## FireHydrant Reviews
  ### 1. Seamless incident management with slack integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Incident escalation is good, incident tracing with slack is good

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Sometimes changing the status using slack bot does not work

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No need to use slack to check the context of messages.

  ### 2. FireHydrant- Amazing Incident Management Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dinesh P. | Site Reliability Operations Team Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant has great automation when it comes to incident management. I never used a tool that meet all my expectations. It is a perfect example of what all Incident Managers should use at their company. In addition, the customer success managers go above and beyond to help a user when in need of assistance and provide good documentation for the latest updates. The UI is very friendly. FireHydrant has come a long way, and I am sure they will meet all the user expectations.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Service-Catalog and Task List are not that useful.

**Recommendations to others considering FireHydrant:**

Make use of the automation.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Best approach to Incident ManagemenT, and making our lives easier when it comes to IMOC.

**Official Response from Mike Perez:**

> Hi Dinesh! Excited to see that you are happy with Firehydrant, both the platform and our Customer Service team. We hear you on the Service Catalog and Task Lists. We're currently working on functionality to make the Service catalog easier to configure and improve the integration to Incident Management. We just shipped a huge update to Task lists - would love to hear what you think!

  ### 3. Managing fires made easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

its slack integration and star emoji helps a lot in tracking an issue's timeline and make those starred messages stand out where they usually would just be buried below all the other non-important messages

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

sometimes I get lost trying to find something specific like the retro but I guess that's because I haven't used it that much as an Incident Owner

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

un-organized incident is the problem, and that's something FH is solving for us

  ### 4. Automation of Incident Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim B. | Director, SaaS Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

I manage a 24x7x365 engineering team, charted with monitoring, responding and initiation of Incident Management processes. Consistency is key to our success. FireHydrant has brought my team to a higher level of execution, consistency and excellence. The workflow and integration scope of FireHydrant was a force multiplier for Avalara.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Until recently, we didn't have the capability to manage access to runbooks. in addition, tracking of runbook changes created challenges around tracking changes.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to implement consistent execution of Incident Management propcesses. It solves the challnge of follow the sun support across three regions and timezones.

  ### 5. We have been actively using Blameless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lakshya G. | Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Its collaboration with slack and pager-duty and ease of use.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Nothing, I can think of for now as it's seamless and developer friendly.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly it is helping us with any RCA of the incident caused either by production systems and deployments

  ### 6. Easy to trace and solve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Incident escalation is good, incident tracing with slack is good

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Sometimes the slack boat of incident changing status does not work

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traceability and informing stockholders

  ### 7. Tool Is Useful but the UX is Terrible

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

- Useful for incident organization
- Easy to look up old incidents (if you know the number, not sure about the ui for this, never used it)
- Slack integration is nice

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

- UI is terrible. Looks terrible on a vertical monitor. Especially when writing and reading the retro/post-mortem. Blameless is in major need of some responsive design.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Useful for laying out all the different aspects of an incident and looking back on how it went.

  ### 8. Devs like it! Ops use it!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

It's helping us to re-imagine incident communication and bring compassion to failure. Documentation is good. API is intuitive. Integrations are painless, and best of all, it's not prescriptive!

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I dislike that I haven't had the time to explore all of its features. Jokes aside, I haven't found much fault yet with Firehydrant. Perhaps the one minor challenge for us to overcome is more of an internal thing - bringing multiple stakeholders from different worksapces into the same FH communication channel in slack.

**Recommendations to others considering FireHydrant:**

If you're trying to tidy up your enterprise, try it!

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to have a bunch of different slack threads for incident communication, and FH is helping to mitigate this problem (it's a problem because it leads to repetition and wasted effort). FH is also helping us to bring observability into incidents, which again helps to elminate repetition.

  ### 9. FireHydrant, a tool that facilitates incident response

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Veronika G. | Incident Commander, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant's runbooks make incident response simple, the ability to automate the creation of slack channels, zoom bridges and reminders makes it easy to orchestrate for all roles.
Task Lists is another feature that helps make the job easier when you are in a stressful situation, as you can follow it and ensure you are not missing any important task during the incident.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Before saying that there is something I don't like, perhaps I should say that it could be improved in the management of the alerts (paging) and in the configuration of the retrospective.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FireHydrant is used to perform Incident Response, in an orchestrated way.

**Official Response from Mike Perez:**

> Hi Veronika - thanks for your review! Glad that you love our runbooks and task lists. Regarding paging, we took an opinionated approach to paging to ensure that we could page appropriately across all major alerting providers. We are currently re-evaluating paging in the application and look forward to making significant upgrades soon. Retrospective configuration is another area of intense focus for the team in September '22.

