"Started off on the wrong foot, but customer service saved the day!"

What do you like best about Expensify?

We were struggling with getting the right help for our needs with our account. I was brand new to the tool and didn't quite understand what I was working with. My account rep at the time didn't have the knowledge to assist me, so it fell stagnant. When I left a review here on G2, I was followed up with and prompted to meet with a new account manager. The meeting went SO well and I feel so much more confident with Expensify. And I had all my integration questions answered after months of trying. I'm excited to make Expensify work for us now, rather than dread logging in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Expensify?

I've learned that if your account rep isn't working out for you, you CAN request a new person. The knowledge base I needed for my account wasn't in line with my account rep at the time, so it would've been handy to know that I can request a new one. Other than that, I don't think there's much to improve! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Catherine DeVore of Expensify

Thanks for the feedback. The NetSuite sync issues and customer service frustrations you've described are not the experience we want you to have. We'd like to look into this directly. Please reach out at c.devore@expensify.com so we can help get things working the way they should.

"Expensify Makes Expense Management Fast and Effortless"
5/5
What do you like best about Expensify?

What I like best about Expensify is how simple and fast it makes expense management. Being able to snap a receipt, have it automatically scanned, and submit an expense in just a few clicks saves a lot of time and removes most of the manual work from the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Expensify?

What I dislike most about Expensify is that receipt scanning doesn’t always capture all details correctly, which sometimes requires manual corrections. I’d also like to see more advanced reporting and filtering options, as finding specific older expenses can occasionally take more effort than expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Lindsey Peckham of Expensify

Hi Moegamat, thanks so much for your review and feedback! We're glad to hear you're liking Expensify. While New Expensify offers quite advanced filtering options, I'd love to hear which additional filters you are looking for. If you're open to it, please email me at lindsey@expensify.com with any suggestions there. Thanks again!

"Promising Features, Frustrating Execution"

What do you like best about Expensify?

The pricing was competitive compared to other expense management platforms we evaluated, and the team was consistently responsive when issues were raised. Unfortunately, responsiveness did not translate into resolution, but I did appreciate that our account manger and sales team were engaged through the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Expensify?

We purchased Expensify to help manage corporate card expenses across our organization. Unfortunately, after five months, we were never able to get the platform working reliably enough to use it for our reporting process.

The biggest issues were card connections that repeatedly disconnected, reporting workflows that created individual reports for transactions instead of consolidated reports, and missing transactions that appeared sporadically across different cards. These weren't one-time issues—they persisted through multiple months and multiple rounds of troubleshooting.

Support was also disappointing. Most interactions resulted in another ticket being submitted, while their sales team continued encouraging us to connect additional accounts despite the ongoing problems. We frequently found ourselves troubleshooting the platform rather than actually using it.

After months of unresolved issues, we decided to cancel the service. We were encouraged to continue testing the platform and offered additional trial periods while the issues were investigated. However, when we ultimately moved forward with cancellation, we discovered we were locked into a 12-month commitment and would be required to continue paying despite the fact that the service had never functioned reliably for our needs.

Software issues happen, and I understand that no platform is perfect. My frustration comes from spending five months trying to make the product work, never reaching a usable solution, and still being obligated to pay for the remainder of the contract.

I genuinely wanted Expensify to succeed for our organization, but our experience was defined by unresolved technical issues, ineffective support, and a disappointing cancellation process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Lindsey Peckham of Expensify

Hi Geoff, I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Were you able to cancel your subscription in the end? If there's anything we can do to help turn your experience around, please feel free to email me at lindsey@expensify.com.

"Expense reporting without the friction"
5/5
What do you like best about Expensify?

Expensify is built for speed and simplicity. SmartScan is the biggest win. Snap a receipt and it pulls in the details accurately enough that you trust it and keep using it. The mobile app is intuitive, submitting reports takes minutes, and there is almost no learning curve. It removes the friction that usually comes with expense reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Expensify?

There are occasional edge cases where SmartScan needs a quick manual fix, especially with less standard receipts. Reporting and customization can feel a bit limited if you are trying to do more complex finance workflows. It is not built to be overly customizable, which is fine, but worth noting depending on your needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nick Tooker of Expensify

Thanks for the review, Cliff! We love that you are enjoying frictionless expense reporting.

"Effortless Expense Management with Expensify"
5/5
What do you like best about Expensify?

