The first contact with Expivi was very good, they helped with the initial setup and are genuinely interested in your work/product. The reason we chose for Expivi was both because of the positive interactions, them being located in the Netherlands but also because of the large amount of customisation possible and high quality of the 3D models within the configurator itself. We haven't experienced any errors or lag, even when multiple people are working with the configurator or when we have a large amount of options within the configurator. You have to be somewhat tech-savvy or have the budget to hire someone who is (of course Expivi can help with this too), to be able to set everything up. For our specific wishes on our website, it was a bit of a challenge to get every element styled and responsive, though that might also be an issue on the side of our website or our design itself. A way of styling the configurator within the Expivi platform could be a nice addition in the future to save on time and costs when you implement it on your website. We've been in talks with Expivi since late 2020 and the process has been painful. Expivi told us that they could help create renderings for our products, as part of our contract. The intention of developing a 3D configurator was to eliminate the need for individual product renderings. However, we quickly learned that this would not be the case. We ended up having to pay our freelance 3D renderer even more for additional renderings, and each time we thought we were closer to the finish line - another issue would pop up with our 3D files. They outsource their 3D work and the project managers seem to be passionless and apathetic about their work. So far, our project has been passed off twice to different PMs and we are feeling completely lost. No one can understand our industry-related terminology and it shows. We are a small business of about 9 people and we wanted a seamless, easy experience with Expivi, and instead, we have suffered through a drawn-out, ambiguous one. The rendering work from Expivi's team has been sloppy and haphazard: components have gaps between them and they're unrealistically positioned in relation to one another.