  ### 10. Blameless makes it easy to track, discuss, document and review incidents.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

It breaks the roles needed for any incident: a commander, communication lead, and operational leader. It auto-generates a google meet for everyone to discuss the incident. Integration with JIRA to create follow-up tasks.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

The filter system can be better for finding all incidents the user was a part of, even if they did not create that incident.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a forum to quickly gather for investigating incidents and tracking how to resolve them.

  ### 11. Helped streamline our incident management process

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant is easy to use and understand, even for incident responders

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Licensing model compels orgs to restrict number of seats which can limit some of the functionality if you dont have a user account. It would be great if it were based on some form of usage, like the # of incidents.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps responding and documenting incidents, as well as making post mortem processes much easier to complete.

  ### 12. Straightforward and good incident automation tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The automation and the simple way to interact with it. It is helpful to have so many things done out of the box for us when managing incidents so we can focus on what matters the most.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Sometimes we need to perform actions that are not that clear and could cost us a little bit more time to find the correct tool/functionality to use. Besides that it is great.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firehydrant is solving our issues when handling production incidents which need to be tackled and solved as soon as possible, and all the formal managing and tracking of those issues is done by firehydrant.

  ### 13. It has very strong integration with slack

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Strong integration with Slack, incident timeline view

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

its pricing can be high based on number of user gets added in an incident

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident lifecycle management from slack itself.

  ### 14. Blameless helps organize how mobilization happens during an incident

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio T. | SRE, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Mobilization (slack channels, creating incidents with PD, and the ability to create workflows).

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

post-mortems are not prominent or not emphasized enough.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

organizing around incident management is notoriously tedious and blameless helps with that.

  ### 15. I've found blameless useful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

We can track our incidents as and when they happen. Tracking events and key points during a production issue is something I've found most useful during retrospective sessions

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Blameless doesn't automatically collect data related to the incident. If we could track key metrics where things went wrong, like integration with newrelic for apdex score

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of events helps us to not repeat the same mistakes

  ### 16. Great Product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Easily integrates with existing services, the automation is fantastic and overall makes incident management the least painful part of an incident!

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Ideally would have some more customisation at the workflow level in terms of branching paths etc.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It effectively acts as our incident management tool for everything - the integrations we have with our logging and alerting systems works fantastically

  ### 17. Incident management platforms and the perspective

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Facilities Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

It guides and helps to manage the incident process. Pretty fast to go from zero to hero with the platform. Supports some industry best practices like terraform, RCA's, Runbooks ect ....

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Seems to support github.com better than other platforms like gitlab.com or bitbucket.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a Site Reliability Engineer, it helps to guide incidents in a managed direction and away from chaos and pure slack management.

  ### 18. It's easy and good to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaue S. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

I like the flow and the reminders that help us to keep track of the issues and post-mortem meetings, documents, and actions.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I can't see any bad side still, I have used blameless for two months now, and before it, I was using only the tools available on PageDuty for this.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us to keep track of post-mortems and issues with a well-defined flow

  ### 19. Everything you need for an incident

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The command centre is pretty thorough. Everything for the incident is in one place

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

There is a lot going on in the command centre, but things can be hard to find. It would be nice to breakdown the navigation into sections

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Orchestrating & automating incident management. It benefits me by making sure that I follow protocol

  ### 20. Intuitive, quick and a great supporting staff

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael T. | Technical Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

We're getting exactly what we expected from this tool, and the fantastic people at FireHydrant are developing new features based on our feedback.
The platform is extremely intuitive. It takes almost no time to train people on how to use it.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

It is very hard to find a lot of faults or things to improve.
Overall our experience so far has been amazing. The team is working very hard to please us and fulfill our needs.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FireHydrant helped us to solve a couple of problems, mainly in streamlining our incident management process.
Now all incidents are properly being documented, all relevant parties are receiving incident notifications and post-mortems.

  ### 21. Database Reliability Engineer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis d. | Senior Data Reliability Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The UI is pretty straightforward, and the Slack integration makes everything easier.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

The search functionalities are relatively poor. I can go back a find what I want, but it could be more accessible.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gives me a structured way of collecting and compiling incidents in an organized way. Gives me a way of looking back at historical retrospectives or post-mortems.

