**What do you like best about Financial Cents?**

Financial Cents is, by far, the best practice management software I’ve used for a small accounting/bookkeeping firm. There are a lot of features I’ve already come to genuinely appreciate, and plenty more I haven’t even explored yet in the short time I’ve been using it.

What stands out most for me is how practical and flexible it is day to day. I really like the customizable workflow templates because I can quickly apply my standard bookkeeping workflows to every client, while still adding tasks for one-off situations that don’t apply to my other clients. I’m also absolutely loving the built-in invoicing and billing platform, which makes it easy to collect payments from my clients. On top of that, the Client Portal is extremely easy for my clients to use for securely sharing documents and answering questions I have about transactions.

The Month-End Close functionality is a big deal for my firm. It has drastically reduced the time it takes me to complete month-end tasks. I’m also very impressed with the overall performance of the software, and I expect it will continue to improve over time.

The built-in syncing with both my firm’s QuickBooks Online account and my clients’ accounts makes onboarding and monthly work much more streamlined. The AI tools have already helped me work more efficiently and saved me time each month. Speaking of onboarding, I was impressed by how clearly the tips and tricks were communicated when I first started using the service. And whenever I’ve had questions, they’ve been answered quickly—either through the built-in support library or by their helpful support staff.

I also appreciate how affordable the service is. My bookkeeping firm is 100% remote, so my overhead costs are minimal, and the Financial Cents subscription price point is definitely manageable—especially compared to other practice management software options.

I highly recommend Financial Cents to any accounting or bookkeeping firm. It has already helped my small firm, and it also feels like it can scale as my firm grows in both clients and, eventually, employees/contractors.

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

I haven’t been using the software for long, but so far I haven’t found anything I dislike. I also appreciate being part of the Facebook group, where I can learn from other users of the platform and hear about software updates that are being worked on or implemented.

**What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Financial Cents is helping me be more efficient by keeping my tasks, client files, and invoicing all together in one platform, rather than using different apps or software for each of the different tasks I use Financial Cents for.  The automation and structure of the workflows helps keep me organized while I am a one-man bookkeeping firm at this point, but it also helps me prepare for scaling to adding more clients and eventually hiring employees/contractors to help out.

**What do you like best about Financial Cents?**

Financial Cents seems purpose-built for accounting firms. The interface is clean, the workflow structure is intuitive, and it gives strong visibility into recurring tasks, deadlines, and team accountability. So far, it looks like a solid solution for standardizing processes and keeping client work organized.

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

We’re still early in the rollout, so it’s a little too soon to give fully informed feedback on drawbacks. The main challenge so far is simply that implementation takes time, especially when setting up workflows and training the team.

**What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed better workflow management and tracking as client work has expanded. Our experience so far has been very positive. We recently signed up on the annual plan, and the onboarding and first impressions have been strong. Financial Cents appears thoughtfully designed for firms that need better workflow management, clearer task visibility, and more consistency across recurring client work. It’s still early, but we’re optimistic about the value it can bring to our practice.

As a fully remote accounting firm, it’s been a struggle to keep employees apprised of their work tasks while also having one central place to collect all client data and communications. I think we finally found it!

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

I think the client-side experience could be a little better. It sometimes assumes clients know more than they actually do. As an accounting professor with 18 years of experience, I’ve found that many clients don’t understand certain parts of the process, but they also don’t want to admit that they don’t understand.

Financial Cents helps me keep client work organized in one place. The biggest upside is visibility. I can see what is due, what is waiting, and what still needs follow-up without relying on memory or separate trackers.

The main downside for me is that some workflow and automation features feel limited for a solo practice unless you are on a higher-tier plan. That means a few steps still need to be handled manually. The platform is still helpful overall, but I would like more flexibility without needing an upgrade.

Financial Cents is helping solve workflow visibility and task management problems. Before using it, it was easier for deadlines, follow-ups, and recurring work to live in different places. Now I have a clearer view of what is due, what is in progress, and what still needs attention. That has improved consistency and reduced the risk of missed steps.

