How could a male professor say he will close the door to the room "so we can get more privacy" to a female student who just told him she wants to talk about a sensitive issue? In fact, why would a male professor EVER close the door when he is alone in a room with a female student? The portrayal described in one of the EVERFI videos about sexual harassment seems so off the mark that one of my colleagues compared it to a Saturday Night Live spoof. There are not a lot of programs available for career and technical education classes, that is why I am very excited that I have found this one. They offer a wide range of content provided to Schools at no cost to the teacher. The content ranges from business education to science and math and covers health related topics as well. It provides a lot of life skills that might not be covered in a regular classroom otherwise. Aside from offering high-quality content for free, they also offer scholarship opportunities for students to complete the programs, and industry recognize certificates showing that a student has finished a particular program. Each program is interactive and pretty fun for the student. One thing that I found interesting was that last year they offered us the opportunity to have someone come to our classroom and talk about the program in person, so we did that and it was an amazing opportunity for our students to ask questions as well as learn more about the platform. One thing that I would change is to make the programs easier to navigate. There are certain programs that make a student stay on a screen for a specific amount of time, and for some students who read fast or already know the content it can become boring for them to just sit and wait. The courses are redundant and repetitive for college students who already know these things. I don't understand why they're being used in a college setting when universities already have rules in place to protect students. These courses won't stop someone crummy from doing a crummy thing. The baseline information provided is informative and straightforward, and the additional optional readings allow employees to gain a deeper understanding or clarify points of the presentation that they may take a particular interest in. If you navigate away from a training video, for example to look at another browser tab or document, the training will automatically pause and wait for your return. This makes it a little more difficult to breeze through the training, as many are likely to do over the course of a busy work day.

Like most software in this arena, it is relatively easy to "zone out" and go through the motions of clicking through the slides without absorbing much information, although Everfi does a good job of making viewers stay more or less engaged with the content. Everfi is easy to navigate and is user-friendly. One of the upsides to using Everfi is the ease of uploading multiple students through a .csv file. I like the way the modules are set up. They are broken up into small parts. I also like how I can view the progress of the students. I also like that I can reset their password. I like that students can retake the quiz if they don't do well. The topics are relevant and students can use the information they learn, and apply it to life. The students get bored of it. It would be great if there was less talking, and more interactive material. They love any type of game. I don't like the long survey that pops up when registering. I would not mind if it was a quick survey, but it is very long. Also, students often forget their login and password.
