## About Files.com
Files.com is the secure, cloud-native File Orchestration Platform built to replace the patchwork of legacy file infrastructure: aging SFTP servers, heavy MFT suites, separate file-sharing tools, and the custom scripts holding them together, all with one system. IT teams stop losing hours to patching servers and chasing failed transfers, while business users get a clean interface that works for technical and non-technical teams alike. Files.com consolidates every file flow into a single platform with centralized access controls, policy enforcement, and complete audit visibility. It presents every storage system (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, on-premises NAS, and 50+ other connectors) as one governed namespace, so multiple clouds and on-prem storage work as one. Automate mission-critical flows with no-code workflows, or build against a full REST API, SDKs, and a Terraform provider. Files.com speaks SFTP, FTPS, FTP, WebDAV, and AS2, exposes an S3-compatible endpoint, and supports OpenPGP and GPG, connecting modern apps, multiple clouds, and legacy partners without middleware. AES-256 encryption in transit and at rest, fine-grained role-based access, SSO, SCIM, and MFA, and immutable audit trails support SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR, and ITAR requirements. Built cloud-native with elastic scaling, there are no servers to patch or manage. Files.com is ranked #1 for Managed File Transfer in Gartner Peer Insights and scores #1 across every attribute on G2's MFT grid. More than 4,000 organizations trust it, including Equifax, Rag & Bone, Cognizant, and Michelin, with over 15 years of operation and zero breaches. Go live fast with expert-led onboarding included.

## Files.com Reviews
 ### 1. Files.com Works Well For The Most Part

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

It has an easy to use interface that my non-technical end users are able to use to search for files and data.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

We cannot search out AWS S3 buckets filled with call recordings currently. It takes forever to load a single bucket. We have millions of recordings and do not want to move this archived AWS S3 data to another location.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently files.com is used to search for call recordings by a small subset of our business. It would be great if it could index our AWS S3 buckets and be used to search all of our call recordings for our entire business.

**Official Response from Kevin Bombino:**

> Hi,

Thanks for the review and thanks for bringing the issue with slow loading S3 listings to our attention. The issue you were running into was fairly specific to the configuration of your bucket, and we have fixed the issue. Your S3 listings should be lightning fast at this point.

We hear you about making S3 buckets searchable and we are working on trying to squeeze that into our roadmap for this quarter. We'll keep you updated!

 ### 2. Great managed file transfer service. Very pricey.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

The user interface and feature set of files.com is great. We are able to use it for automated file transfers as well as allowing non-technical users to view and upload files via the web interface. Unlimited storage is also a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

The per-user pricing model is very steep. It seems counterintuitive that we are charged a hefty monthly fee for each user (which costs nothing for files.com) while paying a flat rate for unlimited storage (which does cost $$ for files.com). It is getting to the point where the per-user cost is too steep for us to justify. There is also a bizarre quirk of the annual billing model wherein if we add one additional user over our pre-paid quota (e.g. we go from 150 to 151 users on a 150 user plan), we are charged a pro-rated amount for the full year of that user. All well and good but if we de-activate that user and add another (e.g. we go from 150 -> 151 -> 150 -> 151 users), we are again charged the pro-rated rate for the full year. So if we're close to our quota and frequently moving between being under and over our allotted users, we wind up being double charged.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our core business needs that files.com solves are a managed SFTP server with a web interface for non-technical users. Files.com is great for both of these use cases but we wind up paying for a lot of functionality we don't actually need or use.

**Official Response from Kevin Bombino:**

> Thanks for the comments.

As a company that is still young compared to the competition (the products we compare with on G2 were started in 1991, 1994, and 1977) we are admittedly still trying to find the best pricing model that makes sense for us and our customers. We think each iteration gets us closer to that goal but there are always some rough edges. The good news is that now that you are at 150 users, additional users are much cheaper.

Regarding the billing quirk you mentioned, we are more than happy to refund you the additional charges caused by that. Just reach out to billing@files.com.

We are also working on lots of additional tools to help you forecast resource needs to hopefully catch things in advance next time.

Thanks again for your business and we look forward to continuing to serve you.

 ### 3. Loved the service but then they raised my rates by close to 500%

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

I love the ease of using Files.com. And their support staff can't be beat!

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

The fact that they can just raise my rate from $50.00 a month, to $289.00 a month is just terrible.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have to use GoDaddy FTP anymore which was a nightmare.

**Official Response from Kevin Bombino:**

> Hi! Thanks for your updated review. It is true that we are no longer offering $50 monthly packages, however we do have great options available for Small Businesses who are able to make an annual or a multi-year commitment.

I'm sure your Account Manager has written you several emails, please get in touch with them and we'll make sure we take care of you.

 ### 4. Functional but expensive

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Files.com?**

A lot of functions and controls, nice clean interface

**What do you dislike about Files.com?**

Price, they have change the price model about 8 months ago.

**What problems is Files.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy way to manage multiple SFTP accounts, easy sharing and great security.

**Official Response from Kevin Bombino:**

> Thanks for the review! We now have multi-year contract options that offer a discount in exchange for a longer commitment. Please reach out to your Account Manager to learn more.
