  ### 2. Save time for your backend

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Mostly I like Firebase functions, cloud messaging etc. When I am starting with Firebase I have zero knowledge what is this new tech. But Less than a week I learnt lots of things because this is very easy to use. And also this is free to start and users can go farther with free package. As a student or a career developer Firebase saves money and time. In Firebase functions users can do any process which can do in a backend because it's using node package.

I have done several projects and also I am using a single account for many Databases and also they are connected easily.

Above I described main features that are users can use as a big benefit as a free package.
As a summary, Firebase, Minimum setup, real time, highly secure, serverless, 3 way binding via Angularfire etc.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Sometimes working with Firebase as everyday user I have faced many problems. At that time I had to get community helps. But sometimes it's very poor. I don't know the reason, there is low community for Firebase. And also users have to think and create solutions for some tech issues like deploying functions. And there is limited query and indexing, no map reduce, no aggregation etc.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

Try this. It's a free ticket to go big coding journey!

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have to do a project about a conference and I have to implement Firebase function for time calculation. Firebase is amazing because with DB data retrieving wit function calculation in a real time, that is happening very fasting more than I expected.

As a developer, I think Firebase is very powerful tool.

  ### 3. Firebase the best solution for back-end.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George N. | Technical adviser , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

my first time i crossed path with firebase was an interesting journey, there is nothing complicated as implementing a working and functional back-end on an application and the only way to make this process one thousand times faster is through the use of firebase, this cloud based platform handles all the complex work of authentication and API management, all you need to focus on as developer is the user interface. this product reduces the amount of time one will need to create a functional back end logic to interact with your database. its a great idea by google. thumbs on the google team.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

this is an amazing product, personaly i have issue trying to make changes in the way it works, this is quite difficult to set up delete and temporarily disable user interaction with content. a lot of flexibility if allowed would propel this application even further.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

this application will go miles if time is invested on finding a work around when it comes to pricing, the price can spike high every time a service is added, without looking at the usage metric.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Back end Authentication API management.

  ### 4. Google FireBase Review

it is really hard to implement in Unity-based games, but I manage to use them in android applications as well as games for database and analytics.

  ### 5. An incredible tool for web apps

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nic C. | SDO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Firebase is an extremely diversified set of tools that allows me to accomplish lots of tasks rapidly within my web apps that would typically take a very long time. For example, things like setting up databases is made incredibly easy with Firebase, with the added bonus of additional features.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Firebase is limited in its customization. While it is a diversified set of tools, it is also quite limited outside of its specific applications. If you need something slightly different from what is offered or need to modify something offered you are out of luck and need to build from scratch.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

Take full advantage of the Firebase docs. They have lots of information about features that I didn't even realize existed. In addition to this, Firebase is something that you really need to learn from the Docs with, as it is not as conventional as you would expect.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Firebase primarily for the Realtime Database/Firestore features. It has saved me immeasurable amounts of time that I would have to spend implementing and hosting databases. With RTD and Firestore I can accomplish the same thing in minutes, with better performance, reliability, and structure.

  ### 6. working with Firebase - My Experience & Opinion

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darshan D. | Information Security Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

The best thing about the Firebase is we are getting one common console for multiple functionalities in the mobile app or website.
The good thing is it is completely free and anyone can use it with a limited amount of knowledge of it.
The user interface is very simple and it has developed in a responsive manner.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

The only thing I don't like about the Firebase is not providing the guide or complete tutorial and because of this sometimes it is difficult to understand its feature and use. Adding into that as it is new in the market we will not get much info in blogs and communities.
Also, I have seen a delay in the sending notification to the user using the firebase notification feature.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

I strongly recommend this for the developer who wants a platform to manage their apps or site and that too completely free, Firebase is the best.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously I was used to integrating few functionalities with different modules and now everything I am getting in one console only. It has made my work so easy and simple to manage the apps.

**Reviewed by:** Raj P. | Android Developer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

I have been using Firebase for last 3 years for developing applications in android. One of the best things about it is that a true consistency it provides for data updates and hence a true sense of real-time updates. At the initial level and for beginners it provides all basic services free of cost which is enough and great. Also, with JSON database formate access for reading and write permission and another control is much easier. Even with low bandwidth it provides the updates and tries to finishes the pending queue, and that is really what I need for our users. Ultimately, Firebase is one of the best cloud-based real-time databases.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

There is nothing that I don't like in Firebase. Every feature it provides works optimally and also required for crucial database operations. However, one thing can be improved here is the support for the structured databases like SQL.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

Firebase is a very efficient and effective database solution and real-time data updates. As it is from Google, performance, support and cost all are very favourable aspects.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I and my team has developed a pilot project recently for sending location-specific updates to application users. for this real-time database like firebase is the perfect choice for us. Also, in most of the case, for user authentication module, we integrate firebase in our apps.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firebase allows us to respond to crashes and developing problems often before our users ever notice.

