## Extend Reviews
  ### 1. Unmatched Card Control and Seamless AMEX Integration with Extend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron C. | Staff Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Extend?**

I work in an accounting department that makes extensive us of the Extend service. We charge a lot to our cards and having superior control is critical to ensuring there isn't any abuse done by external vendors.

I love Extend's ability to define how much you would like to allow to be charged and ability enable and disable cards at will. The amount of control is unmatched by other products.

I also enjoyed the ability to easily add and define cards based on their use. It's super easy to add a singular card to be used for a subscription and the like.

I also find the integration into our AMEX credit card account to be seemless and this makes reconciling easy.

My head of department was able to teach me how to use Extend in record time based on the easy of use. I've never had any issues with the service as it always is available when it intends to be.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

I honestly cannot think of two many reasons to dislike Extend. It's not going to radically change your workflow but it also doesn't have to. If you are willing to make the investment into Extend, which I find to rather affordable especially if you already are apart of the American Express Ecosystem, you'll find it well worth the price.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We work with a lot of sub-contractors and having a heavily controllable way of paying them easily with credit card is critical to our work flow.

In the past, we give out our cards to various parties and we often find ourselves charged for incorrect amounts or charged earlier in the payment timeline we agreed to. With Extend, all of them is definable in the UI.

  ### 2. Convenient, User-Friendly Expense Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sacha N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Extend?**

I use Extend for classroom and work expenses. It's very helpful because I don't have to fill out expense reports and attach receipts. I can take a picture of the receipt while I'm still at the store and submit it, which is a huge time saver. The convenience is what I like most about Extend. It's helpful to know how much of my classroom budget I've already spent and have left for the year, all in real time. The initial setup was very easy and user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

The only inconvenience I have had is that Hobby Lobby, a local store yet large chain, does not accept it because they do not accept digital payment.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Extend to avoid filling out expense reports and attaching receipts, saving time by submitting receipts at the store. It helps track my classroom budget in real time.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

I had an issue where I requested a card and it didn’t work. I tried a few more times a few hours later, but it still didn’t go through. I reached out to customer support, and it took about a day to get a response, even though I needed the payment urgently.

It has assisted in multiple people from our office get cards to assist in payments and save time on accounting side.

**What do you like best about Extend?**

I like how easy it is to track transactions and provide receipts for purchases. The whole process is straightforward, simple to use, and works great.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

Depending on how your organization uses Extend, there can be many different options for what a transaction is for, and you end up having to scroll to find the one you’re looking for. I think a search bar should be added to make this easier.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us understand where purchases are being made and how much budget we should allocate for next year, based on this year’s spending.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

It is very easy to add my card onto my apple pay. Generally speaking I never had any issues making purchases on the card. I also like how it easy to be able to sort through any transactions. While I do not use these features I like how you can also add any reciepts, be added onto teams, and expense categories provided.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

I've had issues with logging into the mobile app. This was frustrating because I could log onto the web browser, but I needed to add the card onto my apple pay. I was running into an issue where it would not accept my verification code but it ended up being resolved.

Allows me to be able to use the company card easily without much fustrations.

Using Extend has been extremely helpful for working with specific vendors when we don't want to share our primary credit card number. It's been a great solution for protecting our accounts without sacrificing flexibility.

**Reviewed by:** Myra T. | Paralegal, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Extend?**

Ease of use and quick turnaround. When I need to pay something i.e. court fees, or a service, I simply use the credit card on file and get it done. The website's feature on keeping tabs of expenses and being able to drop receipts into the website is most helpful when accounts audit files.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

The only feature that is annoying with Extend is having cards expire and having to sign in when a certain time limit is met and the program kicks you out automatically.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It cuts the middle man and allows others to use the credit card feature without actually having a physical credit card that needs to be shared in the office.

I love that Extend is easy to use and quick to get things done. It's super easy to set up, and I can quickly understand how to get cards going, whether they're standard or recurring. When I need to get a bunch of cards, it doesn't take long, especially if they are the same thing. I appreciate that I can make new cards to access more accounts to purchase items that might be limited. It also lets me give cards to buyers to purchase with my card. I also like the ability to give access to different people to the business account while limiting how much can be spent.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

Not sure if there is a thing for it already but if I could make a batch of cards that would save more time than Extend already does

I use Extend to give controlled access to business funds by creating cards quickly, allowing spending limits. It's easy and efficient for managing multiple transactions.

  ### 9. Fast, User-Friendly, and Customizable Credit Solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Skye M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Extend?**

I like using Extend because it's fast, easy, and user-friendly. I appreciate the ability to customize the amount on each card and choose whether it continues indefinitely or has an expiry date. This customization is crucial for us as every client has different needs and media plans, some on a campaign basis and others on long-term agreements. The initial setup was very easy, making it convenient to start using the service.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

The name on the credit card... it would be nice to have the option to select which name appears on the card versus the person that is opening it from their account. My role has me opening a lot of credit cards, but my boss' name should be on the card - instead mine is by default

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extend streamlines opening company credit cards, making it fast and user-friendly. It allows customization based on each client's media plan, accounting for variable needs.

