Our goal at Fishbowl is to be the total package, and we're glad to hear that we're providing the ease of use and feature set you need to keep everything up to date.

That's a good point about often not being able to go back once you've hit submit. There are some things you can modify after the fact, such as what you mentioned about reconciling invoices and cycle counting items in your inventory. Plus, you can cancel or unissue sales orders after they've been issued. I hope that helps. Thank you for sharing your review!

What do you like best about Fishbowl Inventory?

The options to create our own names, locations, descriptions, etc for each product, with options for substitutions. Also the functionality of the order/picking/shipping modules are a time saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?

There seem to be modules that don't quite work the way they should. When creating a BOM list for pulling certain parts, there seems to be an algorithm misstep to the inventory numbers. Also, it's incredibly frustration that one has to have a price in the "inventory" module in order to show up in certain reports, even when that price has already been listed in the "parts" and "product" modules. What do you like best about Fishbowl Inventory?

The ability to easily add custom fields is very beneficial for creating custom data queries. This has allowed to more easily access data for weekly and monthly reporting. I love the ability to create custom queries. I enjoy that there are different options to contant customer support. I have often been able to readily resolve server issues through web chat. We're so glad you find the Monitor module useful. You must be a really awesome user to have discovered the usefulness of watches on parts in Fishbowl! There are so many helpful things like that that we aim to give you in our software.

I apologize that some of Fishbowl's reports haven't worked with your policies. The good news is that we have a new tool called Fishbowl AI Insights, which will most likely make report issues a thing of the past. Please contact your Account Manager to get started with this plugin, and then you'll be able to customize reports to meet your exact needs without needing to go through our Custom Reports team. Custom reports will be much faster and easier to generate, allowing you to use them in the exact ways that work for your business.

The modules in Fishbowl are very easy to understand and use. It also offers lot tracking and expiry date tracking, which many software systems do not. Customer service has always been fantastic. There is minimal customizations for the standard reports and to get a truly custom report, there is a hefty price associated with it. What do you like best about Fishbowl Inventory?

Fishbowl inventory is simple and built on a relational database using MySQL. There are loads of training materials available, and this combination allows for a quick to achieve and deep understanding of the software. Fishbowl works as an excellent CRM for order and inventory tracking. The system has a very clean layout, where it does not take long to know where to go to solve a task or problem. Connections to the software via API and import/export are extremely handy. I found the Fishbowl staff to be very pleasent and helpful on most all topics (albeit perhaps a bit understaffed).

Great software, I am sure it will continue to grow, and at a later time, would be happy to adjust my review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?

Fishbowl's value as an MES is somewhat to be desired. I feel that in 2024, it is hard to justfy not including some pretty standard ERP functions when creating BoMs and work orders.

Even though the software is easy to understand, it is not incredibly user friendly. I feel that many of the operations people perform day to day could be streamlined with dropdowns or auto sourcing.

There also seems to be somewhat of a disconnect between modules involved in the same functions. For instance, the picking and shipping modules are unable to produce all the information that may exist on the sales order module.

Not a big fan of paying for user seats. Nothing more irritating than needing to get some work done and the login limit has been reached. This is a payment scale that benifits the user with options, but requires much more interaction to maintain usability. Should not be a problem for smaller organizations.

Finally, (one that has come up recently) the 'inventory tag' that applies to items treats them as seperate inventories, almost as if they are different parts with the same part number. The only place I have seen to view this 'tag' that defines them, is in the picking module, which makes it extraordinarly difficult to discover which items are which, since you cannot even view the tag number in the inventorys of the parts. (another example of disconnect between modules.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Fishbowl is really good at tracking inventory, sales, and purchasing. Easy to use. There is a lot of information that it tracks that is very helpful for reporting.
