This is a solid product, that fills the need for a secure FTP client admirably. It's free as well, so that is awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about FileZilla? I installed Filezilla from it's official site at filezilla-project.org, and when I did so, it installed additional software products without my permission, including Avast Antivirus and McAfee Webadvisor. This represents bloatware, which is somewhat troubling, but the major problem is that it was done without informing me or seeking my authorization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is FileZilla solving and how is that benefiting you? Solved need for secure FTP client admirably. However the unauthorized install of software, even if is not of a malicious product, is a gross violation of trust. I am going to uninstall Filezilla as a result of this, and would not recommend the product unless you are willing to take the risk of an unknown and unauthorized software payload. As described in the title, FileZilla is free and does what it is designed to do for File Transfer Protocol (FTP). It supports SFTP and other types of protocols. FileZilla is a fairly lightweight app that allows users to maintain their local file structure and upload to a server very easily. It works cross-platform, so if your team is made up of multiple systems, you can still all use the same solution (Linus, Windows, mac). It's also great to be able to have multiple servers connected that you can seamlessly switch to between tabs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about FileZilla? The app is a little bit tricky when connecting a site for the first time. I almost always have a few failed connections before I get everything set. Once I'm connected it's fairly easy to switch back and forth between the sites that I manage, though. I've also heard that your server credentials are NOT encrypted with FileZilla, so depending on your environment (shared systems, etc), there could be a security risk. I started using another solution recently and have had a lot more success, although I will admit my needs are not as great. My server systems are a lot less complicated and I don't have to switch around 4 times in one project. I now only need to interface with 1 or 2 servers. Filezilla allows a local and remote file exchange without purchasing a bulky piece of software that comes loaded with unnecessary features.