Tags are tremendously helpful! For the first time, literally ever, I feel like I'm on top of team's progress or lack thereof on their client projects. Additionally, month end close is saving us a lot of time and headache in terms of asking questions about various transactions and requesting W-9 Forms.

It's expensive, and the month end close features are an add on. I totally understand why it costs what it does, and it's a big investment for a little firm like mine.

I have felt like it was just completely impossible to keep up with the hundreds of tasks that my team is meant to complete. Now it's finally organized in a way that's actionable to me, to them, and assists them in getting past road blocks.

**What do you like best about Financial Cents?**

Financial Cents allows us to keep up with the progress of various projects within the firm. We can see where we are at with specific assignments and be able to recognize when someone is needing help. The fact that it integrates with so many different tech in our stack allows for a more efficient workflow.

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

As our firm looks into the possibility of being bilingual, one of the downsides of Financial Cents is that the client portal isn't able to be switched to Spanish. I believe this would allow a better flow for all of our clients. We have talked to the customer support about this, and I believe it is on their roadmap to add it to Financial Cents in the future.

**What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a firm, we are more organized. Financial Cents has allowed us to keep up with the workflow on all of our clients. With the team/client task, if one of our team members is out, another team member can pickup where the other left off. This allows us to serve our clients equally and efficiently. Overall, Financial Cents improves our customer service.

**What do you like best about Financial Cents?**

Financial Cents is an easy CRM platform for accounting professionals to keep track of all of their clients, documents and notes in a user friendly way.  Clients can send over files within the portal safely and securely and I can go back and see history of each client when I speak with them.  The software is intuitive to use the basics, I'm sure there is plenty more it can do that I haven't even learned yet.  I find myself going back to it regularly.

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

I'd like an to use task list instead of creating a project for each thing I need to do but once I got the hang of the set up on projects it's really not hard to use.

**What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a database of my customers, their contact information, notes, and documents without having to create a separate spreadsheet or store files on my computer.  I can get access to everything I need anywhere, no matter which computer I'm using and don't have a mess of information in various places.

Client reminders are currently sent from a Financial Cents email address rather than directly from the firm’s email, which can be slightly confusing for some clients. Having the option to send reminders from the firm’s own domain would make client communications feel more seamless.

**What do you like best about Financial Cents?**

I love the auto reminders and workflows for each service I provide. I had a couple of years hanging on my the skin of my teeth through tax season, balancing my bookkeeping with tax preparation and workflow management. Financial Cents has me keeping on top of all of my clients and even has a feature for me to see if I have capacity for more clients! The automated client reminder is a game changer! No more forgetting when and what the client is supposed to be supplying me. I have a clear view of each stage of each client and they have a concise list of what is needed on their end for me to provide the best service! So far I have not had to use customer support because it has been easy to work with! I have my google account open up to the dashboard so I can start every day with an idea of what needs to be done next! The quickbooks integration was the selling point for me, but after I got into it, I have become a Financial Cents advocate!

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

Although the platform is great for organization, I can see that much of the bottleneck in productivity is on me. I would like to see more tutorials in the tutorial videos section of the software. I also would like to white label the platform so that my clients and employees would only see my company name.  Financial Cents is a robust project management tool for the accounting field for sure but I would like to see more features that would elevate it to a CRM as well as a PM tool. Also there should be a feature where you could activate it and hover over different parts of the program for hints on what the tools and fields uses are.

I have had a few years of being less than efficient. This was due to organization of workflows and constant follow ups with clients when I could remember who and what was needed. Now  Financial Cents has basically become my assistant!

While Financial Cents offers strong workflow and client tracking features, there are a few areas that could use refinement. The reporting tools, for example, feel limited when managing multiple entities or trying to extract cross-client insights. I’d appreciate more customizable dashboards and export options that align with compliance and audit needs.
Additionally, the interface—though clean—can feel rigid when adapting to nuanced workflows. Some automations lack the flexibility to handle exceptions or layered review processes, which are common in multi-state operations.
That said, the support team is responsive, and I’m hopeful these gaps will be addressed in future updates.