  ### 26. From Angel to Seed to Series A.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tsavo K. | CEO, Co-Founder, CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

As a co-founder of a tech startup, in the Midwest, Firebase and all of its products are great for getting off the ground quick and rapidly prototyping. Being in the mid-west developer talent is hard to come by and by going server-less with Firebase and GCP we can redirect our engineering talents towards client side efforts.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Very specific here: with real-time streams from Firestore, limits and advanced filters convert the stream into a single snapshot - defeating the purpose. I have not found a way around this issue yet.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

It's a fantastic place to start.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MeshMyCampus is using Firebase to create real time communication environments for universities at scale. We automatically create group chats for all of your classes, clubs, dorms, teams, and departments. Firebase helps us achieve that level of scale with real time fluidity at an affordable cost.

  ### 27. Best No-sql database for begginers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hansel C. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

If you are a newbie with No-SQL databases you definitely jump right into Firebase Realtime Database, you can read, write, delete and update your data quite simple, and pricing is just amazing, I personally use Firebase Realtime Database with side project because you can build an app super fast, Docs are amazing. But if you want something that scales I would not recommend it I would suggest you stick to SQL databases but it is not because of Firebase Real-time database it is because No-SQL databases can get quite messy when they grow.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

They do not let you download your data without backing it up.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

If you need to build an app fast, go for it!.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

saving, deleting , updating data quickly.

  ### 28. medical records for the refugees

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ahmad i. | electrical engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

the ability to transform the simple and the hard ideas into a real product to test with and start user testing that then moves you to edit your work and make as good as possible is just a unique feature that helped our projects to lead.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

i had to really suffer from the security issues that the user may face specially that we deal with medical records which is actually is very sensitive personal data that should be really secure

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

as mentioned before regarding the problems that we have to convince people more about security of their personal data which can be very helpful if you can do something about it as we already doing this thing for free for refugees

  ### 29. Game changer for realtime truck tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

The realtime database is very responsive. It allows us to upload location data for our tow truck fleet every second and provides our members with the ability to see where there truck is in realtime. Since a vehicle breakdown is already a stressful situation, the comfort of knowing where help is at any moment is invaluable. Firestore also provides a terrific companion for our not quite realtime data. The console is also very easy to use and the security rules offer a lot of flexibility.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

It would be great if there were more advanced query capabilities for Firestore, but it is an understandable architectural limitation that is a tradeoff for the great performance. For the realtime database, it would be great if there was a way to automatically scale as the load increases without needing to use a sharding strategy.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking tow trucks in realtime to provide our members with a higher level of comfort that help is on the way.

  ### 30. Overall enjoy Firebase, but need better docs

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

I like the resources available, like being able to use remote config and FCM. A lot of things that a mobile app needs are available in firebase.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

I think one of the issues we've run into is that we were trying to set a user attribute with RemoteConfig, but we could not get the flag to update in real time as quickly as we needed to. It seems to take a certain amount of time, or else you get throttled. It is not very convenient when we are enabling and disabling features for certain users that things don't update in real time, or we have to cache to avoid being throttled. We've also experienced some unknown issues with push notifications, where we randomly get a 500 response, with little to no explanation for why or what went wrong. We've reached out to the firebase team to discuss the issue.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use firebase for notifications, remote config, and more recently have started to use big query to analyze user activity.

  ### 31. Great Option for Beginners and Small Apps

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

I worded with a team of developers on multiple projects hosted on Firebase. The biggest project we worked on, relied on Firebase. For our engineers, it was very easy to use, user friendly and allowed for the basic functionalities we needed for our app.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

We honestly had concerns about how scalable our app would be was while hosted on Firebase. Although firebase was easy to use, the thought of having to rebuild on our own server was daunting after spending so much time on Firebase. I do wish there was a very simple way to migrate work done on Firebase to another server, whether a personal business server, or a google cloud server. That would have saved us tons of time, money, effort and anxiety. If there is a way to do this, more visibility on that would be helpful (especially for cases where specific approaches / hacks have to be used in order to build certain functionalities using firebase). Depending on the complexity of the app, firebase can be limiting - that is something we had to work around and saw as a potential problem in the near future.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our goal was to create an MVP in a short amount of time, with a team of developers - which requires ease of use, transparency, a simple platform and frankly and affordable option for hosting the app initially. For us, it served its purpose. I am just hoping to find a good option from migrating our work over to a server with the least time and complication.

  ### 32. Used firebase to act as SSO for one project and as a datastore for a simple todo/shopping list app

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andres R. | Software Developer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

The visual representation of the different projects and their sub folders.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

While the visual representation of the firebase console was helpful, at some points it did refresh on its own - when I made changes via the API - and other times I would have to refresh and there was a little bit of misalignment in the fields.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

Unsure, need more time to look at it.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The SSO aspect of using firebase to integrate different account policies on single page apps and other small/agile apps is great. Mostly internal business problems, since the SSO that we are using firebase for right now will be 'graduated' to something more private (not really my choice).

