You can install it on any type of web server (a hosting account, a PC/laptop running a HTTP server on Windows, Mac or Linux), a NAS (like Synology, QNAP, TrueNAS, unRaid etc). It is very fast yet feature rich. Very average interface & support **Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Pranil B. | D, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2022 **What do you like best about FileRun?** I prefer Filerun due to its ease of actually finding the files you want! I tried nextcloud, both in my MAMP setup as a test, then live on my own server, and I found it overkill for what I wanted: something to back up my data in such a way that I can easily see what's there. Nextcloud does too much, which is good if you want that. But I discovered I didn't. I installed Filerun then primarily because it can read existing directories **What do you dislike about FileRun?** With the mobile app for FileRun simply not working for me properly (could not upload things, it would silently die). **What problems is FileRun solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use fileRun as strictly a file management application. Once you unzip the installation archives, Nextcloud takes 151 MB while FileRun takes just 22 MB. That says a lot. ### 2.
