Recommendations to others considering FileCenter:
Before using FileCenter, take some time and view the many video tutorials they have on their site. There is a lot of information but it's worth going through them to make the most use of the software. It has so many features that I'm still discovering better ways of doing things even after almost 10 years of using this software.
Also, I don't know what's going on with their pricing, but it appears to me that they are selling the higher priced version with all the features that I had when I first purchased the version 7 software. I could be wrong, but that is one of the main reasons I stopped upgrading after version 9 because it looked like I was paying more for less than what I already had. For instance, I purchased the standard version for $49 and then upgraded a couple of times up to version 9. But my standard version 9 has many of the features that are only available with the Pro version which is currently priced at $139.97. So if I upgrade just to have the latest version, I end up losing all the OCR features, PDF editing and some of the most important scanning features like Scanning to searchable PDF. Even Folder status indicators were taken out. And that's just a few. These features are no longer part of the Standard version anymore. So I'm sticking with my version 9 for as long as it's still working. But already I'm starting to see some shortcomings like not being able to properly view the newer Microsoft Office document formats. Other than that, it's still a rock solid file management software.