  ### 22. Incident Management Made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan B. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Tons of integrations (we use PagerDuty, Jira, Slack, Meet and More) and easy-to-configure runbooks made onboarding teams to FireHydrant a breeze.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Nothing major to speak to here, the staff have been wonderful to work with and our users are glad to have the tooling to support our internal expectations.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FireHydrant is reducing the burden on our on-call engineering teams. We struggled to get teams to facilitate incident reviews (post-mortems) and by reducing friction in the process FireHydrant helps our teams capture valuable learnings.

  ### 23. Application Support Lead

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shankar S. | Application Support - Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

All features including screen layout, navigation etc

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

UI is not great, response time on some screens need to be handled

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

sometime the configuration are too complex, not that user friendly notations

  ### 24. Great intuitive User Interface and easy to understand.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Waleed A. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

A comprehensive overview of the incidents and where they are in terms of triage.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

None that comes to mind at this point as I'm still a new user.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blameless is providing a solution to easily detect and track issues and bugs and their progress.

  ### 25. Great service for incident management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Works well in bringing together the people needed to tackle the incident

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Nothing I can think of, it's an all round good tool

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident management which is faster and more automated than our previous system.

  ### 26. Great product that helps easing in incident handling processes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant integrates with major applications, allowing us to keep communicating in Slack and Zoom, and helps us facilitate better processes when handling incidents

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I'd like more integrations with ticketing systems. We use Linear app and there is still no integration to the product.
JIRA is supported though

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We lack a standard process that handles incidents. It is not clear where an incident is at the moment, what is the status, the severity and how to communicate its status to higher management.
FireHydrant allows us to facilitate the entire incident and adds a status page as well

  ### 27. Good Incident Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Easy to use for someone in a customer-facing role that always needs up-to-date information on incidents to update customers

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I wish the filter view had the ability for advanced filters through an SQL-like query rather than the basic click-through filtering. Allows you to get more granular when looking for a specific incident that you don't have much info on.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great at tracking incidents all the way from reporting to RFO.

  ### 28. New executive user

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

I like the integration with various systems such as Slack, PagerDuty etc. Also, I like the different workflows that can be created for different teams. Lastly the UX is simpler to understand

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Nothing so far. I have not used FireHydrant enough

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to track incidents and the detailed metrics that come with incidents. It also helps to track the action items needed to be followed after incidents are resolved

  ### 29. Pretty good incidents automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrei K. | SWE I, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Nice PagerDuty integration. Runbooks are easy to configure.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Slack bot is spammy and lacks configuration options.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a fairly complex incident management, and FireHydrant helps a lot with going through the workflow and not miss deadlines.

  ### 30. Product Support Lead

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** S S. | Product Support Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

UI
workflows
speed
easyness
support
documents

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

No Proper vidoes on explanation
response time of application

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

when IT apps downtime and it gets things online quickly

  ### 31. It is more than just incident management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Masaru H. | Co-Founder, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Flexible and powerful, with integrations that matter, made for people who care about incident management

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Terraform integration is still pending some resource types; documentation and validation can be improved

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teams can let FireHydrant support them as they do what matters the most: investigate and solve incidents. It provides clear and relevant information about services deployed, including deployment dates, versions, releases, and any external event that is relevant. More than just managing incidents, it permits quickly and conveniently communicating with internal and external customers about anything that is happening during an incident.

**Official Response from Mike Perez:**

> Thank you, Masaru! New resource types are being actively worked on and we're looking forward to enabling additional capabilities in the provider in Q3 2022.

  ### 32. One Stop Shop for Incident Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gandhi M N K. | Incident Commander / Project Manager 4, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The integrations are a game changer. The tool pretty much can talk to every other tool out there. The FH team has created a one-stop shop for incident management.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

The UI can be a bit better. At the moment everything seems to be available and is kind of scattered all over the place. Sequencing and organizing with time will do wonders.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident Management. We are able to bring together all teams and act quickly and responsively to incidents in real-time with minimal distractions. We are able to save time spent on process and use it to resolve incidents faster.

**Official Response from Mike Perez:**

> Thanks for the kind words, Gandhi! We are proud of our integrations and love to see how you've been able to tie Firehydrant in with the rest of your stack. In regards to the UI, we hear your feedback and we agree, a completely redesigned navigation and updated design system are actively being worked on.

  ### 33. Incident Reporting made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Incident reporting and tracking the incident.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I like all the things about firehydrant and nothing to dislike

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident reporting and tracking

  ### 34. It really helps your team to better manage incidents.

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Its integration with Slack is well done. I can participate on incidents without actually opening the FH site.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I can't find a way to subscribe to specific incidents (being notified) or to customize a dashboard for my personal interest.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can track status of incident and messages with in incident channel.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

nothing specific. I like most of the things Blameless do for us.

