I like how Expensify allows me to take a picture of a receipt, upload a picture, or forward a receipt email, which automatically creates the expense and fills in most of the details. Forwarding a receipt email for things like car rentals, airline tickets, and hotel stays is great. Once I do that, I don't have to think about it again at the end of the month. I always snap a photo or forward an email receipt as soon as I get it. I also appreciate how it automatically picks up my work Uber receipts. The initial setup was very easy. The processing of receipts uploaded in the web app should be prioritized, since those users are actively trying to finish a task in real time, while email forwards and receipt photos could be deferred since they are less likely to be time critical. One aspect I find less helpful about Expensify is that some of its advanced features, such as custom reporting and certain integrations, are only available with higher-tier plans. Additionally, the receipt scanning feature sometimes misinterprets information, which means I have to correct it manually. Before using it, keeping receipts, categorizing expenses, and preparing reports was time-consuming and prone to errors. With Expensify, our team can quickly capture receipts, automatically categorize transactions, and submit expense reports with minimal effort. This has saved a lot of administrative time, improved accuracy, and given our finance team better visibility into spending, making the entire expense management process much smoother.
