## Figma Reviews
  ### 1. Account Management Risks Despite Robust Features

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Imran Y.

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Figma?**

I find Figma incredibly valuable for sharing design work. Its ability to easily share links with customers makes it seamless to convey ideas during meetings. This feature simplifies communication and enhances understanding between me and my clients. Additionally, Figma fosters continuous learning, allowing me to explore and acquire new skills as I engage with its extensive features. The platform also makes it effortless to find references, which is essential in refining my design projects and ensuring they meet high standards. Figma serves as an effective tool for website design, enabling me to create aesthetically pleasing and functional web layouts. This capability enhances my productivity and allows me to deliver quality outcomes in my projects consistently.

**What do you dislike about Figma?**

I am frustrated with Figma because my account was closed, resulting in the loss of three years of work, and I didn't get my files back. Figma should at least notify users before suspending accounts and give a chance to download files. This makes buying Figma risky, as I fear similar issues could happen again.

**What problems is Figma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Figma easy to share designs with clients, facilitating better understanding during meetings and supporting continuous learning.

  ### 2. very poor billing and invoicing experience.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Figma?**

intuitive interface and real-time collaboration features. makes it easy for teams to work together on design projects without complex setup.

**What do you dislike about Figma?**

The billing and invoicing experience is very poor. I was charged for a subscription but did not receive any invoice by email. When the team became locked, the billing section was no longer accessible, making it impossible to retrieve historical invoices from the admin panel.
This forced me to spend unnecessary time contacting support just to obtain a basic accounting document. For a professional SaaS product, this level of billing transparency and accessibility is unacceptable and should be improved.

**What problems is Figma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prototyping

  ### 3. Software with intentional design flaws

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon T. | IT Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Figma?**

It looks ok. End users don't complain about it very much.

**What do you dislike about Figma?**

It has intentional design flaws to encourage the end user to purchase higher cost licenses. For example, SCIM provisioning on the organization tier does not work properly. When a user account is created in Figma, via SCIM, the account is locked until the user logs in for the first time. This prevents admins from assigning licenses or making any other changes. Basically, it is JIT provisioning! They do this to try an attract you to their highest payment plan where License, team, and role management via SCIM is enabled. I'm sure there's a lawsuit in here somewhere.

Another design flaw is that, unless you are on the enterprise tier, it's very hard to manage seat allocation. End users seem to spontaneously receive the most expensive seat and we have to constantly review this to keep costs down.

**What problems is Figma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's not benefitting us.

  ### 4. New pricing politics make figma useless

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Евгений . | Архитектор программного обеспечения, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Figma?**

Simple collaboration and easy sharing (gone in current wesion)

**What do you dislike about Figma?**

Free version block inspector mode, now renamed to dev node
Paid pro version alows only use inspector mode in your own desgns
Collaboration wasted
Just unuseable now

**What problems is Figma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team comunication (mostly designer and frontend). After last update frontend tools simple unusable and no way to fix em even in pro plan

  ### 5. Good product but be careful or you will be ripped off

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave Z. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Figma?**

Great for website mock ups with the ability for the team to extract assets. Good flexibility for Product Owners and design staff to create the vision and allow the development team to easily follow and build the product.

**What do you dislike about Figma?**

We have had a figma account for since April of 2021. I paid for 2 seats annually. This is a good software, but the way the billing works can lead to you spending thousands of dollars more than you should have. My team uses figma for mock ups for clients and internal projects. Only one employee makes edits and the rest just view the end product. It appears that as my employee has shared projects with people outside of our organization figma is making them full members and charging for a seat. This went on for 14 months before my CPA brought to my attention the high fees we were paying. I am the owner on the account while my employee was just a member the system never thought to ask approval to start charging more for more seats. I get thousands of emails a week so until it was pointed out to me I missed where I was being overcharged. I understand the responsibility is also on the account holder but when you pay the bills for systems you don't use personally things tend to blend together. This company should do a much better job ensuring account owners are being notified and honestly should approve a seat they will be charged for. I have paid over $2000 more than I should have over the past 3 years. The company refunded me a measly $200, which in not good enough for me not to warn others that they need to be careful before they are ripped off.

**What problems is Figma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to better create a visual representation of the software products we are building. Allows team to design without coding which helps with planning system features as we go.

