## Firebase Reviews
  ### 1. A Good Software product for at least college projects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gulshan A. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

As a student, I have used Firebase a lot in my projects. Setting up your backend server & connecting it with the database takes more time & you also need to deal with security. Firebase Firestore makes it easy to use a ready db instance in just a few seconds. It also offers various login/sign-in options for your application. So I would recommend Firebase to anyone working on a side project or looking to fulfill business needs.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

The one thing I dislike about Firebase is its documentation. Its documentation is not that easy to understand. I think they should provide more easy & understandable tutorials.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I believe Firebase is making it easy for students and entrepreneurs to access backend & hosting services. They don't need to worry about database, security or even no need to dig into server-side complex programming; start using as much as you need. Firebase free plan is a boon for students like me.

  ### 2. One of the Best database and storage system ever!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Omkar S. | React Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

I have been using firebase for the last few months for website authentications, I must point it out the best place for auth and storing of users is FIREBASE!!!!!. It is easy to use, not to mention its availability of the most easy and descriptive documentation is a great plus. It is available for both server side applications as well as client side which makes its verification the best.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Firebase should include a free backend hosting like the one currently which hosts static websites.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before knowing about Firebase, whenever I needed to host a website or wanted a user management system, I had to create a separate DB model and then go through all the hectic procedures only yo register the user but after Firebase all this procedure has been gone with the easy integration of Firebase in only 10-15 lines of codes.

  ### 3. Best BaaS Provider

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bishal . | Chief Technical Officer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Firebase is a one-stop-solution for those who wants to connect their app with backend. The Spark Plan is free and is helpful for beginners to try out firebase products. Firebase has a clean and user friendly UI which does not confuse beginners. Integration with other google apps like AdMob and GoogleAnalytics is easy with Firebase.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

They do not have any live chat support for urgent queries. Mostly, documentations of Firebase are outdated and there is no proper documentation for usage.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firebase is a Backend as a Service provider and is a one-stop-solution for mobile app development. Starting from Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics, I don't need to leave the firebase dashboard for managing my app. I am using Firebase with Flutter though they support many other Programming Languages too.

  ### 4. Newer Crashlytics and even more!!!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zainab Z. | Integration Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

This has multiple things under one single umbrella. One can have realtime or firebase databases, add and integrate iOS, android or web apps. newer version of crashlytics etc.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

The free version supports lesser features. One has to pay a lot for accessing it fully.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has tremendously solved the problem of maintaining a real-time database and one can add users to different roles also for accessing the database. Also its realtime crashlytics helps a lot in improving the quality of support to users.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

I've used Firebase combined with React Native for the last four years for authentication, real-time database, analytics and messaging. It's excellent, and for the free tier, you get a bunch of storage, enough for your personal needs, I might say. Setting it is pretty straightforward in almost any stack (Flutter, React Native and Swift, as I have tried)

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

No first-class support for other technologies other than Flutter and native platforms. In React Native, you have the react-native-firebase library as a wrapper over Firebase to use any functionality. Still, once you move forward with your project, some functionalities require to set up use_frameworks static, which might bring problems with other dependencies, so you have to consider it when setting it up.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Firebase for storage, messaging, app crash analytics and authentication (social, email, or phone auth). It is an easy solution for solving most of those problems and allows you to have data persistence with offline support.

Firebase is one of the best tools for building mobile services. It has the major batteries included and can save a lot of time while building the app and launching it on the play store. If we compare it with a traditional backend service, we can save a lot of time without reinventing the wheels. It also has good tooling for flutter, if you are looking to build as a cross-platform app, this is the best platform.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

It can be expensive if you get a lot of users, you can rewrite expensive services to traditional backend technologies as a part of migration/ cost reduction

**Reviewed by:** Khushi A. | Full-stack Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Being an app developer I frequently use Firebase. It is truly a beck-end solution that can manage authentication, real-time database and host as well. I like that it offers all sorts of authentication (verification of phone number, email id, and all social networks). Firebase provides push notifications for mobile apps and crash handling.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Among the main challenges of using firebase are Real-Time Database limitations such as limited querying and filtering capabilities and too much duplication nevertheless these flaws would seem a little far-fetched to the most professional beck-end developer.
Limited SDK such as the absence of offline commitment, the firebase javascript SDK does not support data caching.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firebase Crashlytics helped me to track, prioritize and fix stability issues that can erode app quality in real-time . It solved my problem of crashing so easily.
Google Analytics provides valuable metrics about your user retention, user engagement rates, or any other type of user behavior data.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