Financial Cents solves the core problem of inconsistent task execution and lack of visibility across multi-entity operations. It replaces manual follow-ups and inefficient delegation with automated workflows, client reminders, and real-time tracking. That means I no longer rely on payroll-heavy staff to manage recurring tasks that Financial Cents handles more reliably and consistently.
It’s saving me time, reducing payroll costs, and giving me peace of mind that deadlines are met—even when my team isn’t at full capacity.

**What do you like best about Financial Cents?**

Financial Cents is very easy to use, everyone in our firm was able to figure out what they need. It is very nice having everything in one place instead of across multiple programs, and setting it up was easy. The reporting contains everything we need and is easy to access. The templates are great, and its also very easy to customize whatever we need. The different pipeline views are helpful as we can each customize it to what works best for us so nothing slips thru the cracks. The time tracking ability to have multiple timers that you can switch between and add notes as you're working is also very helpful. The client task reminders and upload portal are great and intuitive for our clients.

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

Using Financial Cents on a mobile device is not nearly as nice as using it on a computer. Accessing client uploads is not intuitive on our end, and the client chat does not always notify us or the client, especially if a project is already closed.

**What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They give us one place to track all of our projects and the time associated with them. We have all of our client info in one place, and can assign access as needed. The best part is assigning tasks or whole projects to both employees and clients, to make sure everything gets done and everyone can see who is in charge of each item.

**What do you like best about Financial Cents?**

I've been using FC for several years and cannot recommend it enough. Task tracking, document requests, categorization tool save me so much time and facilitate communication between teammates and the client beautifully. I love being able to customize client reminders, communicate with my team or myself, see at a glance which projects are overdue, and filter by tag. Being able to trust the software goes a long way to letting me forget about work during my down time and manage my stress level during busy times.  I love how responsive they are to requests, and how willing they are to ask for their customers' input.

Nothing to add here. They think of features to tweak and add before I do.

**What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Financial cents keeps me organized and cuts down the endless document chasing emails i had to send before by 90% It allows me to scale my business and add clients without all the busywork that bogs me down. I get to use my brain for the tasks I'm hired for instead of the admin. I also like that asking for documents comes from an automated process instead of it seeming like i am nagging my clients. I am able to quickly jump back into a client's books because i immediately know the status of their account.

The reporting features could be more customizable, but the core functionality more than makes up for it.  It also takes some time to set up workflows initially, but once done, it saves a lot of time.

**What do you like best about Financial Cents?**

What I like most about Financial Cents is its simple and intuitive interface, which is also highly effective for team collaboration and client communication. It’s a perfectly tailored platform for small accounting and bookkeeping businesses that don’t want to deal with overly complex tools just to track upcoming deadlines. I especially appreciate the template section, as accounting and bookkeeping are largely routine tasks. This feature saves time by allowing you to set up projects quickly without adding them manually. Additionally, the note-taking section is extremely useful for me as a bookkeeper, since I rely heavily on my past notes to track numbers, changes in clients’ digital financial files, and updates.

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

One thing I find less ideal about Financial Cents is that when I add a “Client Task,” the email notifications it sends can’t be personalized much. For example, there’s no option to use “Shift + Enter” to format the email and make it look more professional. I also tried sending a document request email to myself, and it didn’t look very polished so there’s definitely room for improvement in the email presentation.
Another issue is that my clients rarely use the “Attach Documents” button; they tend to send documents directly to my email instead. Additionally, the note-taking section could be enhanced. I wish I could add more pages or sections so I can organize notes by financial quarter or year, which would make tracking information much easier.

**What do you like best about Financial Cents?**

There's a lot to like about Financial Cents. What initially drew me (and is still most important to me) are the workflows - how they are organized, flexible and keep me on track every day so I can provide consistent, high quality service to my clients. Also, customer support is excellent; very responsive, and I love that they really listen and want to understand our needs, so the app is always improving.

