**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

It does OCR of my scaned documents

  ### 3. Good for extracting tables from PDFs. Expensive.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2023

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

Works very well for converting tables in pdfs into excel/csv files even where the tables are stored as images in the original document. Unlike many solutions it retains the formatting.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

I liked it better when there was a fixed cost for owning it outright than this subscription model. Now I only subscribe during those months when I absolutely need it, using non-commercial alternatives otherwise.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting data tables out of published papers and reports.

  ### 4. An excellent tool for all pdf editing and OCR.

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2023

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

The seamless integration of to my phone is the feature that makes me come back to FineReader again and again

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

The pricing is costly for the services it provides as there are much cheaper alternatives out there

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are many pdf editors but none of them have the speed or ease of use like FineReader

  ### 6. I was expecting good OCR since FineReader has many languages to choose from

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Volker K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2023

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

I'm not sure if there are any features which are superior to other products

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

While there are many languages to choose from, OCR is horrible. The product incorrectly adds blanks to many characters so editing becomes a nightmare.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since its OCR is no good, it is not solving any problems but creates a new problem.

  ### 7. Abbyy Fine Reader 15

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guy D. | Electronic Service Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2022

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

I learned to use Abbyy FineReader by myself starting about 4 years ago. I went through a learning curve, and I keep learning. I started with a few small books and then a few 500 page books. I have now completed an 1800 page Latin / French Missal, with dual columns, tables, pictures, vertical texts, etc. I created my own user dictionary of almost 12000 words. All this on an old Intel Pentium CPU G860 @ 3.00GHz with 8M RAM!!! I have now started work on a 2000 page Spanish / Latin Missal, having imported the same user dictionary I had created. Thank you FineReader 14 & 15.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

While FineReader PDF did all I needed it to do, there are small things that I think may improve its efficiency, but then again I'm not a software developer.

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

This product did a great job for me in digitizing old books.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have digitized a few old books for charity that may not be available in the near future.

  ### 8. FineReader PDF Makes PDF OCR a Breeze

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colby M. | Accessibly Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

I use FineReader PDF regularly to OCR full image documents that I come across when working with PDFs. The software is super easy to use and always comes through with great results. Would recommend it to anyone looking for great OCR software.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

The only dislike I have regarding the software is at times it is difficult to get the proper settings to ensure that the PDF doesn't lose quality with exporting

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

use FineReader PDF regularly to OCR full image documents that I come across when working with PDFs. The software always provides great results and being able to edit any errors that could occur is a great feature as well.

  ### 9. User friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

This was easy to use, especially for a novice. Needed to combine and edit pdfs. One of the greatest features was the ability to convert a document into an OCR pdf. I found Adobe to be unclear for what I needed. This was very straight forward.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

I suspect there are many more detailed features in other programs. However, I only needed basic tools. An expert in pdf work might want greater flexibility than this offers.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This streamlined time for me because of its ease of use. Didn't have to spend a ton of time learning how to use it. I was able to begin my project right away.

  ### 10. The most accurate easy-to-use OCR recognition for Windows

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John M. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

Abbyy Finereader is very accurate in OCR and fast enough even on my old PC. I tried a number of alternatives because I was releuctant to pay the price of an Abbyy licence and I kept results for different software and compared them all. There was a method using command-line that was quite accurate, but it was nowhere near as easy as using Abbyy. I decided my time is valuable and bought an Abbyy licence.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

As the name suggests it is geared to PDF and assumes the end result will be PDF whereas I also wanted text to use in a markup workflow. But it was easy enough to get that out of Abbyy after setting a few preferences.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was digitally archiving an amateur magazine that I created in the early 1980s which was done with a typewriter so the font was challenging.
Also I have used Abbyy to edit PDFs which is a bonus feature.

  ### 11. Best PDF editing and book OCR in the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** oytun s. | Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

Ability to determine and change the fields in the layout of a scanned page. Marking the pics and text independently. Editing without spoiling the layout. You can even translate within ABBYY on the existing layout and save as a PDF again in a new language.
Ability to process scanned pages in a true-to-the-original layout with very high OCR accuracy.
The way the projects are saved" You can find all the original scans and the work done in one folder.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

Could have a better hyphenation recognition for divided words in scanned books.
It recognizes page numbers as the page numbers of scanned book pages most of the time but there are mistakes. If you mark it as a book, they all could have been handled as page numbers in a project for example, instead of you correcting them one by one in case of mistakes.

