## About Exclaimer
Exclaimer is an email signature management platform designed to help organizations maintain consistent, compliant, and commercially effective email signatures across all communications. This solution is particularly beneficial for IT teams, marketing departments, and HR and legal professionals, as it centralizes control over email signatures, ensuring that company-wide communications remain on-brand and compliant without requiring ongoing administrative effort. As organizations grow, managing email signatures manually can become increasingly challenging. Exclaimer addresses this issue by integrating directly with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and on-premises Microsoft Exchange. The platform automatically syncs with the organization's directory, ensuring that email signatures are updated seamlessly when employees join, leave, or change roles. This automation eliminates the need for manual updates, significantly reducing inconsistencies across the organization. Signatures are applied server-side via Microsoft Azure before emails are sent, which means users do not need to take any action. Additionally, an optional Outlook Add-In allows employees to view their email signature while composing messages, without altering how signatures are applied. Exclaimer offers role-based access controls (RBAC), enabling IT departments to delegate management of campaigns and banners to other departments, such as marketing or HR, while retaining control over the core signature template. This functionality minimizes support requests and reduces dependency on a central team for every update. Employees can also update their personal details, including contact information and working hours, through a self-service portal, further streamlining the process and reducing the burden on IT. For marketing teams, Exclaimer transforms every email into a potential marketing touchpoint. Users can create and manage signature campaigns that feature rotating banners and tailored messages for different employee groups, utilizing attributes pulled from the organization's CRM or directory. Built-in analytics provide insights into campaign performance at the email signature level, facilitating A/B testing of creative elements and calls to action. Integration with popular CRM platforms, such as Salesforce and HubSpot, allows engagement data to be incorporated into the organization's broader reporting framework. Moreover, Exclaimer ensures automated compliance by applying legal disclaimers and compliance statements according to predefined rules. This guarantees that every outbound email meets legal requirements, regardless of the sender's device or personal settings, thereby aligning legal and IT departments without the need for manual oversight. Beyond email signatures, Exclaimer also manages video meeting backgrounds for Microsoft Teams and Zoom, applying on-brand visuals to video calls from the same platform. With over 20 years of experience in email signature management, Exclaimer is trusted by more than 80,000 organizations across 150+ countries, offering governance controls, compliance tooling, and a robust support model that caters to both small teams and large enterprises.

## Exclaimer Reviews
 ### 1. Be prepared for quite horrible customer support and service!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Imran K. | Head of Global Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

The product itself is fine. Its not the most cutting edge in terms of the editor or its usability, the user interface is very outdated and clunky - but its enough to get a formal/standard email signature applied. Anything more advanced, the system becomes very cumbersome to work with.

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

Exclaimer's finance team is utterly useless and their finance team members have no clue as to when payments are made etc. When you write back to them and complain about the misinformation, they hide behind their 'portal' and ask you to raise tickets for issues that a normal finance team should be able to simply resolve. Their team are truly arrogant and unprofessional.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a tool to apply a standardized signature, its fine at best. As vendors who support their customers, they are garbage.

**Official Response from Chloe Lea:**

> Hi Imran, we’re really sorry to hear you’ve had an issue with our service at Exclaimer — this doesn't align with the experience we aim to deliver. We’ve passed your feedback to a Specialist in our team who’ll look into it and get in touch soon to help resolve things. Thanks again for bringing it to our attention.

 ### 2. Contracts, poor support, inadequate product

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben M. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

The thing I like best about Exclaimer is the end of the contract

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

Their support organization is the worst ever. They use email support and take an exceedingly long time to reply. By long, a common message send and receive is typically measured in days, so by the time you get the response, you have to reengage what you were working on as it is not fresh and present.
The other issue they have is creating signatures that work consistently for Windows vs Mac/iOS recipients. Formatting gets out of whack and the signatures look AWFUL.
There are other better products/services out there. You should get Exclaimer only if you like getting little service or bad support and like being locked in to highwater mark contracts (if you increase the user count and then need to reduce it later, you cannot. Increasing is easy, decreasing is forbidden until renewal time).