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

I've been less enthused about how Financial Cents has integrated with my items list in QBO because it caused duplicates that I need to sort out. To be fair, this is because I was an early adopter of FC and had already built my list of items there before the feature to integrate became available, so that's where the duplication happened. If one is starting fresh with FC, they would not have this issue.

**What problems is Financial Cents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of keeping good records of what is being worked on, when each client's work is due, making sure no steps get missed, and especially helpful for annual tasks that might otherwise get forgotten. It's very helpful for setting adjust my fees for each client as needed because I can see my effective realization rate for each client. That is super helpful and has made a big difference in my business. It also works as a CRM for my clients.

Where do I start? Prior to Financial Cents, I'd been using another program to send questions to clients on uncategorized transactions. I attempted to use their workflow system, but it just didn't work for me. After hearing about FC in some bookkeeping groups, I'd decided to check it out. Holy smokes! I am amazed at how much productivity is packed into one program that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. Send proposals, get e-signatures, client billing, secure file uploads, client feedback on uncategorized transactions, and customizable workflow management (my fav!). FC also has the absolute best help chat feature I've ever used, hands down. Nine times out of ten, "Fin" easily answers my questions, allowing me to move forward running my business. Financial Cents enables me to run my business easily and efficiently.

I hesitate to type this review as it is our best kept secret for managing our clients and our internal systems.  
This program has transcended our business model.
I've used two other CRM, Project management tools as my business grew and I am happy to say this is the one that will stay the course and grow with us.  The ease of use and community is far above so many others.  The templates, employee timesheets, internal reports, and project management are the best I've seen and used.
If you are looking for a well rounded CRM and Project management system that is affordable and will grow with you....I highly recommend this program.

It would be great to have a phone app specific to Financial Cents.  While you can use the system via browser, I would feel more secure with an actual phone app.

Overall the Financial Cents interface is clean and easy to find your way around. Support is usually quick and helpful if you need to contact them for an issue. Although not customizable for some reason, the client information is laid out well and includes all communications with the client as well as any resources needed. We don’t use the email section but it is nice that it has the ability to add multiple email accounts. User permissions are pretty detailed but it would be nice to create your own custom roles.

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

Honestly, the software feels incomplete and hampered by some really perplexing design decisions that really hurt productivity. There is no easily accessible area to view all communications with the clients or staff. For some odd reason they based all of the recurring projects on the due date instead of the start date so you have to calculate when the project is created based on how many days before its due. File management is atrocious. You can send file requests to clients monthly but after they upload you can only download or manipulate one at a time. There is no file editing capabilities built in but there is also no way to sync files so you are forced to download them each time. When uploading files after working on them it doesn’t give you the option to replace the existing file, just creates a separate copy. The worst has been their billing service that they implemented this year. They will hound you to use it even if it is a downgrade from what you are using. Additionally, they gated useful features like expanded reports and proposals to the billing module so that you can’t use them if you don’t use their merchant services.

Overall, I would say there are better solutions out there but unfortunately we have already committed with a couple of clients and won’t make them learn new software so we are stuck with them for now.

I love the client portals with auto shared questions and the ability to connect to quickbooks. I love that I can easily send the questions, reminders, and invoices with clients. I have nothing but good luck with customer service, they've answered each question I've had. I use financial cents for everything, and often. From tracking time, tracking tasks, and tracking payments. It has been fairly simple to implement into my routine, though like any new habit, you have to stay consistent. The use of templates, and integrations with QuickBooks and Notion has been very helpful.

The only thing I wish Financial Cents could do, are specialized reports for the accountant/bookkeeper's use. While I love that my clients can answer questions, it would be really nice to perform a review within Financial Cents rather than having to mess around in QuickBooks, excel, or invest in another platform.

