"Effortless Financial Reporting, Needs Multi-Entity Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Fathom?

I use Fathom for our monthly and annual financial reports, and it solves the problem of relying on Excel by automatically providing the reports I need. I find it easy to use, and I can easily play with reports and add visuals. These features allow us to present reports to management who may not understand complicated financial documents easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fathom?

Availability of some features that involve multiple entities. Budgets, for example, we could not generate the budget for the next financial year reflecting budget figures per entity in a consolidated report. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Financial Reporting with a Learning Curve"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Fathom?

I really like Fathom's exceptionally robust financial reporting engine combined with its flexible KPI tracking framework. The capability to seamlessly track both traditional financial metrics and custom nonfinancial operational KPIs in one single space is invaluable for our reporting needs. Additionally, the native integration layer is incredibly stable, effortlessly handling the heavy lifting of data ingestion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fathom?

If I had to point out a drawback, it would be that the platform comes with a noticeable learning curve, and can feel a bit difficult to navigate when you first log in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Highly Customizable with Room for Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Fathom?

I use Fathom for forecasts and monthly reporting. It makes good monthly management information packs quickly, and I find it easy to use. I really like the layout and flexibility, as there are many options to customize tables and charts. It's easy to set up layouts that I like and need for each client. I also like the option to save templates that can later be used for other clients. Additionally, the support team is great at answering all queries quickly, which made the initial setup okay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fathom?

The forecasting feature could be improved, especially the microforecasts as they don't work as well as I'd hoped. For example, when setting up automatic VAT calculations, only 'baseline' transactions are included and anything from a microforecasts isn't part of the VAT automatic calculations. Also, in the reports, tables aren't as flexible as I'd like. I can't make tables take up half the page or two-thirds, like with charts; they have to be the full width of the page. Additionally, the percentage results are always shown with two decimal places, and there's no option to customize that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable Alternative with Customizable KPIs"
5/5
What do you like best about Fathom?

I like the relative ease of customizing different KPIs with Fathom, which is great because we have certain metrics that are highly specific to our operations and need to be tracked. It's also an affordable alternative for consolidating books compared to ERP systems that cost a thousand to two thousand dollars a month and require no implementation. The price is super important for a small business like mine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fathom?

When we have a change on our chart of accounts, a change in names specifically, that can cause all of our formulas to break down instead of referencing the old account, it just breaks the formula, and then I have to go in and make sure that all the formulas are reset. "Robust Budgeting Tool with Stellar Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Fathom?

I find Fathom very helpful, especially for its forecasting features. We use the forecast mostly to make our budget at the end of the year. It's easy having the rolling 12 months imported; then Fathom calculates what it thinks the forecast is which we can easily update. The reporting functions are very easy to use to make custom reports which can be shared with the team. I also like that Fathom imports class data with actuals and budget. The integration with QuickBooks works really well, especially bringing in the budgets and the AR/AP. The initial setup was very straightforward, and there's a really helpful user guide on each new page you visit, making it easy to navigate. The customer support team is incredibly helpful, responsive, and quick, solving all my issues. It's usually the same few people you're chatting with, which I find reliable. What do you dislike about Fathom?

I really wish Fathom had the ability to bring in vendors or customers because often you want to drill into that detail within the Analysis tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Financial Reporting with Fathom"
5/5
What do you like best about Fathom?

I love the standout capability of Fathom, which has to be the library of customizable report templates combined with flexible forecasting and multi-scenario modeling tools. Being able to set up a standardized professional layout once and roll it out seamlessly across different client accounts saves us an incredible amount of heavy lifting while maintaining a cohesive brand image. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fathom?

If there is one area where I feel the platform falls a bit short, it is the rigid constraint around selecting custom time periods for reporting and deep analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Detailed Reporting Stories with Easy Xero Integration"
4/5
What do you like best about Fathom?

Creates a great detailed story, easy to pull information in from Xero Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fathom?

Occasionally the lack of flexibility around what can be reported & how. With a wide range of clients we have a lot of reports where we may need to report across custom periods and it would be handy to have that functionality Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpful for Meetings, but Needs Improved Intuitiveness"
4/5
What do you like best about Fathom?

It enables me to efficiently put together my monthly management accounts. I enjoy how it allows for really quick commentary comparing actuals, budgets, previous months, and it uses really helpful charts. I help I have received from the Fathom team has been amazing and they are also available outside of working hours which is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fathom?

I find it not very intuitive to use. I feel the charts are quite restrictive. I also found the initial setup was not that easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Financials with Fast Results"
4/5
What do you like best about Fathom?

I like Fathom because it is easy to use and generates reports quickly. I appreciate that it is linked to QuickBooks, which streamlines the creation of monthly Financial Statements for the board. Plus, if I have a problem, I get help straight away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fathom?

I think the use of AI in Fathom could be improved. It would be better if AI could help with changing report formats or customizing them more easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fathom: Tackles Inefficiency with Fast, Accurate Reporting"
5/5
What do you like best about Fathom?

I really like how Fathom solves inefficiencies we had and removes the risk of human error. The speed of producing reports and the variety of reports that can be generated with the same data are impressive. It allows me to produce reports confidently for management, directors, and our external board, providing them with the information they need. Setting up Fathom was easy, getting the format we wanted was straightforward, and once set up, it was ready to use fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fathom?

There are times that you need to review the formulas it calculates as it misses some custom KPIs that should be included. We aren't able to connect it to our Sage50. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