I mostly use Firebase to create custom messages to send on specific events in my app. I like setting up a conversion event and analyzing the number of clicks and impressions.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

I dislike that there always seems to be a bug on an event, so I can't send the message where or when I want. Not sure if this is always a firebase issue or an issue with my events, but there always seem to be restrictions and things I can't do when preparing campaigns.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firebase does allow me to set up campaigns and send custom messages, with images, to my user base. I can analyze the campaign results and see how many users saw the message and how many interacted with it. We also use it for analytics, but I am still learning that portion. I find it helpful to see all my events and the number of users that triggered that event to determine which events to use for my campaigns. They also have an a/b testing feature that I am excited to explore.

  ### 31. Great experience using firebase

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Realtime functionalities and NoSQL databases are the best for building scalable and modern web applications. On the other hand, authorization and authentication are good enough to develop any mobile or web application.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

It is slightly expensive and has limited flexibility. Due to its limited storage and minimum concurrent active users in the free plan, it is not suited for managing large volumes of traffic or data. Instead, paid plans must be purchased.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Firebase, the developer does not have to think about backend databases and application architecture. Firebase helps developer for making the application process faster.

  ### 32. One-stop solution to cover most service needs for your mobile application

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pavel M. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

One integration with Firebase gives a ton of features to your mobile product:
1) crashes - detect and fix issues early, must have unless you are willing to migrate to other services targeted at crashes specifically
2) top-level stats - analytics yet limited still provide you with a great overview of the application usage
3) remote config- enable time limited features when necessary, disable features that do not perform well, segment experience based on data.
4) hosting and database -you may not need huge complicated backend at least to get started or even when you have it there is still a ton of use for ready-made firebase bits and pieces.
5) functions - another backend alternative. Some small services can or sometimes should rather be a small function deployed to firebase (or any lambda alternative)
6) a/b tests - making data-drive decision is the key for every product.
7) user attribution - again limited, yet you can get top level data split at
7) push notifications - start communicating with your users fast, promote updates, draw attention to important features

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

1) analytics can be greatly delayed and access to event property segmentation is limited at best, assortment of charts is limited to basic quantity/funnels. Again complex computation in event props is not possible. Custom formulas or monetary calculations are not possible
2) a/b tests - incredible on their own, however, delayed analytics hugely limits your experiment flexibility when you want a reaction to early actions.1) analytics can be greatly delayed and access to event property segmentation is limited at best
3) push notifications - again easy entry, yet extremely limited segmentation and automation which is hard to compare to communication first services

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote configuration and experimentation - you need to evolve fast and adjust fast. Ability to control features and analyze experiments is the key requirement for application growth nowadays.

  ### 33. Amazing features and easy for beginners

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yash W. | RPA Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Firebase has a lot of features that provide very good integration with the application. It is easy to implement and it is quick and efficient. It has a great dashboard with various statistics with details about daily users, active users, API calls, and a lot more. Also, firebase helps in keeping track the app crashes and notifications management.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

It is sometimes buggy and it crashes. I feel It is not that secure. It shares a lot of data with 3rd party integrations and sometimes I feel that sensitive data might also have been shared. It is not that suitable for large data sets because, for large data sets, we have to provide a fee. I feel the free tier is almost the same as the paid version. So, its free tier itself is filled with features that every beginner needs.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firebase helps in keeping track of your application from downloads to the users. We get details statistics of every user and download that we get. It has a great management system for everything and dashboards help in understanding a lot of stuff. Its push notification system and crash reports help in understanding the root cause of the issue.

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Very easy to use. We can concentrate on business logic without thinking above coding for database. Features in firebase are very flexible. Someone who does not know database coding can also build services without difficulty.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

There is nothing in firebase to dislike. Everything is good.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do not know database coding, but I need to generate service URLs. Then I researched firebase and found it easy to generate service URLs without knowing database coding. I even created Service URLs for CRUD operations.

