Our business model is pretty unique and we made it work! This software has many great features, reports etc.. and as you work with this software you will discover more features and functionality etc.. that will help make your business operate even smoother. When we do get stuck on something which has been rare for us, we just call Fishbowl up and they answer all of our questions, everyone we have spoken to at Fishbowl is super helpful and friendly, seems these guys really care about their customers which is hard to find these days! I also recommend that you host your Quickbooks data files with Fishbowl as having Fishbowl and Quickbooks on the same server will keep everything running smoothly. The monthly hosting cost was also much cheaper compaired to what we were paying this other company to host our Quickbooks. So far we have not had any downtime with this software! If you're using Quickbooks and need a good inventory software, Fishbowl is the only way to go! Yes their is a learning cruve, yes you may get frustrated in the begining, but let me tell you we tried EVERY inventory software you can think of that intergrates into Quickbooks and have lost a lot of money and time trying to get something to work. Everyone has their own opinions, but all I can say is coming to Fishbowl was the greatest decision for our company! **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** Trying to get everything set up in the beginning was a slight challenge, along with some items in QuickBooks that did not transfer over to Fishbowl. We had to input the missing data manually. Just be aware if you have custom fields in Quickbooks, these may not transfer, and this makes sense as these fields do not exist in Fishbowl. With any new software there will be a struggle initially as we have been using Quickbooks for almost 15 years to manage everything, but Fishbowl was able to answer ALL of our questions and help guide us in the right direction. **What problems is Fishbowl Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before Fishbowl, we were managing inventory manually in the warehouse and inputting everything manually into Quickbooks. The Wiki site is easy to find about anything you need. I have only had to contact support once and it was easy and something I could have found on my own actually. **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** Just the lack of overall intuitiveness but I want to mention I am just the admin not the end user. From an admin side it all works and does everything it should, it just needs to be a little more straightforward. They do not allow many employees to talk with customers. If you have issues there is no one to escalate the problem too. The major issue is FB states it takes an average of 4-12 weeks to install and get a software test database--however, they only offer a 30 day money back guarantee???? Seems very fishy? I think the onboard training is helpful, however they rushed us into doing so before the database was configured. They also overpromised and underdelivered. **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** We signed up for Fishbowl and they promised a money-back guarantee after 30 days, but it took longer to set up the software, so we didn't even get to try it out before the trial had expired. They lied to me and told me it would connect with my PM software and provided an excel spreadsheet that didn't transfer over any relevant data, causing double entry and room for multiple errors. They basically said tough luck and won't give us a penny of our money back, despite not asking for a full refund. Extremely disappointed in management and that I'm out nearly $20k. I launched fishbowl in my company without the need for any training from Fishbowl. The Support staff are available both by chat for those things that you just forgot how to do and live with screen sharing for the more in depth problems. I have launched SAP, BANN and various MAPICS solutions for several companies over the past 30 years and Fishbowl beats them all hands down. These other solutions require vast sums of money for consultants to help you navigate through the software to find the functions that you need. Fishbowl has everything that 99% of all manufacturers and online retailers need. **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** Bulk uploading can be quirky. Sometimes .csv works sometimes .xlsx works. Tracking who did what when on orders has inproved but I would like to see this developed for BOM changes **What problems is Fishbowl Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our company was doing hundreds of sales transactions and inventory receipts through a very sophisticated home grown access database. We relied and were held to randsome by the developers and super users. We replaced it all literally overnight. The support team is responsive and helpful. **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** Certain UI elements and features are in unintuitive spots, such as the product tree not being included in the same window as the product search. There are tons of reports with options to modify them, but half of the modifying options I would want aren't there and need to be purchased or customized separately. The barcode software has some limitations I don't like, such as inventory adjustment and putting an item on a sales order being two separate barcodes. I can't tie them into one. I can't add a BOM onto a packing list as an option or confirm a PO was paid with a credit card or not before pushing it to QuickBooks, minor annoyances like that. **Recommendations to others considering Fishbowl Inventory:** Just get a demo. Processes that took 10 - 15 clicks in our previous system now take 2 - 3. If you don't know where something is, you can easily search for it or use logic to