But not all users require such advanced functions on a regular bases. Once I got past the learning curve, I found it easy to use and quite intuitive. Doing document productions is easy and saves me time. Everlaw is excellent at keeping track of which documents have been produced and offers many options for handling productions to fit our needs. It also has plenty of checks to ensure things are done correctly. The initial setup was easy, and we were up and running quickly with a couple of trainings. Everlaw works great for most matters, and the time saved is worth the cost. **What do you dislike about Everlaw?** There's definitely a bit of a learning curve to get people up and running on the platform. All of these features allow me to streamline our processes and work more efficiently. **What do you dislike about Everlaw?** Alias fields should be editable; would like the ability to copy from one metadata field to another; would like the ability to search and replace within a field. Occasionally we get a mixture of native data and scanned data, and the scanned data needs fields populated to complete schedules. Being able to copy data and non-metadata fields quicker would be beneficial. There were some challenges we didn't anticipate and I felt that there was limited support in setting up our template how we needed it. If data is being uploaded from an external hard drive connected to your computer via USB port, it is recommended to use a USB 3.0 compatible device connected to a USB 3.0 port. Being able to select the fields I want to search on by simply clicking on the color-coded buttons is extremely user friendly. Furthermore, being able to directly access the searches that have been shared me through the "Shared with me" option is way easier than the similar function in Relativity. I also really appreciate how easy it is to assign searches to my own folder so I don't lose track of them. Customer support has been great as well, anytime I have had access issues a representative has resolved them almost immediately. **What do you dislike about Everlaw?** Even after sitting through an Everlaw training course, I am still very confused as to the difference between Assignments, Searches, Binders and Document Sets. The shared with me page is a little overwhelming with all of the different boxes. **What problems is Everlaw solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a third-party consultant we normally use the Relativity sites set up by the attorneys. This is actually the first time I have used Everlaw. From my standpoint, the problems that Everlaw solves relate to the ease in identifying and archiving searches and documents for later reference. On the search side, Everlaw does dynamically update search results as data changes, but in practice you may need to re-run or re-open a saved search to see the latest documents reflected in the results table. If you’re ever seeing behavior that looks inconsistent with that, our support team would be glad to look at a specific example with you. On sharing, Everlaw is intentionally designed so that items like searches, binders, and other objects are only visible to people they’ve been shared with, rather than automatically showing everyone everything by default. This helps keep homepages focused and avoids overwhelming case teams with work product that isn’t relevant to them. Uploading is easy, searching is easy. **What do you dislike about Everlaw?** I don't like how the data field meta data is managed. If you scan a documement it gives it an edit date of the scanned date. However, it could be a letter dated years prior. The date field works well for emails. But for things like correspondence (letters), memoranda or agreements it does not work so well. It would be ideal if you could use an OCR feature to pull the actual date of those documents into a field. **What problems is Everlaw solving and how is that benefiting you?** As mentioned the dates. We have put in a ticket that perhaps the actual date of the document could be pulled from the OCR. We have had counsel on the other side of our cases complain about the document dates being incorrect i.e. do not match what is on the letter as it is using the edited date or sometimes, the date it was scanned. ### 23. Lastly, its responsive and helpful customer support, which can be crucial during high-pressure litigation tasks. **What do you dislike about Everlaw?** I don't have the best time with production because of my lack of Everlaw knowledge, I know this process could be great, however I dislike that it taste bare minimum understanding to be able to utilize the platform decently well. You can't just throw someone in to learn, I feel that it would be really difficult for them to understand. Additionally, batch redaction does not always work. Persisent highlights ofen ID what it thinks is PII but they are not i.e. employee numbers are often mistaken for banking numbers so you cant use batch redact in that situation. Also, to make the production process painless, it's important to recognize the work done on the front end to set up the highlights, coding, presets, layouts, production protocol, etc. to set yourself up for success. **What problems is Everlaw solving and how is that benefiting you?** I currently do not have any pending problems with Everlaw. **Official Response from Miguel Allende:** > Thank you for taking the time to share your review. It also has a feature that turns PDFs into text, making it possible to search documents for key words. **What do you dislike about Everlaw?** While the software identifies duplicates, including near-duplicats, sometimes it leaves out documents that are actually duplicates from the batch.
