Flexera Administration who deploy and manage FNMS. We encourage many customers to FlexNet Manager for license complains. And Optimization based on this Mem and CPU high Utilization in SNOW License Manager.

2) Contract, PO, License : in SNOW License Manager we can't able to create PO, Contract and License separate. Agreement and License only have two options. FlexNet Manager we can create Contract, PO, License separate and we are able to triggers the mail alerts to SAM Managers for going to expire contracts.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

only one thing very dislike thing support. when we raise the ticket it's take to much time to resolve the issue and response also.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Performance and reliability is always been a area of the improvement .
Several time it has been noticed that support is not up to the exceptions.
Lack in big data analysis which is must in the EDA industries as the data being used here is directly proportional to the money as company spent

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

May be improvement on the support structure please

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt J. | IT Asset Mgmt Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

I started with using Excel sheets to track licenses, and that quickly got out of hand. This tool allows me to monitor software installs that I didn't know about and track usage for licenses that I am tracking closely.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

It's only as good as the data that is being entered. There is a lot of "supervision" of the data to ensure accuracy. But that can't really be avoided.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

Flexera told us that 2-3 Full Time people should be dedicated to admin the system. But we haven't done that, and I feel it has created challenges for us.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to provide quick reporting to management. And we have proactively saved millions of dollars in software compliance fees.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about FlexNet Manager?**

Straight forward interface. The interfacing is very user-friendly. It is also recognized by various big software publishers and this would definitely be the solution that is able to ensure those software publishers licenses are managed in an effective manner.

**What do you dislike about FlexNet Manager?**

There are still some bugs and does not address issues in very details. They could have a more descriptive listing on which software publishers's software it could or couldn't support. This is quite ambigous as stating the software publisher's brand alone may not be sufficient for us to be fully aware of the other software under this publisher.

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

Yes

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Software inventory information availability across assets, cloud servers and virtual machines.. Software licenses usage. Reporting capabilities are great as well.

I am not fond of the fact we can't determine from the last inventory source the version of agent. We are in the process of going from 32 bit to 64 bit via v 14 (MAC no longer allow 32 bit software). We are trying to make sure the data is being pulled.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Recommendations to others considering FlexNet Manager:**

Better communication on support tickets would be nice. I usually have to follow-up to get a response.

**What problems is FlexNet Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**
