It has become an invaluable tool for proactive threat mitigation. **What do you dislike about Flashpoint?** The only downside I can think of is the application GUI that does not have advanced features such as pivoting and customisation. They care a lot about helping campanies solving complex problems, even if if the certain scenario is not in your contract or explicitly in their scope of work. They are also excellent in true emergency situations and they run to your aid and prioritise your challenge at a moments notice. The Flashpoint team are also extremely nice to work with; You can tell that they have spent a lot of time building out a strong culture within their business and everyone you meet is just extremely dedicated, genuinely ethusiastic , and interested in their job & realm of work. They will help you figure out your 'Unknown Unknowns' --> Even if you think you currently don't need their expertise, task automation potential, and extra eyes on your highest priorities --> just have a chat with them. :) **What do you dislike about Flashpoint?** I wish I could use them and interact with them for more elements of my work. **What problems is Flashpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can't really talk about details. The platform is extremely user friendly and has a familiar layout even if you are new to the platform. It is has proven helpful to be able to pivot within the platform to continue your research as you start uncovering what you are looking for. **What do you dislike about Flashpoint?** My biggest frustration is the lag at time to get a response on a bigger query. Not a huge deal, but can slow things down at times. Typically data like this can be mundane to sift through, but this tool allows you to narrow down searches to make the web not so wide while providing an aesthetically pleasing UI Having a tool that not only has a compilation of in depth breach data but also provides accurate Darkweb posts has been critical to my work. It allows you to search Darkweb content without having to actually go to the DW or view illicit content - if you do Darkweb work and don't have to view images, this tool can be crucial for your line of work! If you DO have to actually go to the DW to view the content, well, Beacon makes it easy for you! It provides data broken down from each post - the URLs, dates when it was posted, authors, potential crypto addresses, etc. The Echosec side of things has shown me whole new avenues to research. Even though most have geolocation turned off nowadays, Echosec still provides actionable data that may not display when searching on Google. Both of these have an export feature that makes it easy to compile everything into a categorized file. Aside from the tool, the staff itself is genuinely kind and supportive of their clients. They seek feedback and work hard to try to make all requests possible. If something may not be doable for them, they will be upfront and seek new solutions for you. Whether you are an investigator, military, LEO of some kind...this tool is a necessity to maximize investigations! **What do you dislike about Flashpoint?** Nothing really! Any time I have had an "issue" it was almost instantly resolved or I had someone reach out to seek a solution for me. The only suggestion I'd have (which is already being worked on) is exporting all posts at once. I wouldn't classify that as a dislike though - it is great :) **What problems is Flashpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** I primarily use this to find anyone who is requesting or trading CSAM or exploiting children, but I have also used it to do security checks on a myself or someone we may be looking to get involved with - that way I can see if (I) have been seen on the Darkweb or part of a breach, or if I want to do an overall check to see what information I have publicly available. ### 24. The new Risk Portal actually makes it possible to keep a closer eye on any Dark Web related content as you can set up alerts in the platform when reviewing content in the social media section. If something is concerning, you can always navigate to Beacon to take a deeper dive. That being said, it is also important to mention the wonderful customer success team that is always available to answer any questions or concerns we may have about the platform. **What do you dislike about Flashpoint?** Echosec does not have anything that we don't like. If anything, we wish we could use Echosec for all our tasks. Unfortunately, the only thing it can't do is write the reports for us. **Recommendations to others considering Flashpoint:** If you're looking for a platform to keep you informed on any chatter related to your clients on social media or deep web forums, Echosec is the platform for you. As a bonus, if you want to keep an eye on the Dark Web, it provides you with that capability too. **What problems is Flashpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Echosec lays out all the content we need to keep an eye on to ensure nefarious actors are not targeting our clients. With the alert system, you can set up email notifications to stay on top of any immediate threats. We set these notifications depending on the level of necessity, sometimes every 5 minutes, every hour, or daily. In terms of Dark Web content, the information catalogued in Beacon always appears to be fresh with a consistent stream of newly crawled data day after day. This allows our organization to stay out of any direct contact with the Dark Web, but still have the full picture to communicate to our clients on any issues that may require immediate attention. ### 25. They are always readily available while taking into consideration any specific features we have requested to make our experience on the platform more effective. **What do you dislike about Flashpoint?** Very little, but when we have questions or comments related to missing data and such, they can always accommodate our requests. **What problems is Flashpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Echosec’s Social Media Monitoring tool allows us to stay up to date with any online threats made against our clients or simply general public discourse surrounding our client's image. We utilize the saved searches feature which include various filters to help us find the most threatening chatter and alert ourselves to any issues that may require immediate attention; this can range from breaking news that could cause upticks in chatter or offices/buildings our clients are working where we would like to keep an eye on any online threats that could be targeting a specific location.