I also like being able to review the transactions in my wallet, since it makes it easier to track my spending and submit expenses.

I honestly don’t have any items I dislike. The product and the site work well for what I need, and they let me operate and manage company expenses without having to rely on my personal credit cards.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me keep track of expenses and transactions, which is especially useful when I travel and receipts tend to pile up. It also integrates smoothly with our expense reporting system. Overall, it saves me a lot of time and makes the whole process much more efficient.

Extend is so helpful in not only keeping our main credit card account numbers secure from fraudulent activity by creating virtual card numbers, but it also allows us to instantaneously categorize each expense for budgeting and monthly statement reconciliation. Highly recommend Extend for any business wanting to streamline their expenses and keep their card numbers secure.

The initial implementation and integration processes only took about 5 minutes to setup and the process of setting up a new v-card takes less than 1 minute, thus ease of integration is superb. We utilize the services of Extend daily for multiple transactions.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

We have not found any downsides or dislikes with Extend, it is so easy use and very quick to add, edit or inactivate v-cards on the fly. And because we have never had any issues , we have not had any need to interact with Customer Service to-date. But we anticipate that they would also be very helpful and efficient for a resolution if any issue were to arise.

  ### 14. Efficient Expense Management with Virtual Cards

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan A. | Senior Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Extend?**

I like the virtual card aspect of Extend, where I can create separate cards for different uses. This allows me to put marketing expenses on one card and IT expenses on another. It helps me segment my spending and makes sure everything is accurately and easily accounted for by my employees. I also found the initial setup of Extend very easy.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

The only drawback of using virtual cards is every so often, I need a physical card to complete a purchase. In those cases, I have to use a different card and not use the Extend virtual card.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extend allows me to pay for business expenses and report on them easily at month's end. I like the virtual card aspect, enabling me to create separate cards for different uses. It helps me segment spending and ensures everything is accurately accounted for.

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Extend?**

I like best about Extend is the ease of creating temporary or recurring credit cards for payments and co-workers. Also, expiration dates can be chosen, cards can be canceled easily. Virtual cards can also be used multiple times until the balance is used. Customer support was great, we had a virtual meeting that answered our questions and walked through some of the features.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

In the free version, only five members can be issued a card.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extend helps solve the problem of having to issue a permanent card that could come with fees, or that might get lost or stolen. Since nothing online is completely foolproof, using Extend virtual cards gives me some added peace of mind. **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Extend?**

I really like that with Extend, I can turn a card on and off literally instantly. This feature has been very helpful because there have been instances where people tried to charge my card before I was ready, and because the card was off, the charges were declined. Once I was ready to let them charge the card, I turned it on and it all worked smoothly. Also, the initial setup of Extend was easy, like very easy.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

Nothing really, there are always small things with everything that could be different, but it's really pretty good

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extend helps manage virtual cards for paying bills, preventing unauthorized charges by allowing instant card toggling. This feature declined unwanted attempts, ensuring control over payments.

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Extend?**

I like the ease of use. Extend is very user friendly, making it simple for anyone to log in, check their budget, and make qualifying purchases. It works well to assign a budget per individual and for each person to keep track of their available budget.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

The login could be a little easier. I dislike that every time I minimize the screen, I have to log in again.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extend ensures accurate budget keeping, and it's user-friendly for checking receipts and budget spend.

  ### 30. Efficient Expense Management with Instant Receipt Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex B. | Regional Plant Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Extend?**

I use Extend for work-related expenses, and I find that it makes everything easier and more efficient. The ability to review receipts within 24 hours of expenses taking place is particularly useful as it allows me to process receipts faster and get my statement paid on time. Setting up Extend was very easy, which was a nice start.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

It'd be cool if we could email receipts to an address and the receipts could then be synced up with the app, instead of logging into the app each time.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extend makes managing work-related expenses easier and more efficient. I can review receipts within 24 hours, allowing me to process them faster and ensure timely payment of statements.