I'd like to share a bit of feedback about why I am a very satisfied user of Financial Cents: (1) My clients love it (and that's a win-win), (2) the automated monthly client task lists are easily customizable for each client, allowing me to request monthly information with a one-time set up that is sent to clients every month, (3) Their support is extraordinary, (4) they have monthly webinars to share information on new features, and (5) they are always adding new features based on user's (like me) feedback. -- This solution is EASY to implement - I think I was up an running in a matter of hours. I can't imagine ever using another solution since this one truly has everything I need in one place.

There are two minor things I wish were different - (1) I wish  I could see my private "client notes" from within a current job I'm working on, rather than having to leave the job to look at client notes. (2) I look forward to the built-in signature feature so I can start using the Proposals feature!

Before FC it was a challenge each day to know where to begin with my workday. With 24 clients I need to be efficient with my time in order to get all my work completed in the month. I love the calendar feature - it's the first thing I look at each day when I sit down to work. The calendar shows me exactly which clients I need to work on that day. In addition to that, the customizable recurring workflows provide each detail needed for each job (client) - I simply click off tasks as I do them, and if I return in an hour after lunch, or a week, it takes 0 effort to see where I left off.

Financial-Cents has been a game changer for our firm. We use it every day for both bookkeeping and income tax projects and it really helps our team stay organized and makes it easy to stay on top of all the work we need to do. We’ve set it up so that each project has clear, step-by-step workflows, which makes everything much easier to follow.  When we first signed up for Financial-Cents, the training and help videos were super helpful and made it easy to integrate into our firm.

One of my favorite features is the automation. We can automatically send updates to clients when certain steps of a project are complete, which saves us time and keeps clients in the loop. The client tasks feature is also fantastic.  Our clients get a clear checklist of what we need from them, with built-in reminders. For recurring requests each month, we’ve automated those too. Our clients love how smooth and straightforward the process feels.

Also, the Recats feature is great because we can send requests to our clients about transactions we need help with, and they can easily respond with more information.  

The chat feature works beautifully for client communication, and I really appreciate the customization options that allow us to tailor the system to fit our firm’s needs. On top of that, the team behind Financial-Cents genuinely listens to their users. They’re constantly adding new features and improvements based on feedback. Their monthly “feature recap” meetings are amazing as well because they share updates and also take the time to answer questions and hear our opinions live.

Overall, Financial-Cents has improved our organization, client communication, and workflow efficiency tremendously. I would highly recommend it to any firm looking for smoother processes and stronger client relationships.

The billing/invoicing feature is great, however there are still a couple features lacking that would make it that much better- such as progress invoicing or an installment payment arrangement feature. Financial Cents is super easy to use, there is not a huge learning curve with implementing or creating workflows. I get weekly reports of my progress and this I might need to address. My clients love the client portal, they are able to see all correspondence and billing in one place. The customer support is wonderful the  the AI chat support is pretty spot on and helpful as well. Even as a solo user upgrading to the Scale Plan has already paid for itself with the features that help me save time. Great tutorials as well. Oh I love the email integration in scale it allows me to view emails from each client and it's connected to the client file, Very helpful.

I have a small team, and we all use Financial Cents on a daily basis. We create recurring projects (from built-in or customizable templates) for monthly accounting, sales tax returns, payrolls, etc., and you can also create one-off tasks. You can assign roles or people to tasks, assign reviewers/approvers, and complete projects. It features built-in document management, client communication, and team collaboration tools. It now has billing and proposals. The fees for accepting ACH or credit cards are lower than those for QB Payments, and the invoices and payments sync seamlessly with QBOA. We love it!

I wish they had live phone support, but the chat feature is one of the best I've worked with, and they always follow through to make sure everything is working.

**What do you like best about Financial Cents?**

It was my first time using it and it was very easy to navigate. I also like the Customer Support feature as it is available all the time and the queue is not that long unlike other websites. I can easily implement projects there where there is a time tracking feature and can assign tasks to someone. I frequently use it. I can easily integrate my email, Quickbooks, etc. on it too!

