I particularly like how easy it is to deploy across Windows, Mac, and servers using ESET PROTECT. It’s a clean console and you can easily view your environment but it doesn’t clutter up information either. What’s more, I like the patch management, device control and sandbox analysis because it really allows me to calibrate the security policies without screwing up daily operations. Adding some actionable metrics that correlate vulnerabilities and endpoint coverage would make the dashboard very customizable. Occasionally, I have had some false positives, adding a bit of noise and taking some time to sort through them. I appreciate ESET PROTECT for providing a centralized management interface that allows monitoring the security of multiple endpoints. Without this solution, it would be difficult to gather information about various events. I particularly like the ease of use. The ability to schedule tasks even when the client is offline is very practical. Likewise, device management and task management are valuable as they allow viewing hardware and software from the respective devices, and the various ESET products can be activated or deactivated on the clients. License management and the definition of tasks, as well as the creation of different triggers, are also useful features that I highly value. The powerful reports are also a very successful feature. Patch management should be improved. A specific problem is that patches for Windows Defender are displayed, but they cannot be installed because ESET is enabled on the endpoints. This raises the question of why these patches are displayed at all if installation is not possible. Another shortcoming is patching the operating system like Windows 11. Vulnerabilities are displayed, but it cannot be determined whether there is even an attempt to install patches.
