## About FileWave
Since 1992, FileWave has helped IT teams manage complex, multi-platform endpoint environments with consistent policy, unified visibility, and operational control. Organizations across enterprise, education, healthcare, government, and regulated industries rely on FileWave to operate diverse endpoint ecosystems without fragmentation. FileWave provides endpoint management across macOS, Windows, iOS, ChromeOS, and Android from a single operational model. Policies remain consistent across operating systems, visibility stays unified, and enforcement works across platforms rather than per device type. Hybrid, cloud, and on-prem deployments are supported natively, enabling organizations to manage endpoints without architectural compromise. From imaging and deployment to patching, configuration, security enforcement, and ongoing lifecycle management, FileWave enables IT teams to maintain operational confidence across diverse environments. Instead of forcing infrastructure to conform to one platform strategy, FileWave is built to operate across diversity by design.

Buggy sometimes and difficult to troubleshoot at times.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote enterprise management for Win, MacOS and iOS (ipads)

  ### 2. FileWave is a great system for managing computer and devices.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mikael S. | SysAdmin Mac, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2022

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

One of the best features of FileWave is that FileWave has the ability o work on file level, so if you need to swap one file, or just make changes in a file there is no need to repackage and send out the whole package again.
This also makes it pretty easy to make customisasions in installations to meet your needs.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

There is no web app with full functionality today but soon there is.
For Europe there is no cloud solution right now what I am aware off, hope there will be one soon

**Recommendations to others considering FileWave:**

Compare all products you can find out there. And remeber, just because some spends a lot on PR it isn't sure that is the best product for your needs.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have inventory for all machines and divices on the same place.
One system to manage all in a similar way is awsome

  ### 3. Filewave is a great product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Russell O. | IT Supervisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2022

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

Filewave has all of the functionality I'm looking for and the price makes this a good value.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

I'm not a fan of the browser-based software Filewave is moving to. It looks like I'll be losing some functionality and a lot of familiarity.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filewave has given us an easy way to control our 1:1 iPad program for our school district. We've been a customer of Filewave for years. When the pandemic and iPads had to stay at home for all grades, we were ready.

  ### 4. LOVE FileWave

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin R. | Director Of Information Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

It does what is supposed to do and does it well!!

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

Nothing I do not like about FileWave. It has been a time and personnel saver!!

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing iPads for 6th - 12th grade students could be a big ordeal but, FileWave makes it so easy. Time spent to profile and onboard devices is minimal compared to other options.

  ### 5. Powerful and efficient

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

It is pretty detailed oriented and provides lots of features that other MDMS may not have. The multi-platform support is very helpful for managing various devices in one centralized location.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

As of now there is very little Linux support. Sometimes the platform can get confusing but once you pass those hurdles, it becomes much easier to maneuver and work with.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows for our various IT members to monitor and support all our devices and locations. The platform also makes deployment and provisioning very simple and efficient.

  ### 6. Filewave is very easy to use. It works on Windows, Macs, iOs and more. Their support has been great!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

The ease of use of the interface. Easier

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

The Reports aren't always concise. hard to use

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for inventory and pushing programs to endpoints.

  ### 7. We have found FileWave to be an instrumental part of helping us manage our devices!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad U. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2020

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

Being able to use PowerShell and other script commands to gather more data and deploy more software than we have previously been able to.

Creating Smart Groups to help in managing devices and what deployment of filesets they should get.

Being able to create custom fields to query devices for specific information needed.

Being able to create queries based on any of the data that is collected from the devices.

Being able to track devices on and off network.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

When more than one person is working in the admin portal at the same time, if someone needs to do a model update it affects everyone that is logged in to where no interactivity with the system is possible until the model update is completed.

Currently have issues with using Remote Access in the system successfully/consistently.

Running into difficulties with needing to image a client that already exist in FileWave and the client does not have an onboard NIC since changing the MAC of the existing client in FileWave can sometimes cause issues with the database info.

When imaging a device that was already in FileWave there is a chance that FileWave will see it as a duplicate device and currently you have to allow enrollment of those devices one at a time which is very time consuming when there are thousands of devices waiting to be enrolled.

No option to create a USB flash drive boot option to do imaging, only PXE.

No ability to remotely tell a computer to start an imaging process. Can only do manually using PXE.

Not being able to add drivers to FileWave imaging process to identify hard drive or NIC at times for some model of devices, so the PXE imaging process fails. This is where a USB boot option would be helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering FileWave:**

FileWave has allowed us to do more things than we were able to with previous products. It was especially helpful when our students were immediately changed to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in Spring 2020. Without FileWave, we would have been working a lot harder to find solutions to issues we encountered in being able to get needed software and rights to computers that were not on our network in such a short amount of time. With FileWave we entered the changes we needed to make and deployed it out and was able to identify a high success rate on installation of the deployment. We still find a lot of other benefits from using FileWave than just remote deployment. We are able to gather more accurate reports of what is in use on our devices, manage our licenses for our software deployments, and the ability to place devices into different groups to control which device gets what software and rights has been a game changer.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to deploy software and changes to computers that are off of our network during this time when our students are participating in remote learning has been a game changer for us.

