## About Files.com
Files.com is the secure, cloud-native File Orchestration Platform built to replace the patchwork of legacy file infrastructure: aging SFTP servers, heavy MFT suites, separate file-sharing tools, and the custom scripts holding them together, all with one system. IT teams stop losing hours to patching servers and chasing failed transfers, while business users get a clean interface that works for technical and non-technical teams alike. Files.com consolidates every file flow into a single platform with centralized access controls, policy enforcement, and complete audit visibility. It presents every storage system (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, on-premises NAS, and 50+ other connectors) as one governed namespace, so multiple clouds and on-prem storage work as one. Automate mission-critical flows with no-code workflows, or build against a full REST API, SDKs, and a Terraform provider. Files.com speaks SFTP, FTPS, FTP, WebDAV, and AS2, exposes an S3-compatible endpoint, and supports OpenPGP and GPG, connecting modern apps, multiple clouds, and legacy partners without middleware. AES-256 encryption in transit and at rest, fine-grained role-based access, SSO, SCIM, and MFA, and immutable audit trails support SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR, and ITAR requirements. Built cloud-native with elastic scaling, there are no servers to patch or manage. Files.com is ranked #1 for Managed File Transfer in Gartner Peer Insights and scores #1 across every attribute on G2's MFT grid. More than 4,000 organizations trust it, including Equifax, Rag & Bone, Cognizant, and Michelin, with over 15 years of operation and zero breaches. Go live fast with expert-led onboarding included.

## Files.com Reviews
 ### 1. Strong Praise from Long-Time User

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

It is very simple and easy to use, both for posting large files to share with clients, and for my clients to receive the files. It does not require add-ons, signing up for things, and helps our company maintain a professional interface with our clients. We use it all the time and it was easy to implement and easy to integrate into our work flows. After more than 10 years of use, we have only used customer support once and they addressed our issue quickly.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

In the past, there were some limitations that caused us issues, but for the past 3 to 4 years, we haven't had any issues.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Files.com to easily share large files with collaborators and clients.

 ### 2. Files.com Great Company, Great Team, Great Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patti R. | Senior Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

What is best about Files.com, is their amazing team. They are always there for the customer. The product is integral to our business. The documentation is very useful and instructive.
Also, they manage ALL kinds of connections. Recently we had a request for a connection that was not usual and of course Files.com's answer was, yes, we can handle that. AND, it was sooo easy to implement.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

There isn't really anything I dislike but as the product is growing and expanding, there are improvements that need to be implemented. I am impressed with the improvements that are being made and look forward to see more....

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with Files.com to develop more complex integrations is very exciting and engaging. The automations are really reliable and easy to code. When I have a new connection, I always look to see if Files.com can be utilized.

 ### 3. Great features and excellent customer experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cesar M. | Lead Integration Solutions Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

The features work well and every time I have an issue or doubt the support team is there to guide me.

The facility of use is incredible. Everytime US customers come with a new way of connection, I check Files.com and they have already implemented that so I don't have to build something specific in my system.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

There is nothing bad about Files.com. The unique thing that could improve is the logs in AS2 but that's it. Again, nothing bad.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

our customers use Files.com to put the files and therefore, we can process them.
Files.com mounts external SFTPs so I don't have to deal with that but only Files.com connections.
Files.com deals with AS2 connections so for me, it is only a SFTP connection and i don't have to build a specific connector

 ### 4. Reliable, Secure, and Easy-to-Use File Management Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Boon X. | Associate Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Files.com offers a highly intuitive interface that makes file transfers and sharing incredibly easy, even for non-technical users. The platform provides strong security features like encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access controls, and detailed audit logs, ensuring data safety and compliance. I particularly appreciate its seamless integrations with popular cloud storage services and its automation features, which save significant time in repetitive workflows. The customer support team is also very responsive and knowledgeable.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

While the platform is robust, the initial setup can feel overwhelming due to the wide range of configuration options. Some advanced features require a learning curve, especially for users without prior experience in secure file transfer systems. Additionally, the pricing structure may feel a bit steep for smaller teams with basic requirements.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Files.com has streamlined our secure file transfer workflows, reducing dependency on multiple tools for managing and sharing sensitive data. Its centralized platform allows for easier tracking, auditing, and automation of file transfers, which has improved both efficiency and compliance. By integrating with our existing cloud services, it eliminates manual steps, speeds up data exchange with clients, and ensures that our files remain secure in transit and at rest.

