With this, we will be able to get full knowledge if the prospect employees knows the actual skills that we need from a candidate. **What do you dislike about eSkill?** The only downside is the credit. We do not have an unlimited credit and it is challenging if we have a higher turnover than before, which we will have to use up the credit before the expiration date. **What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to hire a candidate with the right skills and get an affirmation that the candidate that we are looking for does not lie about their skills. There is one time where one of candidate said she is strong in excel. When I tested her, she did not do so well and she sent me an email to confirm that she might not be as good in excel as she thinks she was. ### 10. No need to communicate results to HR, they already have them. **What do you dislike about eSkill?** It stores all of the ids and there are hundreds of pages of them. Need to be a filing system of some kind. Also, when searching for an id using the Find function, it adds 2 characters preceding the search criteria when you paste that you have to go delete or there are no search results. Currently, I have to change the number of ids on the page to 200, copy and paste the id I am looking to mark in the search, remove the two characters and then search. If its not on the current page it doesn't find it and I have to select the next 200 and then go back to the search field and hit enter again to search. When I find it and mark it and hit submit, it returns to the home page displaying 25 ids or whatever its starts at, so I have to go through the same search process for each id. As an agency recruiter, we sometimes get requests from clients to test our candidates and it became much easier after getting eSkill. **What do you dislike about eSkill?** The interface can be a little bit overwhelming before you get the hang of it. We ran into an issue where a test couldn't be saved because we didn't enter the title as the first step. Even after filling it in at the end, it would not work and we were told that it has to be done first (but eSkill doesn't prompt this). **What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?** eSkill is allowing us to provide greater value to our clients. As agency recruiters, we are able to back up the skills that we are claiming our candidates have (based on what they tell us) with actual proof. ### 12. It's straight to the point. I like the new time frame that was added. I have not used this program to its fullest potential, to be honest. For a while, if you searched for a candidate by name it would not work. Someone could only be searched using their email address. I also wish there was a way to have a better way to show the emailed invitations that were sent out. **What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?** We normally use a data entry assessment for our more technical roles. It does help to screen through candidates and see who would be a better fit. We get this sent after the phone screen and before the 1st round interview. ### 13. This allows me to create several tests per role to make sure there's a rotation and the test doesn't get to be common knowledge. **What do you dislike about eSkill?** The fact that it can only handle 39 requests per minute when using via our ATS, Jobvite, and that a percentage of people don't receive the test when sent via jobvite so you then have to manage manually. **What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows us to administer a short initial test to gauge basic knowledge and understanding of a particular subject. We had to quickly shift our testing to an online format and e-Skill offered all of the solutions that we needed: virtual & valid test options, easy & quick implementation, and a responsive & caring customer service team. Working with them over the past two years has been a wonderful change. It has significantly reduced our response time to candidates and, as a result, our time to fill positions. It has given our HR staff back precious time, previously spent on proctoring and scoring, for essential tasks such as Co-VID tracking and other special projects. We are grateful to e-Skill and would recommend them without hesitation. **What do you dislike about eSkill?** When we first started with eSkill their library was limited. As a new hire, I was able to self navigate on my own. **What do you dislike about eSkill?** We should be able to create a custom user login for each HR analyst and have our own personalized portal. Maybe allow us to create a job posting bucket which would allow us as HR analysts to keep track of a group of applicants more clearly, without having to search manually? We would still have the overall results feed into the larger database, but the bucket group would be useful. Another idea is that when I create a job posting bucket, I can set the passing grade and as the results come in, the site would simply show me who is qualified and who is not without clicking on the scores. We could even add the expiry date needed for the last score based on when it was taken. **What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?** To meet the organization's need to test applicants and to ensure they meet the requirements needed for the job postings. It helps us to simply draft emails to candidates using templates. It asks us a quick database for us to look up the score for candidates applying for jobs. ### 21. The library of Topics and questions is also pretty vast. First for the multi-tasking questions I would like to have an option to increase the time allowed for each step. It seems a bit rushed for some of them. I would also like to see a version that is more compatible with mobile devices. I have had a few candidates start assessments and have to stop because the words/Tasks became too small to complete. This causes issues since the link is for one-time use only. **What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?** eSkills is helping us to solve issues we had with new candidates that lacked basic technical skills. Which allowed me to hone in on making a test that tested a large variety of skills that better suited the specific job I was testing the candidate on. **What do you dislike about eSkill?** I disliked how limited the questions were. In some cases when looking to select questions on a subject I felt that the questions were extremely easy and could have been slightly harder to gauge true knowledge on some of the subjects. **What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem that eSkill is solving is testing/creating the second level of candidate screening that allows for us to see if the candidate is capable of excelling at the job they are applying to. I like the fact that I can create my own assessments that are tailored to each specific program I am recruiting for. It is very easy to use and the reporting feature is very helpful in determining if I need to swap out questions. **What do you dislike about eSkill?** My only pet peeve with eSkill is that it logs me out after a certain amount of time, it is a program that I use many times throughout the day and would love for it to keep me logged in so I do not have to reset my search settings each time. **What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?** eSkill is solving a need to determine if candidates have the skills and problem-solving abilities to handle the positions I am recruiting for. This benefits me by allowing me to have candidates answer different problem solving questions, general customer service questions and so on in their own time. This in turn provides the candidate with a more relaxed environment to give them time to think about their answers, it also shortens the length of the actual interview because I have already been able to address many of the questions I would like them to answer. ### 26. Let's say you want to test someone's Customer Service Skills, they give you a bank of 50 questions and you can choose the ones you like. They also have easy, medium, and advanced questions. **What do you dislike about eSkill?** It's not that I dislike anything but I do wish their computer simulations were a little smoother. Rather than being a true simulation where the test taker performs the task on screen, there is a screenshot where you answer questions about how to perform the task. **Recommendations to others considering eSkill:** Eskill is easy to use right out of the box. They have a large question bank for each skill you are trying to access. It has also been helpful to have a question bank so that we are able to choose questions to put together new tests with questions that we prefer if needed. The email notifications are great and results for completed assessments show up instantly in our inbox. We haven't had candidate complaints about the tests aside from some small questions. **What do you dislike about eSkill?** We have been finding that the standard Filing test and the options from the question bank do not provide us with accurate scores reflecting the skills and capabilities of our candidates. Even our administrative team has found the test challenging, including the "beginner level" questions. We were advised that other clients were not having this similar issue and coming to a solution has been challenging. Our account manager has been open to discussing options and that has been great, but would increase the cost. Additionally, the tests are evidently skewed towards the US. As a Canadian company, this results in some of the questions not being directly applicable to our candidates working in Canadian industries. As a result, we don't currently have access to the best options for testing our candidates ' knowledge and skills, though we do have good assessment options. We understand that the Author function to write our own questions would be an addition to our current subscription and would incur additional charges, and this is something we are considering.