  ### 33. Fast to get off the ground

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel F. | Lead Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

APIs are easy to use, fast to get applications deployed in production ready environments. Innovation into new products like ML Kit

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Some basic features are missing. For example there is not way to add basic auth to hosting, which is a must when having staging and development environments.
Firestore lacks basic features like counting records. Keeping metadata on the firestore data becomes hard and unreliable.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

Pay attention to the community and implement basic features that developers are struggling to implement and should be supported native in the platform.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast web hosting. Serverless backends. On device object detection with ML Kit.

  ### 34. Awesome so far when teaching young developers how to create there first application.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martín V. | Front End Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

At the current moment what I love the most about it is how easily it can be learned by junior developers to launch an application.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Being able to have a free service for junior developers to use.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the current moment we are registering users for a flea market application. The goal for the application is for vendors to register themselves and sell there product online.

  ### 35. Pretty good if you need to start quickly

That has almost that you need to replace a backend service. You can focus in the UI.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Having a bad time when trying to create a complex query (pagination, skip, limit, joins) to a firebase database.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps a lot if you don't have time for building a backend.

  ### 36. Amazing experience for using Firebase

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the lack of connectivity on devices like in workshops, and so on

  ### 39. The best push notification service provider

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Petya B. | Full Stack Developer, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

It's easy to implement, the documentation is clear and reliable. They have great support as well. We use it for most of our projects and I have encountered almost no issues with it.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

The payload for the different devices can be a bit tricky when you're integrating it for the first time. Sometimes there is a delay in the push notification being delivered, but that has happened once during a downtime period for the service.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

It's a reliable push notification service

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used Firebase with Node on most of my projects that have an app. I am super satisfied with it and will keep using it in the future. It's great for native app - ios, android, as well as hybrid - I have used it with Ionic.

  ### 40. Firebase is great

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

I like the ease of setup and fast on-boarding. I think it's a great platform for mobile devs who may lack backend proficiency to quickly stand up a backend with ease.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

For me personally, I like greater control of my backend resources, which really isn't a dislike as much as a mismatch.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of infrastructure management and data sync. Productivity gains for the right class of developer.

  ### 42. Firebase: go to management system

  ### 43. A great, scaling backend, with some issues

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn T. | Owner and Lead Software Engineer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Firebase is easy to set up and get running. It scales with your needs. Everything is us real time, so when you make a database change, users see that change instantly across all of their connected devices! There are a lot of tutorials out there for Firebase to help new users get started.

The free tier offers a lot and anything beyond the free tier is relatively cheap, depending on what you are using it for. Crashlytics and User authentication are great features as well!

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Migrating to Firebase can be a bit complex. While there are a lot of tutorials out there, Firebase is quickly evolving and these tutorials are generally out of date, but can still apply in most cases. if you have a lot of users and are storing, accessing a lot of data, Firebase can end up being pricey.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

Firebase is feature rich and easy to use. Depending on your needs and uses, it can be cheap, or even free, but if you are pushing a lot of data, it could end up becoming very pricey. Overall though, it helps eliminate worry, offering a great, scalable back-end.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When creating one of our Android applications, we needed a reliable, scalable back-end. Through all of our searching, we concluded that Firebase was the best option. It has allowed us to quickly develop the back-end and put our priority and focus on the user experience, without having to worry.

  ### 44. Best database service in server-less world

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arijit R. | Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

The best and foremost thing that I like about firebase is the realtime database which is updated in real time and doesn't require any refresh commands.I used this functionality to develop a coding editor for my developer team for realtime code sharing. It has great authentication facility which makes sure that your security of the data is maintained. And it has tons of tutorial videos available on the internet which you can use to learn firebase because if you are a beginner it won't be easy to use firebase, but once you start using it you will definitely forget naive database storing systems. It also has a scalibility feature and the database can be scaled very easily without affecting any data in it which also a good thing about firebase.Apart from all these it is a service offered by google and is farmost the advanced database architecture. It also has a good support.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

The thing I dislike is that it is difficult for a new user to understand the usage of firebase easily but that shouldn't be problem because it is so much used that tons of tutorial videos are available on the internet.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

I would recommend using firebase instead of other database systems like mysql if your needs are satisfied by firebase because firebase is a light tool compared to mysql though it can be scaled to a bigger database it still has some limitations. If you project is totally dependent on database services than you should prefer other systems but if it is just a secondary part or some light usage of the database need to be done and if that service is provided by firebase like real time code than you should go for firebase.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use firebase for designing the database for the applications of my clients.I have also used it to develop a realtime code sharing for my team using firebase.I have a experience of 2 years in using firebase and till today it has served its purpose.I also recommended it to my colleagues to shift to firebase and now they are also enjoying developing database in firebase.