  ### 36. East to use at the beginning but nightmare to scale up.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meher Reddy R. | Research Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

The documentation is very beginniner friendly. The cost is free for certain limit so easy to setup personal projects. Multiple services are available which makes more easy to manage.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Firebase database even though it is easy to use and easy to setup. If you look at the documentation you'll see even for paid version the usage caps at a certain point. So it is not suitable for corporate products.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firebase helped in quickly building my personal projects. It also helped me in getting started with the database and development environments. It helped me with fast deployment.

  ### 37. A free analytics tool with enough info to make decissions

**Reviewed by:** Alejandro R. | Marketing, Computer Games, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

It's free and created by Google, which means data is almost 100% accurate

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

It could give a bit more info about the audiences of an app or game

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It help us to make decissions in our games depending on how users perform

  ### 38. Best managed database I came across

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MAYANK S. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

The best thing I liked about firebase was the offline feature, it's a cloud-based database but you can still use it in offline mode. This makes your application highly available for your users.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

In my use case, I haven't come across any such thing.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to store data in JSON/NoSQL format. I used it for an analytics application where we were storing user details in firebase. And later using that data for analysis. In a web-based application. It was a B2B application.

  ### 39. Fast to setup

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yuriy Z. | Top Rated Freelancer | IT Contractor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Big collection of tools in one place with easy configuration.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Heavy SDK which sometimes bring various problems to the project especially when you configure it with Carthage

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Receiving crash repors and analytics

  ### 40. Use case from a Marketer's Point of view.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sai P. | Content and Retention Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Firebase is very easy to use and helps in the design and development of highly scalable and efficient android applications.I use Firebase to export app events to google ads and then run in-app event-focused campaigns on these events. Results have shown that these campaigns garner high better quality audience than the campaigns optimised on third-party analytics attribution platforms.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Firebase provides basic data analytics functionalities and can not be considered the most accurate source of truth for user journey optimizations based on data.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

Firebase can be a great choice if you are starting with your app development as its documentation is detailed and elaborate and the support team helps in immediate doubt resolution.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Firebase for its Real-time analytics dashboard that gives us real-time sessions, app open and other metrics data. It also helps us identify the crash rate and stability of different app versions and compatibility with various mobile devices and models. This is a significant step as it helps us in setting up our marketing campaigns with precision after removing low-performing device models.

  ### 41. Mature data streaming solution, needs improvement in toolchain

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Data streaming works really well out of the box. Takes care of network fluctuations and drops automatically. Pricing is really good compared to others.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Reliability issues in service, even paid plans don't have immediate support system making it less optimal for live events. Can scale to great strengths with advanced in-house solutions but not out of the box. Managing multiple shards cloud functions is a big mess.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real time data pub/sub is needed in most of the apps as they move to providing live updates or collaborative features. Data synchronization functionality was very helpful for us in building the same.

  ### 42. Firebase is a great set of tools to build scalable applications

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jorge N. | Principal Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

It has a lot of tools that help little companies to start building great applications without the necessity to spend a significant amount of money and effortlessly.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

It would be nice to improve the ANRs and Native Crashes detection. Some tools are also very useful but they are as expensive as useful too. The performance tools are improvable too.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firebase gives you great tools to start building great applications without spending a significant amount of money. It is easy to start, easy to add new tools to your app, and also easy to remove them.

  ### 43. Firebase review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avez P. | Team Lead, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

The all-in-one service from google for your small/mid-size organization provides all the features needed in application development, like Real-time DB, Crash analytics, cross-platform SDKs, Mobile application distribution and many more.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

They should be more specific in terms of the crash logs. Apart from this, all good.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developing, Maintaining and distributing Android and iOS applications.

  ### 44. UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Siva K. | SOFTWARE ENGINEER, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Super easy to deploy to the server (much better than AWS in this). Great, easy to use UI and advanced features.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

The main disadvantage is the search facility

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My business managed to setup our application to production within a month thanks for the super detailed documentation.

