"Useful for what it is"
3.5/5
What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?

It's very helpful as a place to perform a very specified task. I like that once I know what I want, I can get a really good product from FineReader. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?

It's hit or miss with some pdfs. Older ones especially. Further, I wish it offered more value in a way that differentiates it from Adobe. It's branding and look probably contributes to this Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GREAT HANDLING OF PDF AND OTHER DOCUMENTS"
5/5
What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?

I love the ease of use and options for working with various file types... Editing pages and putting together large documents of different types is a breeze. Need different file types for home banking? or working with photos? no problem... it's all there!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?

I first used Abby FineReader when it was a single one time purchase and use subscription without yearly fees which made it better for that than other products... but the subscription is more than reasdonable given the products features and ease of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent tool to capture content and convert into usable formats"
4.5/5
What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?

I use FineReader PDF for Mac. The best feature is the seamless integration to my iPhone. With the click of a button, it will engage my iPhone and use it like a scanner. It will allow me to capture multiple pages from my iPhone. It will then let me manipulate what I capture using all of the great editing tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?

The only reason I didn't give it a perfect 10 is because I can't use it to just capture an image of a document. FineReader PDF wants to convert everything to a PDF. I get that. But it would be nice if I could use the capture feature to just capture an image on my Mac and not convert it to PDF or Word or one of the other cool formats I might need. "Use of ABBYY for converting technical papers to Word or Excel"
5/5
What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?

The overall performance is well enough for technical papers. Perfect positioning and settings resulting to original look of the Word - document. I use only ABBYY for the reason that it fulfills my epxtectations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?

Poor converting of tables with columns and both numbers and letters - ABBYY is not able to follow the font and positioning of the original tables, meaning that I will have to edit every table and this is a time-taking painful operation! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Usually accurate OCR."
4.5/5
What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?

Usually accurate OCR. Latest version better than previous one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?

Editing text blocks and sometimes graphic elements (like vertical line streaks) is kludgy. When drawing a box around elements to be deleted, one should be able to hit the "Delete" key to make it disappear instead of right click and then a Delete. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