I think the only downside is that it doesn't look so innovative. Experience using it is kind of not advanced. I mean the colors, motif, etc.

The cloud-based interface enables our remote CPA firm to collaborate both internally and externally with greater efficiency. I also find the ability to use templates created by other users extremely helpful during the setup process. Although I am still new to the system, I can already say that, having previously used TaxDome, this platform offers significantly more advantages. Additionally, our representative has been excellent.

So far I haven't found anything I dislike outside of the ACH processing times are longer than I'm used to, usually it's 1-2 days and with this system it's at least 4 business days.

For us, the biggest challenge was managing all the tasks while simultaneously requesting information from clients—and keeping everything organized. Some clients require a bit more hand-holding, and Financial Cents has really helped streamline that process. We went from using five different tools to just one, which has made our workflow much more efficient and less stressful.

It is logical and supports efficiency and keeping track easily. As someone who can both take in a lot of data, but can get lost and overwhelmed in the weeds of too much info at once, I really like how I can filter. Clients have overwhelmingly found it very easy to work with as well.It was also very easy to start using out of the box.

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

As a younger company there are a few things is needs to include, and some additional CRM integrations and so on, but that is to be expected, and it is far better than many workhorses I have used in the past that cause panic attacks with the overwhelm of not well sorted information. There are some glitches that need addressed, like not being able to "download all" project task files (you can with client files).

Financial Cents has so much functionality to be an all-in-one practice management software for our Client Accounting Services company.  Also the collaboration between members is amazing! Sharing workflow templates is fantastic!

The price point is a bit high for smaller firms just getting started and it does not have the full Financial Statement connectivity yet to QBO to perform balance sheet reconciliations or general financial review.

Bookkeeping & Month-End Workflows.  Automations.  Onboarding with new Clients and engaging with them through an easy to access Client Portal. Financial Cents gives us peace of mind managing task and deadlines, it is the main software everyone on the team opens when they turn on their computer and stays open everyday. Document exchange with clients and payment processing are easy to handle, it made using ignition unnecessary for us. Even though we don't charge any client by the hour, the ability to track time was amazing to manage our capacity and allocate resources better.

The transition from Trello to FC had to be made manually, which was a little time consuming, but at least the imported all clients from QBO automatically.

What bothers me most is that to access just a few additional features—most notably the ability to add my logo and integrate my email—the price jumps by $30 per month per user when moving from the solo user plan to the next tier. I really wish the price increase wasn't so steep, as I would be willing to upgrade for those extra features.

**What do you like best about Financial Cents?**

Financial Cents is more than a project manager. I like the fact that FC is increasingly becoming a CRM/Time Sheets/private client portal integrated with QBO. What I like even more is how attentive the founders are to the needs of their clients. Every month, Sharham presents the new "features" and proposes improvements by asking what the people present at this meeting think about them. The FC team responds quickly when we have situations requiring their attention. It's very positive when we need it.

**What do you dislike about Financial Cents?**

One of the drawbacks is that it is not possible to set the platform to French for communications with our clients. The clients receive an email with an English heading and then see the requests or demands we make in French. Our French-speaking clients are hesitant. Sometimes I have to exchange several times with a client to convince them to agree to connect to their secure Financial Cents portal. Communications with the FC team are in English only, which can cause issues if the user does not speak English. I speak English (I manage), but my employees do not.

Tracking the progress of bookkeeping tasks, year-end processes, and individual taxes. This has facilitated teamwork, as everyone knows what they have to do and what the deadline is. I am able to see which projects are ongoing and where the team members are at. // Tracking the time spent on different projects, thus allowing us to see the project's profitability or to bill the fees. // Communications with the client to request documents and send monthly reminders to clients to notify them to submit their documents. This has allowed the team to focus on bookkeeping tasks rather than sending reminders. Now, Financial Cents allows me to bill flat-rate mandates monthly and collect the funds. I should normally save in the future since I will no longer need another application to perform this operation.
