Fixer is a simple and lightweight API for current and historical foreign exchange (forex) rates. 170 World Currencies Real-time exchange rate data for 170 world currencies, updated every 60 seconds. Trusted Sources Currency data delivered by Fixer is sourced from financial data providers and banks, including the European Central Bank. Bank-Level Security Your connection to the Fixer API is encrypted using bank-grade 256-bit SSL Encryption. Powerful, Reliable JSON API The Fixer API comes with guaranteed availability, scalable volumes and responds within milliseconds. Extensive Documentation An API Documentation packed with simple instructions and code examples enable quick implementation at any level. Historical Data Historical exchange rate data is available all the way back to 1st January, 1999. Currency Conversion Endpoints Aside from live data, Fixer also comes with separate endpoints for single currency conversion and Time-Series data.

**What do you like best about fixer.io?**

It's easy to implement. REST API. I need to get realtime FX data for trading and fixer gives me what I want.

**What do you dislike about fixer.io?**

Sometimes service went down for a few days.
Cancel or changing plans are not convenient. You have to email to support team.
To me, it's more expensive compared to Exchange Rates Data API from apilayer.

**What problems is fixer.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to get realtime FX data for trading and fixer gives me what I want.

Provides real-time and historical exchange rates that are updated regularly and very cheap.

API may experience downtime or disruptions

**What do you like best about fixer.io?**

It provides an interaction layer between different APis which is extremely helpful. Helped us work with current easier during our development stage.

**What do you dislike about fixer.io?**

More integrations into different vendors and an easier onboarding process. Currencies need to be easier to monitor

Syncing several APIs together to make it easier for our team
