Availity works with hundreds of payers nationwide to give providers a one-stop-portal where they can check eligibility, submit claims, collect patient payments and track ERAs, and even sign up for EFT. Your Essentials account gets you access to all this and more, with one password. You can also update your provider profiles, manage quality-of-care paperwork, and get detailed reporting about your office’s standard HIPAA and other payer transactions. ## Essentials Reviews ### 1. Good but not so good **Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Jennifer F. | BILLING CONSULTANT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2021 **What do you like best about Essentials?** I like that you can review EOB's, when it works. **What do you dislike about Essentials?** There are too many issues to address here but I will start with how Availity advertises certain attributes but it does not apply to all insurances. The insurance companies know nothing about Availity, so they cannot help but availity refers you back to the insurance company for any difficulties. You cannot always find claims. You cannot always find payments. You used to be able to find out-of-state BCBS claims but that is nonexistent anymore. It says you can see the insurance cards but this does not apply to all insurance companies. It would be nice to have insurances speak to providers to find out the use of the system and whether or not it is difficult to use.