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Their intent was to enable standardized signatures for all employees regardless of the device sending the email. They have failed at delivering this with quality, uniform signatures across all sending/receiving email platforms.

**Official Response from Sally Bellis:**

> Hi Ben,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience — this isn’t the level of service we aim to provide. Our Customer Support team will be reaching out to you today to offer further assistance.

We truly value your feedback and appreciate the chance to better support you.

 ### 3. bad service, bad product

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kole M. | RevOps Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

apart from the free trial, everything about the experience was awful.

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

the system is not user friendly or intuitive at all. menu options are hard to find, integration with google workspace is clunky. support and sales are both slow to respond and don't offer any valuable support. the system doesn't integrate with other business enablement tools. and if you select a monthly subscription but run into an error and have to resubmit payment details for some reason, their checkout page will automatically reset to an annual subscription, trapping you in a contract that you have no intent or desire to use.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it did not work as desired

**Official Response from Sally Bellis:**

> Hi Kole,

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that your experience with Exclaimer hasn’t been positive. I’ve passed your comments on to our team so we can review the issues you’ve highlighted, particularly around usability, integration, and support response times.

If you're open to it, we’d love to understand more about the challenges you faced, especially with the subscription process and Google Workspace integration, so we can work toward a resolution. Please feel free to reach out to our support and we’d be happy to assist further.

We appreciate your time and insights and would love the opportunity to improve your experience.

 ### 4. Extremely behind in 2024

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua W. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

The ability to modify many email addresses

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

When going from designing a footer to testing all kinds of oddities appear. Design features feel extremely limited i.e. no radius options, background images, custom css etc. Really struggled to provide anything that looked professional.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Exclamier acts as a central point for email signatures.

**Official Response from Sally Bellis:**

> Hi Josh,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience with Exclaimer hasn’t met your expectations.

To address the challenges you’re facing with testing and design, we encourage you to reach out to our support team. They’re here to help and can assist with troubleshooting or exploring solutions tailored to your requirements.

 ### 5. The benefits do not outweigh the hassles

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Environmental Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

When it works, it is a convenient way to add signatures to company emails. Being able to centrally-manage signatures is a big benefit to marketing and IT.

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

Exclaimer includes zero onboarding or training, so you are on your own for setup, which makes integration very difficult. The support documentation is lacking, so it's a lot of trial and error. The only support option available is a chatbot that sometimes functions, but sometimes is unavailable. Through several steps in the bot you can eventually request a live chat or a callback. The callback does not work, I have never received a call that I can identify or a voicemail message, so that is not really an option. The chat will connect you to someone, but the chat gets disconnected often and you have to start the whole process over from scratch to get back into the agent chat to resume your conversation. Time consuming and annoying. The chat agent will send emails as well, but you can't reply to them and they contain no links back to the chat, so they are just informational. Exclaimer will assign you a support person if you complain enough, but they will never respond to any emails, so again, not really an option.

Some of the major features that they sold us on didn't actually work in practice, which was also disappointing.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centrally managing email signatures to present a consistent brand image.

**Official Response from Sally Bellis:**

> Hi,

Thanks for sharing your experience with Exclaimer. We're sorry to hear about the frustrating challenges you've encountered. We'd love to hear more about your specific issues and how we might be able to assist you further. Could you please email us with additional details at help@exclaimer.com?

 ### 6. NOT* A brilliant piece of software (update)

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

Exclaimer is easy to maintain and integrates with Google for easy updates of user details. The implementation is straight forward and you can sync updated details automatically or when you need to.

Customer support has been brilliant and quick to reply to any issues, and it's not a piece of software you need to constantly return to once it's setup. but the frequency of use and the amount of times you can update things is totally under your control.