 ### 5. Secure and easy solution for Enterprise SFTP integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isidro M. | IT Lead, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

The interface to create a new SFTP folder and grant user permissions is very easy to use. You also get a number of choices to connect to the files repo, including an very well documented REST API, which make it very easy for partners to integrate.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

I haven't found any downsizes. We're saving a lot of costs associated with infrastructure and its O&M.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our local SFTP implementation was complex to maintain. We had to take care of all details such as: user and creation, permission and quota management, server operation and maintenance. Due to this, our file integration projects with partners will take several weeks to launch. We looked for a solution that would abstract all the prior described complexity. Files.com enabled us to get rid of it. It did not only saved us money, but also allow us to integrate with key partners and/or clients, generating revenue, while doing it.

 ### 6. Files.com and why we need it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

reliable service, good configuration options and customizable for needs , support also on top of any questions

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

very , very , very expensive ,please work on lowering prices

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

access to files sharing platform and exchange with other users , plus keeping off any potential conflicts

 ### 7. Excellent File Transfer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Our company has used files.com for years. We have never had an issue with their service and it goes far beyond FTP transfers. With support for FTP, SFTP, Email, Web-based transfers, WebDAV and AS2 to start with, you have a ton of available options.

The amount of integration options you have is amazing. API interfaces, client software and more. They can even mount OTHER SFTP servers through your account to provide a common interface for you transfer needs.

No, you won't be spending $5/month on their service. The data governance and security feature alone warrant better pricing than that. For the services and functionality offered, pricing is fair and appropriate

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

It is a premium service offering, so I do wish pricing was better. That's about my only dislike. Yes, I do believe pricing is fair, but you can quickly let the quote get out of control. Be very clear on your requirements and wants so you can make the best decision.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This allows me to isolate user accounts from each other, restrict the removal and renaming of files so we always know when a file was received and by whom. Email alerts help ensure a file transfer is not missed.

 ### 8. Files.com for secure file exchanges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ralph G. | Director of IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Fast, ease of use and great customer service. Easy to contact support.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

a few features that would be good to have around handling of zip files but ultimately not much really to report as a long-time user of the platform.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves secure exchanges of files with our 3rd parties. Automating the movement of those files is also a huge time save.

**Official Response from Kevin Bombino:**

> Thank you for your feedback! We're constantly working to improve our platform, and I'll definitely share your comments about ZIP files with the team.

 ### 9. Effortless File Transfers with User-Friendly Interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Atish H.

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

I love the easy-to-use interface of Files.com that doesn't require any coding or command line to set up connections to other SFTP/FTP. It has solved our problem of needing people with programming knowledge to connect to SFTPs. The initial setup was very straightforward, with no complicated setup process. It makes automated file transfers and logging quick and effortless.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

It is working as intended for us

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Files.com simplifies automated file transfers with easy setup and logging, eliminating the need for coding skills.

 ### 10. Flexible and Solid

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris H. | Vice President of Production, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Our use case is simple- Files.com replaced a slow, insecure in-house FTP server. But what we discovered in the transition was how foolish it was to ever self host. The files.com environment is exponentially more secure, flexible, easy to maintain, and elegant over all and our users rave about the improved interface and upload experience. We have discovered a world of utility and flexibility that we never thought to look for, let alone expect and now we're finding new powerful ways to integrate it into our data workflows.
Setup was seamless, and customer support has been beyond fantastic despite being a very low revenue customer for them.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

As a relatively small non-profit, expense is always a factor but we have no regrets and the value we receive from it is well worth the cost which is certainly not out of line. We aren't exactly pushing the limits of what files.com offers but that's the only thing I can come up with as a "dislike," even though I would not claim it is unfair.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Files.com has replaced outdated methods of file delivery with collaborators outside of our organization and allowed us to vastly improve the presentation of our brand and the reliability and convenience for partners. The power of files.com's flexibility, integrations, automations, and security have opened up new efficiencies for us and our partners and the files.com team improves at a rapid pace.