find its location. The integrations are seamless and the support is top notch. **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** We've had to learn some tricks to make all of our business processes work in Fishbowl's ecosystem. But that's to be expected with any software. The support team, with members like Madison Forsgren, is fantastic and goes above and beyond to help or make things happen. Once you learn the workflows of taking in orders and shipping, it becomes way easier than using websites. The inventory tracking and ability to export inventory and prices to our websites is a helpful function. the more we all use Fishbowl, the more we all really like it. **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** I do feel like some essential e-commerce functions are missing from Fishbowl. The initial integration of Fishbowl was pretty cumbersome as well, but that could be our fault as well as we lacked many of the critical information needed for Fishbowl to do its job. To play devils advocate, Fishbowl has been very helpful through every issue. Unfortunately, our account manager has not been very helpful with us addressing issues. But we have had plenty of sucess dealing with others at Fishbowl. Being able to inport and export data is a pretty big feature to me **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** As a Mac user, there are a few more bugs in the system compared to the full Microsoft version. Support is always happy to help, but at times they are annoying hurdles. Also, integrating with Quickbooks causes some back and forth issues. **What problems is Fishbowl Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** There are some issues without skus translating from scheduled CSV reports to usable XLS formats. It may be a Mac issue,but support did provide a method to open CSV files without creating odd artifacts in sku numbers. As an inventory management system, it is comprehensive and allows for a complete cycle of fulfillment from receiving an order to shipping it out. **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** The interface is antiquated and can at times be slow. It does not currently possess a suspicious order monitoring system. For that reason, it cannot be used as a Pharmaceutical platform if you are shipping any controlled substances. For Rx and OTC fulfillment, it contains all of the required features including the ability to code via serialization. **What problems is Fishbowl Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is a good bridge between Accounting and inventory management. Because it is not a full suite ERP, it does not contain all business departments in-house within the same system. It allows us to save costs by not fully integrating with an ERP like Oracle or SAP. If you are a smaller company, it's unnecessary to pay the exorbitant costs of major ERP's if your organizational structure does not lend itself to requiring it. Additionally, the ability to integrate with multiple other platforms makes blending B2C & B2B easy. We are able to use WooCommerce and pull directly into fishbowl to eliminate manual data entry. FB can also be easily manipulated to accommodate an array of pricing matrix, product trees, and various other elements, which is critical to our service manufacturing company. **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** I would like for FB to be able to assist better with troubleshooting the connection between Quickbooks and Fishbowls. I believe improvements should be made so FB could interact with QB more effectively. For example, you should be able to receive items in FB without it generating a bill in Qb. Our shipping department receives the goods through FB. Our accounting department then has to open all the open bills for a vendor and figure out which one transferred from FB so they may update it accordingly with the Inv #, additional charges, and all other information shipping would not have from the packing slip. **What problems is Fishbowl Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have been able to add asset tracking to the system as well as customer asset repairs. It's so easy to move/view/run reports on committed inventory, which is necessary when selling across several platforms. **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** The lag time with large orders is what I dislike the most. Some of my sales orders have several hundred line items on their order, and this slows down the loading/shipping process. It's something that Fishbowl hasn't been able to figure out yet. **What problems is Fishbowl Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** Fishbowl helped solve our shipping errors with barcodes, and it helped us correct our inventory. The integration with Quickbooks is very nice, once you learn a few of the nuances of how to do things in Fishbowl so that they push over to Quickbooks as intended. We've used other programs but they did not work as well as this one. We've had to make adjustments, but they were easy to do. ### 50. Randy really helped us out with pointing us to the Sales Summary Report with the proper options set to give us the information needed for closing out the day properly. This was on ticket #13819 in case you are looking for info related to this report. They can probably look it up. We had been doing sales by hand before, and the system came just in time. We would not have been able to handle the sales traffic without the automation Fishbowl provides us. **What do you dislike about Fishbowl Inventory?** The wiki could use some updating, but support helps when needed. **What problems is Fishbowl Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has prevented us from needing to hire a second person to work the registers. It also prevents mistakes on tickets written up by hand.