  ### 6. Good Features, but Terrible Support and Terrible for Large Organizations

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim R. | C, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Figma?**

It's very intuitive and easy to use. It allows you to create clickable prototypes that you can demo without needing to write any code. Users can easily collaborate (if you can get the permissions set up right), work on the same document at the same time, and have a conversation in the commetns section.

**What do you dislike about Figma?**

The permissions structure is terrible. You can set users as "Team Administrator" but they still can't access or change permissions on individual files unless the file owner allows it. So, if you have a file owned by someone, and they leave the company or you are no longer able to contact them, you basically lose the whole file becuase even a "Team Administrator" can't change the permissions. If you use contractors, I would strongly recommend AGAINST using Figma for this reason. Ironically, I was trying to give a user permissions to edit a file, and I got an error "You don't have permission to do that. Contact your team administrator." I am the team administrator. I guess I contact myself?

Also, their support is terrible. Absolutely terrible. They offer zero real-time support options, even for users on their highest level paid plans who are paying thousands of dollars a month. Your only option is to go back and forth over email, which wastes a day for each cycle. And their support staff are not very good. The first response you get from them will be asking you questions that you already answered in your original request, and making "speculations" as to what the problem might be, often that are clearly not relevant if they had just read the original request.

For the amount of money they charge, they really should offer real-time support by chat, with immediate response. They also need to hire and train their support staff better.

**Recommendations to others considering Figma:**

If you are an individual designer, or a very small organization (3-4 users), Figma is an excellent tool for prototyping. However, the terrible permission structure makes it impossible to manage for even a small company. Also, their support is horrible, slow to respond and just wastes your time without providing solutions.

**What problems is Figma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Figma to create designs for our user interface so that our developers can easily develop the code in our web applications. Figma is a good tool for this. As mentioned the software is great, but the permissions management is terrible and Figma's support is terrible.

  ### 7. Really?

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Attila B. | UX/UI Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Figma?**

Although this feature (the way Figma has it) isn't used that much in UX/UI in general. The opportunity for collaboration seems great—especially the commenting on prototypes UI. I wish clients didn't prefer sending a PDF for comments. I get their point; version control is critical, and keeping work files separate from comments is ideal. The hand-off to devs is ok. Bur not as good as smooth as Xd or Sketch. Running on a browser is good / Prototypes loading slow (like diel up slow) is bad. It's trying to keep up with Xd's features / Not doing a great job, though. The auto animate is good enough. The auto frame layout fails as soon as you try to do anything more than basic stuff (it's a joke compared to Xd).

**What do you dislike about Figma?**

Clunky. Unintuitive. Sometimes backwards, at times not, you never know.
As of 2021 - Expensive compared to other options. A lot of our clients use it.
It's not a complex app to learn, but it is a complex app to remember all the funky quirks; it's just disjointed with inconsistent poor workflow.

Example: I'll youtube how to do something simple than something more complex in the same direction (because it's unintuitive and at times impossible to figure out), then I'll spend three weeks building stuff out easy. I'll get pulled on a different project for a week. When I get back to that original one, I'll have to look up how to do that exact thing again each time.

It's a bit frustrating to use. I built my first pc when I was 11 and self-taught myself MS-DOS 3d Max and Ps when I was 12; I naturally learn apps very fast. I know this is a step up from what Sketch can do, but this app seems like 50 very different people built it - all pulling in a differnt direction and some contradicting each other.

**Recommendations to others considering Figma:**

Try Xd before switching from Sketch to Figma. Ask your designers to build the same thing. Then ask them to make updates for it to fit other devices, like web to mobile or tablet. Then see which takes longer. Figma takes longer to learn and slower to use.

Keep in mind that most app review sites for Figma vs Xd are a bit outdated. These people aren't pro. They make their money writing reviews and producing videos that get the most clicks (clickbait). Since Figma has a steeper learning curve and it's a bit disjointed, more people are googling how to ________ in Figma than in most apps. For review content producers, the result is they end up seeing a larger crowd for Figma. So they produce even more Figma videos and articles. They are creating content for money.

**What problems is Figma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UI

  ### 8. Very hard app to use and understand

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sujata N. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Figma?**

Lot of flexibility in features and use for designers

**What do you dislike about Figma?**

Hard to consume mock walk throughs and make changes as a consumption user

**Recommendations to others considering Figma:**

This is great for a designer persona... but horrible consumption experience when desginers want to share with others to consume and understand the click through

**What problems is Figma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The designers do mock ups here and the PMs consume and analyze the behavior and do redline validation with figma