When deploying software, if the computer is rebooted or powered off, FileWave picks back up where it left off and results in a lot less failures.

  ### 8. Granular Deployment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John W. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2020

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

The Granular control of creating, modifying and deploying sets. The support team is very responsive and I’m a huge fan of scheduling support help on a support techs calendar.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

Since Filewave is so granular the manual could be more detailed. I would like to see more how to articles and video’s.

**Recommendations to others considering FileWave:**

A good multi platform device management systems who fully and quickly support their product. They live feedback and responsive to feature request to improve the product for their customers

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filewave has helped me create a more organized deployment system for rolling out and rolling back assigned devices. I use a profile that “Clocks” an iPad if users don’t return devices. What it actually does is hide all Apps (including Safari) except for the Clock app. I use this Instead of Lost Mode which will disable the iPad. If it drops WiFi then it quits checking in and the user can’t toggle it on. This profile allows a user to access the home screen and make sure it’s toggled on but all they can do is check the time. I couple this with a profile that changes the wallpaper with an instructional message and contact info. It’s a real attention getter!! And my boss loves it.

  ### 9. Filewave Passes with Flying Colors

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2020

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

One of the biggest features our system enjoys is the multi-platform support that Filewave gives. Having the ability not to worry about what technology items will be supported or which ones won't is a big advantage for us. One of problems a large school system has includes having various devices added to the list of supported devices without any indication they are coming. Filewave gives us the peace of mind knowing their systems will support our devices.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

A large school system at times comes with unique issues that we have to plan for and overcome. Filewave does have great ability to customize it's usage and support. The one thing I wish we were able to do more of is tailor the built in dashboard view to add columns and sort criteria to see things instantly. We can still see what we need, but we just have to run a report to do it.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem we are solving is pushing software and updates to our devices as fast as they come out. We are also using the reporting features of Filewave to provide up to date reports on what devices we have, where those devices are, and what OSs the devices are running. Having all that information at our fingertips gives us the ability to know instantly what our challenges are and where we need to focus our limited energy at times.

  ### 10. Filewave MDM service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clever M. | Founder & C.E.O, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2020

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

Filewave gives a granular level of control that is second to none, their customer service is spectacular and their engineers are always more than willing to get on a call and answer any questions. It's impossible to imagine how hundreds or thousands of devices could be managed seamlessly like FileWave does. I recommend it without the slightest reservation.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

I have not had any complaints at all. I am more that satisfied with their service

**Recommendations to others considering FileWave:**

This solution will save you hours upon hours of valuable time, I recommend it 100%

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We serve schools districts that use a variety of devices which continually need updates and maintenance. Filewave is centralized way of deploying these changes, and its high degree of control allows one to make granular changes up to a single file level.

  ### 11. FileWave is the Complete Device Management Suite for Multi Platforms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

FileWave is the all in one Swiss army knife of device management tools. We chose this product because of its ability to help us with managing our iPad's, MacBook's and Windows PC's. The support and leadership are also the reason our company chose FileWave. They really listen to the customer and want to make the experience a positive one. They believe the product is the what makes "IT the Easy Button". In many ways FileWave has done that for us. I am not sure how we could manage over one thousand devices on a daily basis with out it!

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

I have not had any negative issues with FileWave.

**Recommendations to others considering FileWave:**

Do not Hesitate just get a Demo and you will see why its so great!

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to manage multiple devices from one admin console. We are able to have an inventory system within FileWave that can export device information for easy access. Also patch management and application deployment with one system. The Benefits are decreased time in management and support for devices. Also lower hardware overhead costs and decreased enterprise support for servers.

  ### 12. Excellent Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2020

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

How you can customize this product in almost any way you want.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

The support can take a while, they need more people on the phone.

**Recommendations to others considering FileWave:**

If you want to use this product to remote into the machines be aware it does not work all the time, that is the only flawed part of this product. They need better tools to remote in and fix windows machines.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking assets, pushing profiles to ios devices and scripts to windows machines

  ### 13. Filewave brings a very personal touch to the experience they offer to their customers!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna H. | Sales Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2020

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

Filewave is a company that really focuses on personal service and support. They are wonderful to work with.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

I don't have any complaints at all. Products and service are both great!

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote system management with a focus on education.

  ### 14. Filewave Review

**Reviewed by:** Travis P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2020

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

Filewave helps us as a school manage all our Apple Products. I don't know where we'd be without it. They also have great support.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

Not much to dislike. Really helps us keep track of iPads and Macbooks.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing iPads and Macbooks. Saves us lots of time.