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

In my experience, if you are looking for high document editing capabilities in your OCR software and utmost control over the layout of your documents and PDFs, ABBYY Finereader seems like the best value for your money.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for scanning books; OCR and non-OCR scans of texts for creating PDFs; Editing PDFs.

  ### 12. A simple and powerful OCR!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vincenzo P. | Titolare, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2022

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

Simplicity of use, intuitiveness, efficiency

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

There are no particular negative aspects; the only small flaw is the management of overlapping selection areas, but it is absolutely manageable.

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

FineReader does not have major difficulties in use, it is very intuitive. It can also be used by people not very accustomed to using software of this type. Additionally, it is very fast!

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FineReader is a very clear and intuitive OCR, which allows me to transform PDFs into the format I desire with ease. I have also tried other OCRs, but this one has the best cost-benefit ratio!

  ### 13. FineReader PDF works better than expected

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grafton K. | Flight Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2022

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

FineReader PDF scanned and OCRed large technical documents with tables and fine print. It was a great surprise to see it recommend using a higher resolution scan in some cases. The higher resolution worked well. I used the "reverse even pages" option and it automatically re-orded scanned pages properly.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

There should be an "undo reordering" feature and a "restore original order" feature when using the "reorder pages" command. It's very simple to mess up the order and then have to manually reorder the pages, or just give up and re-scan. It was not immediately obvious that you have to select a range of pages to use the "reorder pages" command. The option is grayed-out if only one page is selected. Perhaps it could be always active, but then say, "Select two or more pages to reorder" or confirm the pages to be reordered.

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

When scanning documents, try to use a paper feeder if possible. I was able to scan 20 pages at a time. Because FineReader PDF may prompt you to use a higher resolution for some pages, try scanning pages with small print or table data in small batches first.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have project documentation that is printed and stored in three-ring binders. It's vital to have searchable copies of the documents shared with members of the project and other stakeholders.

**Official Response from Denis Komarov:**

> Hello Grafton,

Thank you for your valuable feedback!

We have forwarded all the information to our Research and Development department.

For the issue with "undo" feature, we currently have the following solution: after reordering pages you need to right-click on any page, and select Reorder pages, then select Undo last operation: https://www.dropbox.com/s/olnfe0552whhur4/img-2022-04-06-16-20-30.png?dl=0

  ### 14. It works well with new languages not in the software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dennis W. | Self Employed, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

This software is incredible. I needed a way to scan documents from languages not in the FineReader database. This software provided the simple tools to select all characters in a new language. I work with native languages in the remote areas of Honduras and Nicaragua. There are no tools for scanning in Miskitu. There are many things printed, but the character set contains elements that are not in standard languages, such as Spanish. This software enables me to choose the language name and then select its character element base. When the software reads the scanned sheet it always picks up the correct elements and I have a copy in Word that can be edited.
Thanks for a great tool.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

I have not found any problems with the tools and they really help simplify daliy activities.

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

This product works and solves problems

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As noted the ability to create a new language group of elements makes this product a solution.

  ### 15. A trusted tool that doesn't get in the way

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

Takes print, soft (PDF) documents and returns them in the format I want.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

If I want to sort out formatted print (columns, tables, images) I have to work a little harder to get what I want.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using secretarial effort and time. I can process the documents myself.

  ### 16. Good product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vincenzo O. | Dirigente, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2022

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

I like the OCR and all functions included in this product. I appreciated the easier use and the immediate work with it. I can suggest acquiring it to work easily and speed.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

Nothing. Everything works and there are no improvements to be made

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

I recommend ABBYY for managing and editing PDFs. It is a very efficient and effective product.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solved many problems related to the use of PDF transformed into WORD or Excel saving me a lot of time due to the recreating of documents in manageable digital format.

  ### 17. My experiences with the Abbyy FineReader

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2022

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

I have been using Adobe Acrobat Pro for editing since 2008. For the last used Adobe Acrobat XI, there were no more security updates, so I looked for an alternative when purchasing a new PC. Adobe Acrobat DC Pro was ruled out because Adobe only offers it as a subscription version.

After comparing various programs for editing PDF documents, I decided on Abbyy Finereader. On the one hand, I can use Abbyy Finereader as a private user on 2 privately used PCs. Additionally, the Abbyy Finereader package also includes the "Abbyy Screenshot Reader" tool as a bonus.