I really appreciate the ease of use with Expensify. It makes managing my receipts much easier compared to snapping pictures and emailing them around to different people. Everything gets submitted in one app; I just snap a picture, and it sends the information to the right person. This process is smooth and efficient, and the ability to handle everything within the app helps keep my workflow uninterrupted. It's handy that I can quickly open the app on my phone, snap a receipt, and have it handled instantly, improving my workflow significantly. Additionally, I like that the app gives me reminders if I forget to submit a receipt, which has helped improve our whole accounting process. Switching to Expensify has made getting things done much faster for both me and our accounting department. Initially, setting it up was straightforward, and the tutorials made learning the system quite simple. Overall, the app has really helped streamline our expense tracking, and I'm happy with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Expensify?

I don’t dislike anything at all—I love the app, and I have no complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ryan Schaffer of Expensify

Thanks for the great review Alicia. We appreciate your business!

"Expensify: Unmatched Value with Smart AI Receipt Scanning"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Expensify?

They are the only app/s software on the market that does exactly what they do. Clean integrations with credit cards, they now have AI tools that help Auto categorize your your receipts. You have the ability to email, and upload receipts which are then smart scanned in. Over time, expensify has gotten more accurate in the user experience easier. For the price, no one can match it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Expensify?

I used to be anti expensify because the president got all political. However, every time they've earned back my trust by consistently improving their product. I've tried Zoho in about five other expense report softwares and I always come back to expensify Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Press Expensify of Expensify

Thanks for your review, David! Really glad to hear the AI categorization and card integrations have been hitting the mark. That means a lot to us.

"Expensify Is Simple, Straightforward, and Easy to Navigate"
5/5
What do you like best about Expensify?

It was really simple to use. Compared to the older software we used, which required a VPN to access, Expensify is much more straightforward and easy to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Expensify?

Accessing the AI chatbot can be hard to find for someone new. Also, its picture is a little freaky. On top of that, the AI chatbot feels slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Daniel Vidal of Expensify

Hey Hamza, thanks for the review! We're making some great updates to the chatbot so be on the lookout for those!

"A smarter way to handle work travel expenses!"
5/5
What do you like best about Expensify?

I'm someone who is constantly on the move for work for attending conferences and client locations. So i use expensify very frequently. The smartscan feature is hands down my favorite. I can take a quick photo of a receipt while i'm heading out of a restaurant or airport gate and expensify takes care of the rest. what gets me even more excited is how effortless the whole process is. No spreadsheets, no hunting for lost receipts and no end of month stress. My report practically build themselves and approvals move fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Expensify?

no dislikes, just pure problem solver the platform is for me. Just love it every time i use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Catherine DeVore of Expensify

"A Must-Have Tool for Agency Leaders and Mobile Professionals"
5/5
What do you like best about Expensify?

Expensify is an incredibly seamless and robust platform that has fundamentally streamlined how I handle expenses, both for myself and my team. As someone who frequently travels for enterprise client discovery sessions, personal expense reporting used to be a tedious administrative chore. With Expensify, capturing receipts and logging travel expenses on the go is completely frictionless, allowing me to stay focused on client strategy instead of paperwork.

Equally impressive is how well it functions for team management. Overseeing my team's spend is highly intuitive. The approval workflows provide clear visibility and control without being bogged down by clunky interfaces or manual spreadsheets. It bridges the gap perfectly—delivering an effortless experience for the individual user while providing the robust oversight necessary for managing agency operations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Expensify?

While the day-to-day user experience is excellent, scaling the platform within a highly complex enterprise ecosystem can sometimes reveal friction points. For example, syncing Expensify with deeply customized legacy ERP systems occasionally requires more technical heavy lifting and troubleshooting than you might expect from an otherwise agile tool.

Furthermore, the customer support model can be a bottleneck at times. Their heavy reliance on chat-based or community-driven support isn't always ideal for fast-paced agency operations. When dealing with a complex approval routing issue or an urgent integration question for the team, lacking a direct line to a dedicated account manager or immediate technical support can slow down our internal workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ryan Schaffer of Expensify

Thanks for the review, Sean. Your company _should_ have an account manager you can contact to help with any issues that arise. Can you message me on LinkedIn and I will investigate and make sure your account manager is aware of any issue you may be experiencing?

"Simple App That Auto-Uploads Receipts for Effortless Reporting"
5/5
What do you like best about Expensify?

I love the simplicity of the app! I love that it auto uploads the receipts so that I do not have to constantly keep track of a million receipts and that it automatically houses them within the app for reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Expensify?

The only thing I don't love is sometimes it's not always clear about whether or not the expense has been actually submitted or not. It will still show as a "draft" until it is automatically uploaded later. So that part can be confusing when you first start using the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Press Expensify of Expensify

Hey Megan, thank you for the kind words! So glad the automatic receipt uploads are saving you from the paper receipt chaos, that's the dream! That's also really helpful feedback on the draft status confusion; I'll make sure to pass that along to the team. Thanks again! Catherine
