"Powerful Customization but Needs Better Support"
What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

I really enjoy the rules engine in Sapio LIMS. It's very accessible and allows for a lot of detailed configuration without needing to code, which is something that doesn't exist in other LIMS systems. It helps with granularity and makes the templates I create for experiments configurable and flexible. I find it allows for customization that is almost infinite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

I find the rules engine is difficult to conquer, and there's not as much support for Sapio LIMS as I would like. There's some support through being able to contact the Sapio architects and some portal videos, but compared to other software I've used, which offered courses for certification, Sapio LIMS lacks these resources, aside from a boot camp they offer once or twice a year. Also, the initial setup of LIMS for my lab is quite difficult, though I do have help from our solutions architect and instructional videos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Yuri de Lugt of Sapio LIMS

Thank you, Brett, for your detailed and constructive feedback. We’re pleased the rules engine and no-code configurability are enabling granular, flexible experiment templates. We acknowledge that mastering the rules engine and initial system setup can be a challenge. We are expanding structured training, certification-style content, and community resources to strengthen enablement and ongoing support. Your insights directly inform these efforts.

"Streamlined Data Flow but Steep Learning Curve"
What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

I like the capability of Sapio LIMS to integrate process batch recording, instrument data, process analytical data flow, database, and analytical tools. It greatly reduces time for lab operators to wrap up data manually into different data tables and graphs, to urge analytical results and enter into batch record, or to generalize and calculate results to be presented or reported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

I'd say the ease of building templates and I/O pipelines (especially with webhook). These seem to need a good learning curve for developers. Hope AI can help this. Build documentation, course videos, and foster community of Sapio should help more. It's still in progress, and a long progress. We currently migrate template structure from legacy Excel template which took over 6 months already but still not any integration with analytical sample yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Yuri de Lugt of Sapio LIMS

Thank you, Guang, for your comprehensive feedback. We are excited to learn that Sapio LIMS saves time and automates data flow while reducing errors. We’re glad the integration of batch recording, instrument data, analytics, and database workflows is reducing manual data consolidation and accelerating reporting.

We recognize that building templates and I/O pipelines, especially webhook-based integrations, requires a learning curve. We are investing in enhanced training and documentation, AI-assisted configuration support, structured training content, and community development to streamline this process. Your experience is highly valuable to us.

"Configurable LIMs"
What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

I like the easy-to-use queues and the ability to create and configure assays with Sapio LIMS. The feature of having multiple environments like validation, development, and production is beneficial. I appreciate the ability to connect with other apps and vendors, along with the API setup and user configuration. Reviewing cases with production support and customizing screen layouts are aspects that stand out. It's configurable and quicker to launch assays, which influenced our switch from SCC Soft Lab Systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

I find the system slow, especially when running queries. It's tough to handle large data in the front end application. Also, the reporting module should be separated from the actual LIMS for better performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Yuri de Lugt of Sapio LIMS

Thank you, Anu, for your detailed feedback. We’re pleased that queues, assay configurability, multi-environment support, API connectivity, and user configuration are delivering operational value, especially in your transition from SCC Soft Lab Systems. Regarding performance and reporting architecture, we recognize the importance of handling large datasets efficiently and are continuously improving front-end responsiveness and system optimization. Your insights are greatly appreciated.

"Rich Functionality, Stellar Support"
What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

I like the rich functionality that Sapio LIMS offers as well as the excellent customer service and training. The organized hierarchical data model is easy to understand and makes selecting and observing data within the system much simpler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

I haven't had much experience outside of training, so I can't really answer this unless I work with it some more. Sometimes the UX could be cleaner and a bit more intuitive. There are 'hidden' hot keys or like double click interactions that are documented somewhere but could be easily forgotten. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Yuri de Lugt of Sapio LIMS

Thank you, Harin, for recognizing the rich functionality, hierarchical data model, and customer support. We’re glad the structure supports clear data visibility and navigation. Your UX observations, including discoverability of shortcuts and interactions, are valuable. We are actively refining interface clarity, training and documentation to make advanced features more intuitive and easier to retain over time.

What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

I like that Sapio LIMS is interactive, accessible, and easily correctable. The container shelves feature is something I appreciate as well. I also find the ease of tracking and having more access compared to our previous software, Nautilus LIMS, to be a significant advantage. Setting up Sapio LIMS was easy too. I think Sapio LIMS could be more interactive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Thank you, Jon, for your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that accessibility, sample tracking, pull requests, container shelves, and overall usability have improved your experience compared to Nautilus LIMS. Ease of setup and data correction are areas we prioritize. We value that interactivity suggestion and continue enhancing UX responsiveness and engagement features to further elevate the user experience.