I don't need to use slack to check the context of messages. it is easy to track all messages on Blameless itself

  ### 38. Overall no issues with it, not as much functionality as Servicenow however.

  ### 39. A great tool that should be part of any SaaS company's platform.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant is an easy-to-use tool with fantastic integrations that streamlines incident management and communication flow. It has helped our teams learn from incidents through its retrospective features and build trust with our stakeholders when issues arise.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

It's still a new product, and I'm looking forward to the improvements with ownership and analytics.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FireHydrant has helped our company automate processes when incidents occur, helping uplevel our engineering, support, and account teams. It has also helped us improve our reliability by analyzing issues to focus on improvements that matter. We also use its analytics features to look at reliability in different parts of our apps objectively.

  ### 40. Streamlined our incident response patterns

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam W. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant runbooks! Runbooks allow me to tailor my incident response to cover various scenarios like internal incidents. It's not opinionated, so I don't have to follow what FireHydrant wants me to do. Instead, I have been able to incorporate my working processes and align them with a tool. Runbooks have also allowed me to introduce new processes over time, which has helped with improving my incident response work.

After runbooks, being able to generate timelines from incident channels has saved countless engineering hours.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Sometimes it's hard to tell how one of the integrations will work when deployed, though it's improved over time.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident response processes were very manual and required staff to read over process documents, along with being primarily asynchronous training for incident handling. These factors created an inconsistent incident response when problems happened, like production outages. With FireHydrant, we were able to take those documents and turn them into runbook steps. An example is when we need to prompt incident commanders (IC) for updates, we provide them with a list of helpful actions. Before, it was necessary to have an IC remember steps or be better about updating the status. Notifying incident channels, using PagerDuty to notify our support engineers to help with customer messaging, and containing history in a retrospective have all been big benefits.

  ### 41. Fairly positive, some bumps along the way

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Glenn N. | Staff Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The Slack integration is excellent, especially now that it's shortened to `/fh`. It's much more conducive to use.

The automated reports on the retro are also excellent.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Once the retro for an issue is published, you can't un-publish it to correct any errors or add items.

Adding the ability to un-publish or amend a retro would make it so you can solicit feedback async, as well as allow better collaboration with distributed teams.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems & benefits:
- Alerting for issues was not standard, FH has streamlined this
- Reporting on issues was easily lost or not done, also solved now that it's automated.
- Cadence for updating the status was inconsistent, also solved by automated slack reminders.

**Official Response from Mike Perez:**

> Hi Glenn, thanks for your review. Hoping those bumps along the way have smoothed out for you. While we currently don't allow you to unpublish retros, all updates made to a retro after publishing are reflected to any new copies of the pdf that is generated by FireHydrant.

  ### 42. Flexible, powerful product that keeps getting better

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2021

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Firehydrant Runbooks make orchestrating incident response intuitive - it's simple to construct complicated, multi-layer responses quickly. On top of this, the support from the Firehydrant team is superb - they're fast, knowledgeable, and always willing to take input on how to improve the product.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

There's little to dislike about the product or the people supporting and developing it! That said, there are a couple of basic features missing from the product (such as the ability to clone Runbooks!) that need to be added ASAP - I know the team are working hard to address these!

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firehydrant gives us the ability to respond in a rapid, automated fashion to incidents. For example, whereas previously we might manually create communications channels, the tool does this automatically for us. Additionally, the ability to automate on-call team pages is potent and has enabled us to reduce further our time to act in response to incidents.

  ### 43. Blameless helps us bring order to chaos

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2020

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Blameless helps us coordinate key incident responders and pulls in all the context we need to resolve production issues quickly. The Slack integration is key for us, and the ability to automatically designate roles and tasks helps us stay focused and structured. It also saves us time analyzing incidents by automatically creating postmortems and generating timelines from chat logs, graphs, and other key details.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I wish the developer documentation was more clear so we could build custom integrations.

**Recommendations to others considering FireHydrant:**

Highly recommend this solution if you're trying to reduce manual labor during and after incidents. Seamless integrations with common tools like Slack, Pagerduty, and Jira.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are streamlining our incident response process and reducing our mean time to resolution. In addition, we are using Blameless for better postmortem documentation and analysis. The reliability insights are also helpful, not just for engineering, but also for support and other business stakeholders.