***UPDATE***

From the review above I needed to update it as it was unfair to others to leave it after the support issues we have been having.

We are at the moment talking to support regarding an issue sending every email from Google Workspace. Exclaimer has been working fine since it was installed, but on Thursday (it's Monday today) we had issues sending emails. The emails are getting blocked by Exclaimer as the error states below.

Recipient details
helpdesk@support.exclaimer.com
19 Feb 2024, 08:38:19
1 seconds
Bounced

Content compliance: Route to Exclaimer Cloud

Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the relay smtp.gseu.exclaimer.net [20.50.220.146]. The error that the other server returned was: 550 5.7.1 Access denied to my domain.com. Cancelled by Alpha (7bbd856f-7316-459c-a86f-2c5748993f4f,58ba8cb7-2a47-423d-934c-9ded6555f59b)

Having emailed support on Thursday expressing we cannot send any emails externally. we had a reply on Friday afternoon. They stated it was a configuration issue and asked us to check our settings and send screenshots. I did and they had already been checked before sending the email in.

We had no choice then to take the signature group out of our workspace so we could send emails once again. Today I was told that they wanted to remote into my station to look into this further ( even though the email message is getting blocked at Exclaimer's end) something they should be able to look into

For them to remote in I have to upgrade my subscription to the Pro version to allow them to look into this further, They cannot do anything else if we don't upgrade. We have decided if they cannot "fix" this we will not be upgrading and will cancel our plan and wait for a full refund.

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

The support system wants money to fix issues that I believe is down to Exclaimer and not us.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

having a standard email signature across the board, but is still catered for individuals and what information they want to be contained in the signature.

**Official Response from Sally Bellis:**

> Hi,

Thank you for updating your review and bringing this issue to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced regarding the recent email sending problem. We're glad to hear that our customer service team has been in touch with you and has worked to address the issue.

Please rest assured that your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are continuously striving to improve our services to better meet the needs of our users.

 ### 7. Easy to purchase, but the site is difficult to work with and support takes a long time to respond

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

Pre-sales support is responsive. Seemingly wide variety of integration options

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

Post-sales support is terrible. The site is tough to work with. I often have issues with the site showing updated changes to signature designs and photos.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Exclaimer allows us to design a signature. However, the site has issues updating designs and photos. Not a very smooth experience

**Official Response from Sarah Guilfoyle:**

> Thank you for leaving your review, i am sorry to hear of your experience and would like to try and resolve this as soon as possible for you. As we cannot see your information due to the anonymity of this review, please can you kindly get in touch with our team to help us rectify this for you? I have flagged this to our support and success teams to keep a look out for your message as a priority. We hope to turn this around for you very soon

 ### 8. Unreliable, reccomend you keep shopping around

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

When it works, it's nice to have managed signatures.

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

It will stop working without explanation. Understandable for software to do that sometimes, but afterwards they ignore tickets or "support" you with an hour long hold that just disconnects. Not a trustworthy company to do business with as they seemingly don't support their 2-bit software.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Less manually created emails.

**Official Response from Sally Bellis:**

> Hi,

We're genuinely sorry to hear about your experience, and we appreciate you sharing your feedback with us.

We understand you were having issues with your email signatures displaying, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. We understand this is now resolved, and the Outlook add-in was deployed successfully, allowing the signatures to be available for selection.

We would also like to apologise for the temporary malfunction of our Zendesk chat that day, causing a service issue. We value your business and are committed to improving our services. If there's anything specific we can do to address your concerns or assist you further, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

 ### 9. The single worst implementation/support experience I have ever had

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luke W. | Director of IT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

The software is neat. Getting signatures to dynamically populate with appropriate fields from our IDP is a great value add. It also includes a feedback system that is pretty solid.

Also cheap!

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

After implementation, we found that 40% of external emails were not being delivered successfully. I submitted a critical ticket to Exclaimer support, and it took them over 6 hours to respond (breach of the service agreement that has a 6 hour expectation in general, not to mention this was a critical ticket.)