Before purchasing, I contacted Abbyy's support. I quickly received a response in German. The purchase through Abbyy's homepage was also straightforward.

After downloading, it was relatively easy to install the program and set it up as the default PDF program under Windows 11.

The settings and setup after the first start were simple and self-explanatory. I quickly found my way around the interface. This applies to both the start screen and the editor interface. After a short familiarization, I quickly found my way around.

The OCR editor works relatively well. The documents converted so far largely retained their formatting. The texts themselves were also very well converted. For me, Abbyy Finereader operates at a similar level to Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.

Scanning documents is also simple and reliable.

I am thrilled with the stamp tool. Here, dynamic stamps can also be created, where you can automatically specify, for example, the date and time.

I find the screenshot reader brilliant. This allows the marked areas to be copied and saved either as an image or as converted text. A real added value of the program.

In the month that I have been using Abbyy Finereader, it has proven to be a worthy successor to Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. I can only recommend the purchase.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

So far, I haven't noticed anything that wouldn't be good.

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

I can recommend the purchase of Abbyy Finereader.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use the FineReader privately. It has all the functions I wish for from a PDF editor. Additionally, I can install it privately on 2 PCs.

  ### 18. The best OCR software there is

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sylwester Z. | Quality Assurance Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

The accuracy of the OCR on scanned documents is just amazing. Windows version is far better then Mac, but both gives You the same OCR accuracy, which is great. The easy of use of Mac version is also worth mentioning.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

The Mac version of FineReader is a little bit too simple comparing to Windows version. I would really love if the 2 versions could be more or less the same, functionality wise.

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

If you want the best - go with Windows version. If You want easy of use - Mac version it is

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Mac version for all my Home OCR needs, and it has been great. It is easy to use, and helped me to go "paperless". Windows version is much more capable though. So if You need solution for Your business - Windows it is...

  ### 19. Works well but needs improved interface

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randal O. | Economist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

ABBYFinereader is able OCR of all sorts of documents and typefaces. I like the fact that I can choose to have Finereader rotate the documents for diagonal text or not (my preference is not).

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

1. It would be nice to drag-and-drop documents onto an icon in the dock or within the software itself.
2. After doing an OCR for one document, all successful attempts to do an OCR fail. That means I have to quite ABBYY Finereader after each OCR.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My previous OCR software didn't work for many documents and sometimes made the PDFs double in size. Finereader solves these problems.

  ### 20. Decent product, but ass-backward company

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

The OCR is top notch, and the speed is quite good. It's certainly not difficult to use, either.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

When you purchase a software product from any other company in the world, you are free to download it again at any time. You can also retrieve your license using your account. Not with ABBYY! Boy, you'd better keep the installer and license backed up somewhere, because if you ever need to reinstall or put it on another machine, you will NOT be able to get it from ABBYY. This is outright stupid.

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

Accept that you are dealing with a company stuck in 1996.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm converting books into digital copies as a form of backup. Had a water scare that almost got to my collection of books, so I am not taking chances.

  ### 21. The best PDF reader/editor I've ever used!

This software is the best at converting OCR to a variety of document formats!

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past, I manually entered all of my receipts into a spreadsheet. I was thrilled to find that Finereader can scan, recognize and transfer all of my data into a spreadsheet automatically.

  ### 22. Great PDF program for a reasonable price.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

Watch youtube videos on the features, it really helps to learn everything it can do

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to use a quick and efficient tool for table extraction has been a great boon to my effort to speed up my processes. What took days now takes hours

  ### 24. FINE READER FOR CONVERTING PDFS TO DOCS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2022

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

It helps me a lot with the formatting when I receive documents that are non-editable and need to convert them into Word documents

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

The quality of the conversion could be improved, primarily due to the fact that a lot of tiny text boxes are created instead of for example a table which can be easily editable against source

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

I think it is one of the best converters in the market, I would love if this software could be improved but have not used any other showing better results

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Document conversion mostly PDF conversion into word, but sometimes images into Word as well

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

Ask the team for a free test license if you want to check it out!

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 26. OCR Front-runner: Better End Result than Acrobat Pro DC

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

Tl;dr. If you have a good computer and don't mind some extra processing time and storage, then FineReader produces a superior output.

FineReader uses multiple cores if necessary, so as far as text recognition is concerned, FineReader is faster than Acrobat Pro DC. Note this with a caveat because when you first create an OCR project, it takes time to load ("add") pages, and exporting a recognized project takes longer. However, if adding pages is a means of preprocessing, I wouldn't mind this extra time because the resulting file has a superior quality to Acrobat's result. There are ways to customize the output in the Export dialogue, so play with it until the result is satisfying.