  ### 45. Very reliable notification pushing tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anirban S. | ex Senior Manager - Marketing, Education Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

The best part of Firebase is that I can preview the push notification before sending it, which ensures that there are no changes of mistake. Also, the analytics (notification performance) visualisations are nearly real time and start showing up as soon as the notification is pushed.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

The only point of dissatisfaction with Firebase is that I cannot upload images directly unless I upgrade to a higher and very expensive plan. So, this feature should be made inclusive in the normal Premium plan itself.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

Try pre-scheduling notifications as sometimes on-spot sending lags a bit if too many notifications are in the pipeline.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Earlier we used internal tools for handling the in-app push notifications and it had both high bounce rate and low open rate. Firebase has helped us to increase the number of deliveries of push notifications by several times.

  ### 46. M y Experience with Firebase

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nalin A. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

It is a cloud-based service that provides many features. I mostly used an in-app messaging service with my mobile application. This service is completely free. Other services also have a free tier and can be used these service with limitations without paying.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

If you plan a production-level application with a lot of traffic Firebase might be expensive. Need to pay a high amount of money to consume their services. When comparing other cloud services Firebase has a small number of services.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

I have been using AdSense for 3+ years now. You can create an account easily no need credit or debit card. The special thing is can be used many services at free of cost. If you are going to make a proof of concept app this platform provides a lot of features.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I created a mobile application and need in-app messaging capabilities. Most existing services are paid but Firebase's in-app messaging service is totally free. So it gives more benefits for me.

  ### 47. Powerful tool for app development and real time user activity

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Satya V. | Growth Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Firebase is easy to operate and we can perform analysis on various cohorts of users in the overview dashboard itself. We can continuously monitor the sanity and regular flow of our events in the events section and see the performance of various app versions and the crash percentages in different mobile devices too.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Attribution is only available for ads run through Google ads and not for other media sources.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

Firebase is a great app development tool and can also be used for analytics and sending notifications by early stage startups as it is almost free of cost.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firebase is our android application development platform and therefore it acts as our core database for all app-related event firing and integration with ad platforms. It helps in top-level analysis of installs coming through the play store (organic) and the ones that are attributed to Google Ads. The real-time dashboard shows us active users on the app and also gives some visibility about week-on-week retention.

  ### 48. User experience as a Marketer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Swati R. | Digital Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Firebase is an excellent tool while beginning with the app-building journey. Through the means of real-time dashboards, it gives a fair and exact understanding of Daily Active Users and media source level retention and acquisition data. Firebase can also come in handy if you do not have any CRM tool in place as it helps in setting up notifications for small data sets.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Attribution is not very accurate and there is a huge ingestion lag of almost three days. Overall firebase is not a very reliable app analytics tool if the DAU or MAU is of the count of millions. Also, Facebook doesn't send its data to Firebase and hence it is challenging to attribute data to the right media sources.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

Firebase is the best app analytics tool for startups with limited access to funds, therefore it provides good analytics at a contained cost so if you are considering Firebase for your app's SDK integration and analytics then definitely go for it.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Firebase for app analytics and media source level attribution, monitoring real-time active users, user split mapped to their acquisition source (organic and google). It also helps us with a user-level split across different app versions and sends alerts in case of app crashes. The best part is free version has almost the same benefits as the paid version.

  ### 49. Awesome for testing distribution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin M. | Senior Android Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Its console, distribution system and remote properties

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

Error handling is not the best, but is not that bad as others as testflight

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

QA Builds

  ### 50. Effortless Backend !

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarthak V. | Team Lead Manager - Product Innovations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Firebase?**

Firebase is just awesome. The best part is the variety of services that you get in a single package and everything working together seamlessly.
You get all the services that are required generally for any mobile/web or any app.

**What do you dislike about Firebase?**

The fact that regions cannot be switched once the project is initialized. There should be some automated way to do this, even if it results in some downtime, but it should definately exist.

**Recommendations to others considering Firebase:**

To get a headstart and bring your idea to life, this is the service you should go for.

**What problems is Firebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firebase is my go to platform nowadays for any mobile or web app I am making. It is easy to add, reliable, scalable and above all everything at one stop kind of a service.