  ### 15. FileWave is versatile Multiplatform MDM/MAM Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Buddha N. | System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

With FileWave, I can manage Windows, Macs, iOS, Apple TVs, Chromebooks, and Android. macOS and iOS both Support Apple's Automatics Enrollment Program.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

The only downside has been lack of SSO like Mosyle Auth or Jamf Connect.

**Recommendations to others considering FileWave:**

FileWave is extremely cost-effective. Also, it can do so many things other MDM solutions can't. I highly recommend you check to see if the FileWave meets your company's requirement.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FileWave is helping us manage all our devices in a centralized way. Besides managing devices FileWave also allows us to deploy an application and manage licenses.

  ### 16. A new way of our “deployment-thinking”! And still a great choice...

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mirko H. | CEO, IT-Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2019

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

Self-service and kiosk - in the future we will increasingly focus on supporting the end users in their independence. With a well-structured self-service and an IT-supported kiosk, end users should have more control.
DEP - the integrated DEP Manager will support us in the introduction of DEP with new and"old" devices and will facilitate the initial inclusion of new hardware in our client management.
FileVault Key Management - We are already using Institutional Recovery Keys, but want touse the personal key solution in FileWave in the future.
License Management - For administrative overviews of compliance reports, we will useFileWave in the future. This gives our administrators a quick overview of the licenserequirements.
with our external procurement solution including various release processes, license softwareshould be automatically made available to authorized persons in addition to the previousmostly free software.
MDM - In addition to the daily challenge of smaller requirements, we will continue to expandthe DEP integration with FileWave and guarantee a smooth integration of the iOS devices.
Network - Exchange with other IT colleagues from other companies to get to know manyother possibilities. In many cases the problems are comparable, the solution does not always have to be reinvented.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

I am just worried about the fact, that it took us such a long time for choosing this product.

**Recommendations to others considering FileWave:**

Give it a try! You will not regret.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our impressions on FileWave: Sureley it is all about technology. But we are only a small team of 5 admins for all our apple clients. So we need a strong partner with an outstanding support.
This includes various in-house and almost worldwide (even if only sporadically) departments with several demands on software, settings and needs. Before the decision to FileWave, various adjustments were only possible to a limited extent and with considerable effort. It already started with an elaborate process to create, test, re-adapt, and distribute packages to the right places. Without a meaningful booster process in a DMZ this was hardly possible. We can now finally rethink - filesets replace the time-consuming use of packages in almost allplaces. And this in a mostly simple but always complex way to expand. Includes all software, preferences, setting, access permissions and pre-post-whatever scripts. Thus complex installations can be summarized wonderful simply and still be arranged in individually.
This was one of the outstanding features of Filewave, as it saves us a lot of time and takes our thinking about the distribution of needs of all kinds to a new level. Second: With the booster technology, we now have access to all our employees, no matter where, at what time or in what network. The Internet is all it takes for our IT to act. For changes and updates of security settings and innovations of our production software, this procedure is unremitting and gives us an immense time advantage compared to the past. Third: The third big and for us immensely important advantage is an intelligent and foresighted sorting and division of the client groups. In Filewave we can now work with different recognition features to guarantee a meaningful grouping of our clients.

  ### 17. Filewave review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

- ease of dropping files and software onto end user devices.
- the ability to manage ios, android, mac and pc devices all on one platform
- integration with apple school manager

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

- system was designed with mac mostly in mind, the layout and interface is much more mac friendly than pc

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

managing end user machines and the software they need. We have been able to group users by their role within filewave so new users can be dropped into a group and instantly get the software they need

  ### 18. Killer features not found in competitive solutions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

Booster technology (= scalability)
Self healing (= huge time - life saver)
Cross platform

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

every feature we needed was swiftly implemented by the dev's. Noting to dislike...

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We want our devices to be in a defined state. FileWave helps us archiving that by self healing the software or settings. If a user performs an unwanted update, that update is "rolled back".
FileWave helps us to maintain a fleet of devices with minimal effort.

  ### 19. Full featured, reliable MDM solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2019

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

Regular updates with new features, fantastic support team that provides outstanding remote service, easy to learn and constantly improving.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

My only gripes are really specific feature requests that I wish were here sooner.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides centralized management for thousands of desktop and mobile clients. Simplified the process of pushing files, apps, and updates to every device in our organization.

  ### 20. Much better than Jamf

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2018

**What do you like best about FileWave?**

I enjoy using Filewave for locating, tracking ipads and generating filesets and associations. I use it for all my ipads in two schools to manage, wipe and refresh them.

**What do you dislike about FileWave?**

It takes a long time to receive new updates, and then you usually need a new update by that point to keep it working well.

**What problems is FileWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solve our management with filewave. We also use it to keep track of where the ipads are, and for creating different groups so we can have student and teacher ipads.
