"Secure Multi-Engine File Scanning with OPSWAT"
What do you like best about OPSWAT Filescan?

I use OPSWAT Filescan to securely scan files before they are downloaded, shared, or accessed within our organization. It provides a reliable way to analyze files against antivirus engines and threat detection tools, helping to catch potential malware or suspicious content. I really like the multi-engine scanning capability as it greatly increases threat detection accuracy. This feature reduces blind spots and false negatives by having multiple engines scan the same file. The confidence OPSWAT Filescan provides in file security is impressive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OPSWAT Filescan?

The initial setup and configuration tend to require some technical effort before everything runs smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"With the new update - it has become a significant tool and a must use"
What do you like best about OPSWAT Filescan?

The file scan has become much faster and now that it is integrated with the MetaDefender Sandbox - the overall capabilities are now much improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OPSWAT Filescan?

The only think I wished it did was enable more file types. It is limited to about 50 file types and 10 archives. For some cross platform - or unique types it is unable to scan Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cloud-Based Malware analysis platform"
What do you like best about OPSWAT Filescan?

FileScan.io stands out as a next-generation malware analysis solution, leveraging OPSWAT’s MetaDefender Sandbox technology for high-speed, resource-efficient file scanning. The platform processes files up to ten times faster than traditional sandboxes while using 90% fewer resources,

Multi-Engine Threat Detection: Scans files against numerous antivirus engines, increasing the likelihood of detecting novel or polymorphic threats.

Detailed Behavioral Analysis: Generates comprehensive reports that outline file behaviors, potential risks, and specific indicators of compromise.

Broad File Type Support: Handles a wide range of file formats, including executables, documents, and archives.

API and CLI Access: Offers robust integration options through a RESTful API and a Python-based CL.

Sandbox Emulation: Emulates file execution in isolated environments to observe malicious behaviors without risk to production systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OPSWAT Filescan?

UI is less intuitive than some competing tools, which can slow down adoption for team members who are not already familiar with advanced malware analysis platforms. The added complexity means there’s a learning curve before getting the most out of the system.

I have also noticed that false positives occasionally occur, leading to extra manual review of files that are actually safe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A good too protecting you from malware"
What do you like best about OPSWAT Filescan?

I used to rely on Microsoft Antivirus from the start. However, I'm quite an old-school guy and never thought malware or similar threats would ever affect me. But in a few incidents, I accidentally downloaded and clicked on malware-infected files. I searched for a solution to identify such threats, and that's when OPSWAT FileScan helped me in this area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OPSWAT Filescan?

I think the tool should offer a comprehensive report about the threats and their exact sources as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Filescan is crucial for a safer internet"
What do you like best about OPSWAT Filescan?

I use it for a small website that I have where users can upload their creativity such as wallpapers, graphics etc but this can sometimes be unsafe due to trojans or malicious codes within the files, I use filescan to scan the files, it generates full report where I can see pretty much everything required in order to find out if there's anything suspicious. You can also download the report.

It also generates the SHA ID which is quite useful in a lot of the scenarios. You can also set passwords if you do not want it to be accessible for other community members. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OPSWAT Filescan?

Free version has pretty much all basic to Advanced features, however you need to pay for more advanced options, however you are offered with a free trial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
