  ### 1. The "Universal" 3D Format

**What do you like best about FBX?**

FBX has become the "universal" 3D format between most 3D software. It's the easiest and fastest way to export your scene from and application and import it into another, and include the textures, animation, lighting, and cameras.

**What do you dislike about FBX?**

Sometimes it takes a bit longer to import FBX files and read them, so you need to adjust your import settings. And the materials and textures need some tweaking once imported. It still takes work, but it's still better than other options in my opinion.

**Recommendations to others considering FBX:**

Always check your import settings in your primary 3D software. To make sure you're importing what's needed and so-on.

**What problems is FBX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whether I'm working with an agency or freelancing, I always find myself using assets from different software, or collaberaing with someone using a different software. So, FBX files became the bridge between that software.

**What do you like best about FBX?**

FBX consistantly gives stable results when transfering data between autodesk software packages.

**What do you dislike about FBX?**

FBX file format doesn't carry all necessary information to other software packages such as Nuke or Houdini

**Recommendations to others considering FBX:**

Alembic file format is still a standard, FBX works well for autodesk packages only at the moment

**What problems is FBX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identified several areas from exportation that FBX cannot correctly export.  Resulting in loss of data and manual input is needed to correct this.

I like the speed in FBX opens up 3dStudio models for viewing

**What do you dislike about FBX?**

The FFX interface is a little different than other Windows programs.

**Recommendations to others considering FBX:**

I highly recommend FBX as an excellent viewer for 3dStudio formatted files.

**What problems is FBX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With FBX Viewer we can quickly view 3dStudio files without having the use of the program
