Quartz FA-LIMS is a Laboratory Information Management System built for Imaging labs like Failure Analysis or Materials Characterization labs. It was designed for the image-intensive nature of these labs and the complex, customized reporting these labs need to deliver to internal engineering teams and external clients. FA-LIMS is configured to match each lab's specific workflow, terminology, and job structure rather than forcing labs to adapt to a fixed data model. Its integration with Quartz PCI is a core part of the system: image acquisition, measurement, and analysis data flow directly into FA-LIMS without a separate upload step, and different PCI configurations support different instrument types across a lab's toolset. The system tracks every job as it moves through the lab, time-stamping state transitions by job, session, sample, instrument, and analyst. This produces detailed management reporting and dashboard views covering lab throughput, bottlenecks, and KPIs, information most LIMS platforms cannot generate because they lack this level of workflow-state tracking. FA-LIMS also supports quota systems on job requests, automated business rule and security enforcement, automatic client email updates, and barcode scanning at sample check-in and instrument stations. Implementation is a configuration engagement rather than an off-the-shelf install, since Quartz's team builds the system around each lab's existing terminology and process rather than requiring the lab to restructure around the software.
