You just have to give your server username and password and you can see directory of the remote server in the same tab. This makes it easy for large amount of file transfers. One more thing that I like is that Filezilla keeps track of the files that have been transferred so in case of failure we can simply requeue files. Also, Drag and drop feature is available for file transfer. **What do you dislike about FileZilla?** The least helpful thing about FileZilla is its speed of data transfer. The highest upload speed that I get is 2 Mbps. This is considering I use a dedicated line of bandwidth 40 Mbps for both download and upload. This is sometimes not ideal for transferring large amount of data because it consumes a lot of time. **Recommendations to others considering FileZilla:** Check your network connectivity while using FileZilla because it is essential to have stable bandwidth throughout the data transfer. **What problems is FileZilla solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have used FileZilla for uploading my data from local to the remote site multiple times. It's free as well, so that is awesome. **What do you dislike about FileZilla?** I installed Filezilla from it's official site at filezilla-project.org, and when I did so, it installed additional software products without my permission, including Avast Antivirus and McAfee Webadvisor. This represents bloatware, which is somewhat troubling, but the major problem is that it was done without informing me or seeking my authorization. **What problems is FileZilla solving and how is that benefiting you?** Solved need for secure FTP client admirably. However the unauthorized install of software, even if is not of a malicious product, is a gross violation of trust. On one hand, we have the Server version, which, when installed on a machine, will allow us to offer a shared space with all the computers that connect. Very useful for exchanging large files, or for hosting the entire folder structure of a website on a server. The client version of Filezilla allows you to connect to the server where the shared folder is hosted and where you can upload or download files. Both offer an intuitive interface with multiple options, making it an indispensable tool for any web administrator. It is capable of storing the passwords and IP addresses of the servers we connect to most frequently. It is a very lightweight program, which is noticeable in the speed with which it operates. Additionally, it is a GPL-licensed program, completely free, with a community of users working on the project, resulting in numerous updates and continuous improvements being published. **What do you dislike about FileZilla?** Filezilla has a problem precisely where one of its strengths lies. I am referring to its graphical interface, intuitive and versatile, but completely outdated and does not give a good professional impression. The way it handles interrupted downloads from the server seemed a bit confusing to me. I'm not sure it downloads everything that was missing. The fact that it stores the passwords of the servers you connect to is a double-edged sword; it certainly makes access easier, but in the wrong hands, it can be fatal. We use it regularly to manage multiple servers for multiple customers. **What do you dislike about FileZilla?** I don't have any complaints with Filezilla. I own a marketing and development company and Filezilla has been our go-to for years now when managing our file transfers and other server actions that we do not want to do via cpanel or browser. **Recommendations to others considering FileZilla:** A quick search for reviews on Filezilla will prove the reputation and quality of this ftp software and its capabilities all packaged in a light-weight shell that wont bog down your systems or require training for new hires. It is free, updated often and is worthy of your use. **What problems is FileZilla solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quick and efficient file transfers to our various web servers from one central and easy to use tool. Filezilla is lightweight and fast so it doesnt bog down our machines and new employees never need training because everyone whos been a developer for sometime is familiar with this platform. ### 47. very good transfer manager **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Ivan D. | IT Specilist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2019 **What do you like best about FileZilla?** If you need to transfer files to your ftp servers the easiest option for you is to have filezilla, because it is free and what you must do is download the file, it is very easy to install and use, you can also save your concurrent connections, so you can access more quickly to these servers, additionally in the registers you can see if there is any communication problem to which it refers or which is associated with the error. **What do you dislike about FileZilla?** If you are connected to a computer making a download of a very heavy file and for some reason you lose connection with the server, when you restore the connection, you have to make the download from the beginning, does not store a state of progress as happens with some other web managers such as Mega, among others. **Recommendations to others considering FileZilla:** If you are going to use filezilla to manage your FTP servers, keep in mind that the machines from which you connect are institutional or personal use, because if you do a public computer, you have no guarantee that your information is secure or that the data of your user are not stolen. **What problems is FileZilla solving and how is that benefiting you?** If you manage multiple FTP servers to which you have q access concurrently, filezilla allows you to store sessions so you can then access these computers faster so it is much better to use this application than make the connection through a web browser. ### 48. To work on the data, you can transfer them via FileZilla to your computer. Server is running on Linux an I am working on Win or Mac. no problems with this **What do you dislike about FileZilla?** Sometimes it is forgetting my preset connection and I have to connect manually. but not the biggest deal. **What problems is FileZilla solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use it to transfer data which are saved on a instrumentation server, which can be used by many people.