  ### 31. Intuitive and Seamless Virtual Credit Card Solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Geo C. | ESG Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Extend?**

I like the fact that Extend is extremely intuitive and flexible using the web UI. I can spin up and spin down new temporary credit cards whenever I need. It makes it easy to silo each supplier to their own virtual credit card number. Also, I can see which employee of mine is making payments. The initial setup was extremely seamless.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

I think the fact that each employee needs its own account with Extend is a bit of a hurdle. But, otherwise, just having them create account solves all the issue.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extend helps me segregate suppliers and gives employees credit line access without using the main credit card. I also see who initiates which payment, making managing finances easier.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

Nothing really, I think the app and serviceis pretty good

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had an issue where the AMEX card was not being accepted by Square. Extend nor AMEX were able to resolve the issue, they both blame the other provider. It turns out it just because I couldn't use the card the same day i received it. The payment went through the following day.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Extend?**

Extend has been very helpful for processing credit card payments in our company. Setting up virtual credit cards for different companies and multiple employees has been easy and timely, with streamlined controls and a user-friendly interface.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

Reporting - you need to invest time to learn the ins and outs of the system to make it work best for you. It is not user friendly right off the bat - it will take time and effort.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extend has helped our company extend virtual credit cards to employees who previously couldn't make their own purchases, which has eased the burden from employees who were handling purchases for multiple departments when that should not have been their responsibility.

I don't have to worry about hitting limits.

Having a physical card option would be nice.

I wish there was a phone number to call for support. It also doesnt integrate well with Quickbooks.

It makes setting up temporary virtual cards quickly for my freelance employees and also I like that I can reactivate it later on if extra charges are necessary.

  ### 37. Powerful Control and Visibility for Company Card Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Extend?**

What I like best about Extend is the level of control and visibility it provides when managing company cards. It makes it easy to issue cards quickly, set limits, and monitor transactions in real time.

The most helpful aspect of Extend is how it simplifies expense management while maintaining strong security and accountability. The ability to create virtual cards for specific purchases helps reduce risk and keeps spending organized.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

One downside of using Extend is that some workflows can feel a bit manual, especially when tracking transactions or reconciling multiple purchases. At times, it can take extra steps to locate specific card activity or update transaction details.

It would be helpful if navigation and reporting features were more streamlined to make day-to-day card management faster and more intuitive.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extend helps solve the challenge of managing and controlling company spending in a secure, efficient way. It lets us quickly issue virtual cards for specific purchases, set clear spending limits, and monitor transactions in real time.

For me, this makes the payment process faster and more organized. It cuts down on back-and-forth communication and helps ensure expenses are properly tracked and stay compliant with company policies.

  ### 42. Outdated, difficult if compromised or to integrate

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Extend?**

Finally, after over a year, we were able to get our Amex Rewards linked to our Amazon. We have over $38K in rewards available. Our rep took the time to come out to our office to get it working because no one else was helping.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

Amex doesn't understand how virtual cards work. Each time a virtual card is compromised and has to be closed, they insist on closing the main gold card as well. The whole idea with the virtual card is that you are not using the Gold Card therefore protecting it. Capital One understands this and only shuts down the virtual card. No waiting for a new physical card to be issued. No having to update payment methods. And there is still the issue with this particular platform of Amex not staying connected to QuickBooks Online. Amex is outdated and archaic. They need to get with the times. And people pay an annual fee for this lousy service. Unbelievable.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The only problem solved was getting our rewards linked to Amazon. We still have issues with integrating with QBO and I have been told that is not an Extend issue but to call the Amex @ work support, it isn't their issue either. It is a big waste of time.

**Official Response from Cheyenne Herron:**

> I'm so sorry to hear you've had a frustrating experience—while our support team can't handle issues on the American Express side, we can certainly help you with your Quickbooks integration! The Extend support team is always ready to assist customers of our bank partners on issues like this, just submit a ticket here and we'll get right back to you: https://www.paywithextend.com/support-request

  ### 43. Effortless Virtual Card Management for our Remote Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dawn R. | Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Extend?**

Extend has made managing online payments and subscriptions so much easier for our remote team. I love how quickly we can issue virtual cards for team members or one-off transactions without going through lengthy approval chains. The controls are clear, the interface is intuitive, and it keeps our accounting organized — every transaction is easy to track and categorize. It’s also been a big help in managing spending limits and improving accountability across departments.

**What do you dislike about Extend?**

Nothing major so far, overall it’s been smooth, reliable, and exactly what we needed.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extend helps us manage payments and subscriptions across our remote team without the hassle of sharing a single corporate card. We can instantly issue virtual cards for specific purposes — like SaaS tools, ad campaigns, or one-time vendor payments — with clear spending limits and tracking.

This has made our finance process far more organized and secure. We no longer worry about unauthorized charges or chasing receipts. Each transaction is tied to a team member or department, making reconciliation faster and improving overall budget visibility.

In short, Extend gives us better control, flexibility, and transparency over company spending — which has been a huge time-saver for our finance and operations teams.

Overall a good service to keep track of spending. I like the virtual card system that can create cards from one physical main account. I also like being able to create one time use cards and time based cards.

The time one of our virtual cards was used fraudulently and the extend team and the american express team were telling us the main physical card along with all virtual cards need to be replaced. The american express team had no idea how extend worked

I already mentioned that in the first question.

**What problems is Extend solving and how is that benefiting you?**