 ### 11. Secure, Trustworthy Internal File Sharing—Still Evaluating

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

It seems like a highly secure and trustworthy solution for file sharing internally with agentic workflows I'm excited to try.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

We're in the process of evaluating it so cannot comment.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have many files that we collaborate on, and we’re eager to see how we can best automate our workflows around the files we use most, while still maintaining the proper controls and oversight.

 ### 12. Very versatile and scalable product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon B. | Director of IT Infrastructure, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

Files.com serves as a flexible file management system which integrates effortlessly across different systems. Files.com provides support for multiple protocols and major cloud platforms which enables straightforward automation of file operations and secure management of large-scale data transfers.

Our RareMed platform now works together with Files.com to automate file transfers while maintaining secure data sharing. We have achieved better operational efficiency while expanding our capacity to manage increasing amounts of data.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Pricing is always a point of concern. Files.com tends to cost more than other file management systems making it less suitable for small businesses or organizations with limited financial resources. Users find the search for particular files challenging because of inadequate name, type, or date sorting capabilities which slows down file management efficiency.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Files.com offers a single platform solution that resolves file transfer obstacles across diverse environments through its support for numerous protocols and integrations. Files.com maintains efficient connectivity and data exchange across both traditional FTP-based legacy systems and modern cloud platforms like AWS and Google Cloud. Organizations can automate file transfers across different systems using Files.com because it functions as both client and server for multiple protocols and includes ready-made integrations so they don't need to invest time in coding or managing servers. The versatile nature of Files.com enables secure and efficient file transfers between different systems while improving operational efficiency and simplifying mixed IT environments.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

We used to have our own FTP server in-house which was constantly shutting down due to the amount of traffic. Files.com solved that issue, and also added mirroring for us around the world for our global clients.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Not at this moment; I am still learning about files.com

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, I like archive logic, remote sftp to connect between two SFTP, and agent like drop box, etc.

 ### 20. A simple and agile solution, but with limitations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

It is very easy to use for any user. It allows different access permissions. Additionally, it contains multiple options that can be adapted to the needs of each user, to track shipments, files, or accesses.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

I feel like there are options that I'm not taking full advantage of, for example, the fact of connecting the desktop with the cloud. There should be a tutorial to know how to use all the available options and tools. I don't like that contacts aren't saved when you share. There should be a directory of people you've shared with, to use them again if needed.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't understand the question. The problems it helps me solve are those of sharing files with different groups of colleagues and clients.

 ### 21. Fast, Efficient File Management with Top-Notch Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sheldon w.

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

I really appreciate how quick the help response is at Files.com, and how fast they respond. I also like how fast you can upload and download files. The initial setup was very easy, which is another plus for me.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Nothing

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Files.com for sending daily trade info to correspondents, and it provides trade info for my clients.

 ### 22. Non-IT user of Files.com

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phillip W. | Director of EDI Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

As a non-IT user of Files.com, I have found it to be easy and reliable. We primarily use it for automated SFTP file transfers. I have been able to set up automations for pushing and pulling files, with a level of customization that has allowed us to circumvent issues presented by some of our trading partners. I have not needed assistance from customer support, as the functionality that I require was possible without it. One of our IT admins needed customer support regarding getting dedicated IP addresses for whitelisting purposes, and that was resolved within two days. I would strongly recommend Files.com for anyone needing a service for handling their FTP.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

While I wouldn't necessarily consider it a strike against Files.com, the greatest barrier I experience is my own ignorance. There are options available that I simply don't understand, or perhaps they aren't applicable to my situation. Within the uses that I do understand, the functionality has been straightforward. It would be extremely difficult to provide this level of functionality with modern, enterprise level, security features. I think Files.com does an excellent job walking the line between accessibility and a high level of functionality.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to Files.com, our SFTP functions were performed manually with an FTP client. Now, the receipt and exchange of our data files is automated, improving turnaround time and eliminating any manual errors.

 ### 23. Great Secure File Transfer Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan Q. | Wealth Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

I love how easy it is for client's to get files over to me. The link in my email is super convienent and it was all really simple and easy to set up. I use it several times per week to receieve files from clients and the feed back that I get from them is great. It is way better than trying to get them to reply to a secure email so that what they were sending was encrypted and safe for them.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

I don't like that I can't list that I have nothing that I don't like in this review.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows my clients to easily submit documents to me securley.

