We had tried Concur first, but the implementation as well as training were atrocious, so we bailed and moved to Expensify. What a refreshing difference! **What do you dislike about Expensify?** It does not integrate well with Quickbooks. Every week we have to ask our IT team to reboot everything, which means that everyone has to log out of Quickbooks, which is a real pain. Also, whenever there is an update, all of our customizations disappear and we have to manually spend hours reentering all of our GL numbers and their descriptions. We are looking for another solution. **What problems is Expensify solving and how is that benefiting you?** It was taking us a TON of time tracking down AMX receipts for our 28 cardholders and then entering the information into Quickbooks. Now the cardmembers upload their receipts to Expensify, which uploads the financial information into Quickbooks. We are saving literally DAYS of work each month! And our cardholders love the ease of submitting and coding AMX receipts. The workflows weren't super efficient and there wasn't a place to have the policies listed for easy access. It gets the job done reasonable well, and so when my job started using it as an expense reimbursement tool, I was fine with switching. **What do you dislike about Expensify?** I don't like the UX flow for creating reports, I get confused using it often. I feel that there is too much context switching in the UI between making an expense/attaching a receipt, and then adding it to a report and submitting it. **What problems is Expensify solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have used it in my company for expense reporting - this has been the primary use case for Expensify at my company, and I think the benefits are clear in that it helps solve expense reporting. ### 31. But this is the only part of the app that saves time. The software is inherently flawed. **What do you dislike about Expensify?** Somehow linked to my venmo so it’s a mess. SmartScan is terrible. It takes hours, or days. I can enter things manually faster. If they can’t scan something faster than I can enter the info, they should just give up, put up a message that says, “Why don’t you just tell me what the amount was?”. The other day I couldn’t submit a report because an image was still scanning. When you complete a report you have to first fill out all the information about the expense and (instead of being able to click submit and just be done) you need to go into a separate tab to first create a report, then attach the expense information, and then submit it in order for it to get processed and that particular step is not clear so if you do not know that you have to separately submit the report for reimbursement it shows that the report is complete but that is not an indication that you are done and you still need to take the extra steps. I also don't like that it takes time from the time that you charge something to your card for the information to actually appear as an expense on your Expensify ledger. It would have been better if the expenses were to appear immediately or at least on that same day. **What problems is Expensify solving and how is that benefiting you?** The benefit is that it organizes and helps you keep track of your business spending and submit to accounting for reimbursement ### 49. I like that it's intuitive, has smart scan technology, and makes the submission process easy. I also like that I can easily see past expenses and go through my history. I like the mobile app too! So easy and quick to submit an expense from my phone when I'm on the go. **What do you dislike about Expensify?** Ah, there are some down-sides. One, the smart scan technology is not super reliable. Two, I set up my expenses to auto-submit on a certain day of the week, and I had an impossible time trying to figure out how to turn that feature off. Three, I wish that there was a way to scan a receipt and figure out if it matches something that has already been submitted. **Recommendations to others considering Expensify:** I would say that if your company is tired of using spreadsheets, use Expensify.
