What do you like best about Windsurf?

I like the auto completion done by codeium. It is not perfect always but it can sometimes write the whole function based on our coding practice we are following Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windsurf?

Sometime it does incorrect auto completions and uses variables that doesn't exist and then we have to correct it manually. But overall performance is good Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Windsurf?

The complete as you type function. At times, it does provide wrong suggestions, but for a free tool - this does the job just fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windsurf?

For those learning a coding language, this can be challenging as Codeium provides multiple suggestions. Best to mention that there's a learning curve. For intermediate users onward, this is a breeze and a helpful assistant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Codeium Enterprise: a selfhosted solution that works great"
5/5
What do you like best about Windsurf?

Codeium is very easy to use and provides really helpful suggestions. Since it's all on premise, it's super fast, even as a remote worker, it's unoticeable.

I've tried Github copilot with ChatGPT open in a separate browser and I find that codeium works better and offer better suggestions, primarily since it's better integrating context from nearby files or opened tabs.

Since it's running on premise, we are not worried about having our IP leaked on to OpenAI's platform.

The customer support has been fantastic. They are very responsive and get things fixed pretty quickly. Codeium has been pretty stable on the server side, it's our deployment that's a little strange. Despite that, they still supported us.

For me, I use it everyday for getting suggested names. Giving good names to variables and functions is really hard, but very important for readability and maintanability of code and it's so nice at giving suggestions on that. The code suggestion is just bonus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windsurf?

Codeium, being an independent code completion tool lacks some integrations in to the IDE, though I don't fault them for that.

The IDEs need to make it easier for external LSPs to integrate nicely in their ecosystem.

Neovim, surprisingly, has the best integration of codeium from all the plugins I've tried, but that's not where most of my colleagures are.

The second best would be VS Code.

Without proper IDE integration, it always just feels like a constant battle between the IDE's native LSP and Codeium's suggestions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Windsurf?

Most useful is the Codeium vscode extension, which helps in completing the code, providing

refactoring suggestions, and snippet suggestions.

It reads your code and helps in writing better code and making good comments and messages to send to clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windsurf?

Sometimes it provides the wrong suggestion and may require more training on data similar to chatGPT.

Currently, it's unable to write code as explained in the comments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
