We're a B2B company that manufacturers telecommunication products... but when we brought in new products that fit in the B2C realm, we needed help. We needed a ground-up strategy to get our brand, products, and the underlying technology out to the world. Firecracker PR came highly recommended and did not disappoint, showing persistent (and necessary) pressure to keep us on track. The quote, "Help me to help you" comes to mind, and that they did. What do you like best?

When you run a small marketing department that is attending over 50 trade shows a year, running the North America website, supporting an internal sales team and well as dozens more in the distribution channel... it doesn't leave much time or manpower, especially to launch products into a new channel. Firecracker PR was fairly priced to allow us to effectively outsource this brand building and exposure. Honestly, it gives the impression that we have a much bigger team... and we're okay with that. What do you dislike?

While we all dislike taxes and aging, there's always a cost of living. Budget's are always an issue for us and unfortunately I still can't keep Firecracker on retainer. This is not a fault of theirs, but I'd highly recommend you find a way to keep them on tap. Starting and stopping loses momentum and really does hurt the effectiveness. Recommendations to others considering the provider:

I'd recommend the following action plan. Get on a call and have the initial discussion of what you want - then let them weigh in ... you may find that there's another way to reach goal that is better. Next, set a date of followup that is more aggressive than your comfortable... like dividends, the sooner your PR hits the road, the more it'll build in the long haul. Let them set more meetings (sorry) but it'll keep both teams on track. Lastly, they need your information- we were fortunate that Firecracker PR was already familiar with our technology and market, so share accordingly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the provider? What benefits have you realized?

Marketing, like sales, is a results-focused occupation. Firecracker PR secured interviews and reviews that we could NOT make happen ourselves. Over an intermittent period of about two years, Firecracker got our name in the press over 25 times, including C|NET, Digital Trends, and the Gadgeteer. What do you like best?

There are a few things I'd like to list here. To start, our team has appreciated Firecracker's collaborative approach with all tasks. They're a friendly and approachable team, always willing to assist with a bit 'lift'. Also worth noting -- and of equal importance -- is that the Firecracker team has been especially speedy in providing us with the written communications we need, always delivering materials in a timely manner, never missing a deadline. Finally, the Firecracker team has cultivated a number of excellent relationships with trade media, as well as mainstream media, which has helped to ensure we have constant media coverage. What do you like best?

I like how easy they are to work with. They offered me direct access to their key staff through Slack messaging since day 1, and they are very responsive there as well as over email. They never push back on any short term needs of mine, are always approachable, always deliver on time, deliver consistent quality, and provide efficient project management along the way. While I understand how difficult it must be to truly become experts in every of one's clients' domains, I sometimes wished they'd do a bit more on the side of "newsjacking" for us, or monitoring our customer activities to proactively suggest jumping on hot topics. Jennifer replies and provides quick turnarounds on the press releases we need, even when it's on a tight schedule. Len delivers consistently with great media coverage from big media outlets.
