Here at Applied Medical, we have expanded the breadth of automations provided by existing EtQ Modules in a manner that is easy to maintain, train to, expand while meeting our strict software development validation standards. It all feels like one Company, Applied Medical and EtQ. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** Exploring the avenues that allow for enhanced functionality tailored to our use cases requires patience, its an incremental approach that may lead to some frustration based on how well documented some techological concepts are ... but the answer will be forthcoming. The answer is there, and EtQ will find it. As with all software development, it is critical that the added business logic and software constructs be documented and maintained. Providing multi language functionality. We can easily create new documents, new views, new work flows. Also, it is providing best user authentication functionality with groups. It is providing easy way to customize access profile for rest/sap web services. We can create multiple localization files to view content in local language for logged users. We can check current logged user and make them logout by forcefully during critical time. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** It is not allowing to update closed document without routing to open phase using new REST/SAP web services. Sometime syncing base localization file in localization profile, it gives error that "It is already in use". During the view creation sometime when we drag and drop column it is gives error like column design name is not available, we have to work with EtQ support to clear cache and restart instance to resolve issue. **Recommendations to others considering Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance):** We have prepared custom web services using ETQ RESTFUL services to send data of client to ETQ. Using new web services we are managing 1000+ complaints and product of clients. EtQ is not a product that anyone can sign into and learn how to use the sytem. It must be taught to the person and even then alot of our internal employes find it very hard to use. The customer support is not quick or helpful. We currently have had our system down for a two weeks and we have had very little help from EtQ to get it back up. We have 1 support case open and 1 service case open and neither have been answered for a fatal issue where our entire system is down. **What problems is Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance) solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm not sure solve is the correct word I would use, but i'd use house. (Cross check) without a very manual process. - I use the training module daily, so I would really like for it to be improved. Most places like to cross check training for audit purposes/company compliance and right now the set settings out of the gate are not set up that way. Being allowed to design and customize everything to your liking in ETQ is an amazing and powerful tool to have. On top of that, the support provided by ETQ is also very reliable and responsive when any questions or assistance is required. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** I have no complaints with ETQ, as the platform provides many features. I would like to see improvements with the mobile app to be able to use it as a "kiosk" style. The website has an "anonymous" login, whereas the mobile (tablet/phone) does not. **Recommendations to others considering Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance):** For those who really want to own and create their own unique EQMS, ETQ is a a great tool that comes with solutions already out-of-the-box, as well as with great and responsive support. **What problems is Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance) solving and how is that benefiting you?** Since implementing new process flows that remove the need to pass around paper copies for approval, many team members start to see the value in creating and going electronic using ETQ's customizable workflows and forms. We can also track who is currently assigned through the workflow, which speeds up the time to close out a process. Once you become accustomed to the interface, using all the other applications is much easier. I also appreciate the ability to design the system the way your own team uses it whether it is in specific forms or creating and editing views. The out-of-the-box experience is good as you can use many of the applications without making changes. The initial set up is very good! **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** We need the ability to create our own reports that are more robust. Right now the Centralized Reports application is relatively useless as it only shows counts and cannot handle more sophisticated reports that you can develop in PowerBI. An easy way to pull data from the system would be better if there is no significant plan to upgrade the Central Reporting app. That way users can pull the data into PowerBI and create their own reports. **What problems is Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance) solving and how is that benefiting you?** Communication has been the primary issue for my company turning to ETQ. We are looking forward to using the software. All of the modules and my ability to change things when needed are a real benefit. We also like the ability to modify and change the system to meet our business needs. I am an Intermediate Developer and I have done a lot of creating and updating modules to make them work better for us. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** Nothing so far has caused us any large issues. The interface and formatting can be hard to see due to the formatting and the direct prints of the forms are pretty awful. I created an Office Integration for our NCR module so we could print the tags to label the discrepant materials. We have had multiple failures of the server for the same issue and this has caused some hard feelings in the plants. I have been unable to offer a solution yet and I have been very surprised by how often this has happened to us. We have filed multiple cases over this. **Recommendations to others considering Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance):** Make sure you spend time getting all your data ready and be able to move it over. Always put together a team to work this through. The largest issue we are solving is at the site level. All of our sites were part of purchases by the company and the systems were very fragmented. ETQ is letting us get everyone on the same software and systems. This should really drive efficiencies at the different plants and give everyone access to the quality records they need. Another benefit is that our managers can see the status of all the work flowing through the system in real time. We have four locations and this makes it much easier to see how the plants are performing. ### 16. The function that allows only document owners/admins to make changes makes it easy to control important documents. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** EtQ Reliance QMS has a very good out of the box solution for general use. However, customization does require some coding knowledge that a general user may not have that level of understanding. Fortunately, the EtQ support team is very knowledgeable and is typically able to help with that customization process. **What problems is Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance) solving and how is that benefiting you?** In the past, it was difficult to send out and track training for the numerous employees in our company. With the use of the Employee Training application, we can send out training to various diverse training/requirement groups. There are really a lot of things that are great about ETQ and its QMS. We have had auditors come in to inspect our organization specifically telling us how much they appreciated us having ETQ and how well the audit went because of the QMS. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** The benefits of ETQ definitely outweigh any negative aspect but want to be as fair in my review as I can be. When I first jumped onto the system it was hard to customize some processes due to scripting. But this issue was resolved as ETQ provided me with scripting training in a class setting. ETQ provided me with 1:1 training. ETQ has recorded trainings. Customer Support has been of great assistance. Their Implementation Consultants have been amazing with the help with scripting. The resources they threw at me to help with this issue was actually pretty amazing. I will also say that I was not happy with ETQ when they stopped producing hardcopy manuals for their system. I am old fashioned. They are of course available in their help center so this is not really a huge issue. There are some issues here and there that do appear. I'm in EtQ multiple times every single day. We adopted EtQ Reliance back in 2012 at RRD, and initially rolled out the Doc Control and CAPA modules for all locations at that time. As the CI Specialist for my location in West Bend, WI, I quickly began using additional modules to support our QMS (Customer Feedback, NCMR, SDS, Audits, Meetings, basically all of them). In the last four years I have also championed the promotion of EtQ to sites in my Commercial Print platform that RRD aquired more recently. Specifically, Calibration and Maintenance, NCMR, & CAPA. Even something as simple as the method for delivering RCA and CAPA. One site may be using the G8D document from EtQ, another may issue an offline form, and another may simply communicate through email alone. But we are One RRD, and things like this can all be managed in a standardized way. Commercial Print alone is the largest platform within RRD, made up of 37 manufacturing sites. Currently we are working with all CP sites to standardize QMS procedures and EtQ module utilization so that our clients get the best common experience from all our locations. It's still work in progress, but we're making significant headway with support from platform leadership.