They actually didn't respond at all until I called into them directly. I was then told by the agent I spoke with that I should send a test email to them, and they would get back to me.

They didn't, until I sent several more emails, escalated to include our sales rep, and called multiple times.

When they finally did get back to me (at 5pm on a Friday, after ignoring me all afternoon), all they asked me for was a message trace. I provided one, and they told me it was "convoluted" and to pull another one. Since it takes several hours for the trace to run, I wasn't able to get it to them until Monday morning. They then took over a day to review it (and multiple followup emails from me), just to point the finger at a different system.

Only after I looped in a support engineer from that other system did the Exclaimer support rep acknowledge that there could be a problem and provide documentation to help resolve the issue. At this point, the issue is still unresolved.

Further, my sales rep has been cc'd and directly asked about this issue throughout, and has not responded to me once.

Also, the signature editor is very clunky and has a steep learning curve for non-technical staff.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, email signatures were created and managed individually for each employee. It wasn't scalable. Exclaimer was supposed to let us dynamically generate signatures and solicit email feedback.

**Official Response from Sally Bellis:**

> Hello Luke,

We greatly appreciate you sharing your feedback with us. We want to extend our apologies for the difficulties you faced in your recent interaction with our implementation and support services. I am aware that our senior engineer is now in contact with you to help resolve this.

 ### 10. could be so much better

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

it's fine. It does the job and most of the time it serves the basic function. There aren't that many server-side email signature providers so it's fine i guess.

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

a lot. mainly just how much better it could be if they focused on functionality instead of marketing themselves. They keep rebranding and not adding new features. There are just some things that feel kind of stupid like how you can let users change their custom attributes, but you can't name them. They have to just know what "custom attribute 1" is. what's the point of that? And the fact that I can't duplicate a component in a signature? Like I have a button and want a second one with the same formatting I have to completely recreate it. Why?

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

centrally managing our company's email signatures.

**Official Response from Sally Bellis:**

> Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding Exclaimer. We truly value your insights and perspective on both the positive aspects. We apologize for any frustration you may have experienced.

We have taken note of your concerns about the balance between functionality and marketing focus. Additionally, we recognize the issue you've raised concerning custom attributes and the duplication of components in signatures. Your suggestions regarding user-friendly improvements such as renaming custom attributes and simplifying the process of duplicating signature components are well-received and highly logical.

We acknowledge the worth of your suggestions and have conveyed them to our product team. If you could kindly share your contact information, we would greatly appreciate it and will gladly initiate further discussions.

 ### 11. Terrible Experience, Caused issues in Office 365 environment

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

Nothing, my experience was terrible and I received no support

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

When I was testing Exclaimer, we had their team make our signatures for us. From there, everyone in the exclaimer test group was flagged as spam or unverified senders. Completely messed up the mail flow, many emails were flagged as spam and sent emails were getting picked up as spam or we got a bounce back a few days later.
I tried contacting support after removing myself from the test group. They were not willing to get on a call to troubleshoot the error caused by their solution. There were some emails back and forth but at a certain point I stopped hearing from them.
Spent hours trying to troubleshoot but with a lack of support on their end, we decided to ditch Exclaimer and go with a different solution.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Exclaimer isn't solving any problems, they are creating them. I do not recommend this product at all.

**Official Response from Sally Bellis:**

> Hi,

We apologize for the negative experience you had with Exclaimer. We take your feedback seriously and are currently looking into this.

 ### 12. Great product - horrible support

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andreas B. | Director of Finance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

The product works well with Microsoft 365.

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

Support is completely lacking. Phone, email, chat - you name it - to get a hold of someone who can actually help is virtually impossible.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Consistent email signatures across the company.

**Official Response from Sally Bellis:**

> Hi Andreas,

Sorry to hear you're unhappy. We understand that receiving reliable support is crucial, and we apologize for any inconvenience you may have encountered in this regard.