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

What a great platform. Exceeds our expactations.

We moved from a self-managed on-prem SFTP to files.com a few years ago and it had literally exceeeded our expectations in every manner. This includes: functionality, support, security, and pricing.

We currently use IP whiteliest to help with our security and this is done is a very smart manner.
We changed our comany name and a File.com expert was there to guide us to use a temporary alias, migrate all connections, then update the site name to seamlessly make this change with zero downtime.

I can't think of a feature this product does not have and would 100% recommend files.com to anyone and everyone.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

I have honestly not seen anything to dislike.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Nothing really. Support is super helpful and made it easy to get onboarded.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to retire a legacy ftp server that was exposed to the internet. This allowed us to mitigate any risk with having that server on prem.

**Official Response from Kevin Bombino:**

> Great that you haven't experienced any outages since switching to Files.com. Thank you for choosing us!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin B. | IT Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

As a seasoned systems administrator, I've had the pleasure of implementing Files.com at two distinct organizations, and I can say that it has revolutionized the way we manage our file-sharing needs. The flexibility to integrate Files.com with other cloud storage solutions and automate file transfers across our entire organization is nothing short of remarkable.

Initially, our goal was to create a simple web portal for customers to upload files. However, as we dove deeper into the capabilities of Files.com, we discovered a powerhouse of a solution that far exceeded our expectations. The desktop application, CLI/SDK tooling, and integrations available with Files.com have allowed us to deliver unparalleled file-sharing experiences to our users.

One of the most significant advantages of Files.com is its versatility. It seamlessly integrates with various cloud storage solutions, enabling us to create a cohesive file-sharing ecosystem that caters to our unique organizational needs. This flexibility has enabled me to confidently say "Yes, Files.com can do that!" for numerous project requests, impressing stakeholders and meeting their expectations.

What's truly impressive about Files.com is its support team. Their guidance and assistance were always readily available whenever we encountered any challenges or had questions. The extensive documentation provided by the team has been an invaluable resource in ensuring a smooth onboarding process.

As a systems administrator, I can say that Files.com has made my life significantly easier. It's streamlined our file-sharing processes, reduced errors, and increased productivity across our organization. The peace of mind that comes with knowing our files are securely stored and easily accessible is unparalleled.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

I wish there was more attention spent on branding and customization. This doesn't really bother me as a systems admin, but the graphics and marketing teams would love to be able to do more with the landing page for the customer facing portal. The branding in my opinion is "fine" but it has room for improvement.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Files.com is a turnkey low maintenance solution. I don't have to worry about certificates, web hosting, or any of the other headaches with the public internet. We get a nice web portal for our customers, ad hoc file sharing, and integrations to AWS and AZURE. We also utilize the on prem file syncing which allows our users to work locally as if the files are on a traditional file server. I absolutely love the fine grained identity management options. SSO worked after 5 minutes of setup. Things just work.

**Recommendations to others considering Files.com:**

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Files.com allows to connect our vendors and allows automatic information sharing. The software allows automatization well. We have used it for transferring/storing XML files

 ### 42. Great for secure file transfers but could use easier file sorting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose C. | Jr. Product Manager over Integrations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

I love the SFTP transfer setup—it’s perfect for automating reports and sending them to clients without too much hassle. The guest access feature is super handy, too, since it lets me securely share files without hassle. It’s great for keeping things efficient and secure. The SFTP feature lets me automate stuff easily, and giving clients quick access through guest links is a lifesaver.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Finding specific files can be a pain without sorting options by name, type, or date. It’d be awesome if they could add some flexibility here. Not having a sorting option slows things down when you’re trying to track down a specific file, so that could definitely be improved. I don't login to Files.com too often, but when I do, I need to find files as quick as possible.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Files.com is super handy for handling secure file transfers and automating things like sending reports to clients through SFTP. I love how easy it is to give guests specific access to files for quick, secure sharing without extra steps. The only downside I’ve noticed is that searching for files can be tricky without sorting options by name, type, or date. Overall, though, it’s a reliable, efficient tool that keeps our data safe and our workflow smooth.