Here is why I think the end quality is superior, assuming you are using the default settings and keeping the image (aka text under the image). The most noticeable difference is at the text edges — FineReader preserves the thickness of the characters, so the night/inverted mode works equally well as it is on the white paper. I played with the settings on Acrobat but with no luck — the output sort of eats away the edge, and as a result, the characters become thinner and edgier (doesn't mean any sharper). I haven't spent as much time comparing the picture quality. FineReader's output files are generally much larger than Acrobat's and have less pixelating (haloing) around the line edges.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

Here comes the only major downside I can think of. OCR project files are massive! High-quality scans of three books resulted in 16 GB (390 pages), 21 GB (500 pages) and 24 GB (600 pages) of storage. I got myself an external SSD just to store these project files in case I need them again. If you need to process a document once and not save the project, however, this shouldn't be a concern. Wait, you still need enough space for the running project.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am creating a high-quality, readable, and searchable document out of a high-quality scan. The most prominent benefit is not losing the quality of the scan while being able to customize the export settings depending on the need.

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

I like how FineReader Pro is a best-in-class solution for OCR.

I like how there have been substantive improvements in FineReader 15 over FineReader 14, especially in regards to PDF viewing and editing.

I also really like that FineReader allows me to reorder the content on pages so that it renders correctly when the final document type is an EPUB or is plain text.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

I dislike that FineReader doesn't do handwriting recognition.

I dislike that FineReader uses temp locations for part of its install which makes it one of the more commonly corrupted software on my PC.

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

Be aware that ABBYY also has mobile phone apps, a thin/web version, and also enterprise services.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At work, I am able to quickly get reliable text from screenshots using ABBYY Screenshot Reader.

My original and main use has been turning scans of books into EPUB documents.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Huseyin D. | System Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2021

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

Previously I was using its Windows version, and it worked really well. Now I have switched to macOS, and still working so stable. Results are always accurate if you give a clear writing page. Also, it has many export options into different document styles. It is working quickly and is stable.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

I was using document comparison on Windows, but the m1 macOS version doesn't have that feature. Prices are a bit high.

**Recommendations to others considering FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac:**

If you need an OCR scanner, it is one of the best.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I have a document (especially pdf), I use it to describe the writing and edit them in a text editor.

  ### 32. A great timesaver.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

The accuracy, even without training it to recognize more difficult text. But even beyond that, raves for the tech support folks who worked with me for hours online over two months trying to help me uninstall version 10 and install my Abbyy FR 15.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

No real downside, but in earlier versions 4,6,8,10 the training procedure was quite time-consuming and it seemed to go over the very same challenging characters time and time again after they'd been assigined the correct character. I have to admit I've not yet tried char. Recognition training in version 15. Haven't needed it. Solomiia Boichuk was incredibly persistent and helpful, consulting with several colleagues (their experts in different areas that were suspected of causing the problem. No one could have asked for more from a support team.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scanning text I need to digitize and edit (non of it in English) for my databases (I use ABBYY FR on a PC only; don't need it on my Mac) As per above, it saves a lot of keystroking time and effort with very few OCR errors or questionable interpretations, which are readily identifiable. The ability to read multiple languages in a single document is another major advantage.

  ### 33. Excellent OCR!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2021

**What do you like best about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

The most helpful element of ABBY OCR is the ability to process scans of paper documents and rapidly make them searchable. This opens up a large quantity of data and aynalisis that otherwise would be inaccessable.

**What do you dislike about FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac?**

Nothing! I think that if I had to improve anything that it would be to allow users to automatically process unlimited documents on their own custom servers or even enterprise PC. This would be a lot more useful and a lot less limiting.

**What problems is FineReader PDF for Windows and Mac solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving the problem of having a massive amount of scanned historical documents inaccessible to use outside of reading through the entire batch of documents. This has improved my workplace efficiency by being able to now keyword search these documents.

The accuracy of ABBY FineReader is head and shoulders above any other product on the market. We frequently employ multiple languages to read a diverse range of archival documents.

We are outputting high-resolution reproduction images to searchable, collated PDFs. The flexibility to output into single PDF files per page or collating all pages into a single PDF has been instrumental in meeting our client's needs.