We will definitely look into this issue and take the necessary steps to address it. Our customers' satisfaction is our top priority, and we appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention.

 ### 13. Extremely Dated and Inflexible

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

Honestly I thought everything about the product was frustrating from setup to design to deployment.

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

Everything... The drag-and-drop editor is awful, and I would much much rather do one of the most annoying things in the world and custom code my own email signature. There are no global styles so any hyperlinks you add take on the style of whatever dated starter template you initially choose. Your signature has to be a bulky fixed width card because you can't do a percentage-based width on the container... Setup was awful and very confusing, hard to know what setup I needed and if it was working. The UI of the tool is from the 90's and they obviously don't care to create a smooth user experience. I would NEVER recommend this tool to anyone.

EDIT – Had to come back here and say that this product is so bad it will randomly just clear out your signature while you're working on it and you have to start over from scratch. Just lost about 30mins of work.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I just need a simple signature shared across my Google Workspace org and even this task has been a nightmare with this tool.

**Official Response from David Willis:**

> Hi there,

We wanted to provide you with an update following your review of our Google Workspace solution. Again, thank you for your honest feedback.

We have now updated and improved our Google Workspace solution to offer the same experience as our Microsoft 365 customers. This means a vastly improved UI, a better signature designer, and much more functionality when compared to the previous version you used.

We completely understand that your previous experience with Exclaimer could have been better. So, following the release of our updated solution, we wanted to offer you the chance to give us another try. We're sure you'll find this product much easier to use and that it provides a much better user experience.

 ### 14. Good software but due to the way it's implemented causes too many issues in the environment

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

It's very easy to setup signatures and templates and swap them out quickly. AD integration is awesome.

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

Not really a fault of Exclaimer itself but having to use email transport rules to make it work introduces issues with Outlook tasks and broken email attachments. They are relatively rare but at scale with larger companies becomes a big issue. Lots of corrupted pdfs and when the transport rules are disabled for testing these things work fine.

**Recommendations to others considering Exclaimer:**

Good product but I've not been able to resolve issues with broken attachments with help of support. Unfortunately, it will be a deal breaker. Not everyone has this issue but enough users do that we are going back to Outlook signatures. If this can be resolved would be a tremendous product to use. Support was great to work with and helpful but ultimately not able to resolve due to the way it has to be implemented.

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Only having to update user info in the AD account is a huge time saver to get your signature right. Being able to do so in transit from any device is very unique and helpful. Saves time having to setup new signatures on all devices.

**Official Response from David Willis:**

> Hi there,

Thank you for your honest feedback! We are so sorry to hear about your negative experience and the fact that you could not get our solution to work within your enviornment. Please know that we always strive to provide all of our customers with a fantastic product experience.

In order to try and solve the issues you've been having, we'd recommend using our client-side service deployment. By using our Outlook Add-in, you can push signatures to all users in Outlook and OWA from a single deployment without having to use server-side rules.

Here are a couple of links to give you some more info on our Add-in and how it works:

If you wish to give our solution another try, our support team will also do all they can to help get you up and running.

Again, we apologize for the negative experience you have had with Exclaimer and thank you for your feedback.

Best wishes,

 ### 15. I suggest resolving problems a bit faster

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Exclaimer?**

It is good that you have a chat where you can send screenshot for assistance and help. There is always someone answering.

**What do you dislike about Exclaimer?**

It took too long to resolve the signature and code problems. After 10 days our company decided to hire a private freelancer and unsubscribe.

**Recommendations to others considering Exclaimer:**

Would surely work if you have a simple signature with not many links

**What problems is Exclaimer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted a perfect and constant design.

**Official Response from David Willis:**

> Hi there,

We're sorry you had a negative experience with Exclaimer. We always try to provide the best service possible and we're sorry we fell short in this case.

Your feedback is very important to us and we will use it to improve what we offer customers in the future.

Kind regards,
