Context menus cause the screens to blink intermitently. **Recommendations to others considering Esri ArcGIS:** Consider the type of tools you will use from ArcGIS desktop vs PRO. Pro will be the substitution for ArcGIS Desktop, and if you can start using it, migrating will be easier when Desktop is out. Not everything is available in PRO, but now is a good time to start thinking about it. **What problems is Esri ArcGIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Address updates, zonification updates. As such most people are familiar with the program. once you know what you are doing, presenting data because a breeze and it helps make whatever point you have even more impactful. **What do you dislike about Esri ArcGIS?** Not necessarily a dislike on ArcGIS but GIS as a whole. Unless you are actively using the service over a period of time, it becomes very easy to forget and lose all the training you've had. The program itself isn't very friendly to users who have used GIS and may have become rusty. Maybe if the program had more help options? **Recommendations to others considering Esri ArcGIS:** It's probably your best bet considering most colleges teach this. **What problems is Esri ArcGIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** As stated in my "likes" section, GIS is an amazing tool to emphasize map-based data. Something like a heat map and really sink home what you are trying to say. Charts and graphs quite don't have the oomph. ### 3. The first time I used this software 5 years ago for my statistics class during my PhD, it was a great tool to utilize the data I had from models and turn it into a vivid imagery of how the data was distributed globally. What I like most is that it is very easy to use. **What do you dislike about Esri ArcGIS?** I have had issues when I had large data sets but for that matter I have had issues with Matlab as well when I had large datasets. I will not hold it against esri. However, I do wish that the online help section was more useful. **Recommendations to others considering Esri ArcGIS:** If you are into GIS and/or if you handle large datasets to see how they are distributed on a global scale, ArcGIS is great **What problems is Esri ArcGIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** I often have to see the data distribution on a global scale and ArcGIS is a great help. Large datasets that are imported in excel can then easily used with ArcGIS for the purpose of plotting the data. ### 5. This is something that I believe all GIS professionals understand and love. In practice, location based data is on its own informative and provides relational possibilities, context and insight to data. **What do you dislike about Esri ArcGIS?** I would love to add more data / have greater context. Perhaps in the future there will be high definition base maps or data authorities that will manage / model to a level of detail that is consistent with reality. **Recommendations to others considering Esri ArcGIS:** ArcMap and Pro needs improvements to graphical and ease of drawing features. Yes, they are data tools - however much of the discussion of CAD vs ArcMap in the past defaults to CAD for design. Also there are o many extensions that allow for more versatility in my work. **What do you dislike about Esri ArcGIS?** The main problem I have is the price, it's easy for large crporations to afford enterprise licenses or individual licenses, but when some friend of mine are looking at getting it for projects like Civil Air Patrol, it is way to expensive. **What problems is Esri ArcGIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use ArcGIS to curate my data for another program called Signature Analyst which analyzes the spatial signature of geospatial item. No other software has the power to process my data that quickly and is able to keep the same level of consitancy. Also it is very easy to train new people on how to use ArcGIS for data prep. ### 10. I like that I don't need to use ArcOnline or consume credits to do my analyses. **What do you dislike about Esri ArcGIS?** The software is bulky and uses a lot of memory. If I need multiple maps open, the Arc documents take up a lot of space and slow down my computer. You can usually accomplish a goal in multiple ways with varying workflows. **What do you dislike about Esri ArcGIS?** Using large amounts of data in one map document can cause some serious performance issues, even when using a newer PC with high end hardware specs. My biggest gripe is when error messaging provides you with no real explanation of what when wrong. This often requires a deep dive into online forums to figure out what really occurred. **What problems is Esri ArcGIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** What locations to focus on in regards to fire mitigation at an electric utility. I love that this software is expertly created with built-in features and tools that bring an engineers vision to life. The software is capable of handling the creation of the simplest to the most complex network and bring together a wide array of data set.It also manages massive amounts of data in its built-in database and the user can access the data very easily which is a huge plus. **What do you dislike about Esri ArcGIS?** ArcGIS does not, from my personal experience, integrate very well with other design software compared to other gis software like quantum gis. Transferring or moving maps, networks and designs to other software like EPANET to analyse them further hydraulically can prove problematic especially to a user with little arcgis experience. **Recommendations to others considering Esri ArcGIS:** I would very highly recommend the use of this software. It's very reliable and trustworthy software that help me with a bunch of spatial data and non-spatial ones. It is very user-friendly that I can easily to get a hand from the built-in help. I also recommend their extensions, such as network analyst tool. This tool helps almost 90% of the routing solutions of my work. **What do you dislike about Esri ArcGIS?** Sometimes I feel the modelbuilder in ArcMap ( one of the platform that I do the map most) is a bit buggy. Although it's a tool that help with recording the whole process, it has a limit of usage. **Recommendations to others considering Esri ArcGIS:** Before using ArcGIS suite, it would be better to know how to use its tools. For that, in ArcGIS, users can easily find the usage of every single tool. I am providing a business locating strategy for the business. I really like ArcGIS. It combines the most useful and essential tools together that benefits my work and shorten my working time. First, I can easily use its conversion tools to convert the original datasets to my working geodatabases. second, I found it helps me with almost spatial analysis, network analsis and georeference the aerial photos for my project. We are able to quickly identify if a student lives in zone or out of zone since we have all of the County Tax Maps imported to our system. **What do you dislike about Esri ArcGIS?** The companion software that our Student Services department uses for map lookup can be a bit clunky at times and requires a lot of resources for the size of our district map. Coming to the ESRI UC Showcase, you see the wide use of ESRI products from local government water, energy, conversation, resource management to military and intelligence support. I like the ability with ArcGIS Online to create web maps and share them with the public. **What do you dislike about Esri ArcGIS?** There is little to dislike.
