I completely forget I have it running on my computer. It requires a manual install on a user's computer. I like how I can log into the user interface and see everything at one place. It seems to be easily utilize through the GUI and I like the extra tools that you provide. I would however like a periodical email update of my server condition. **What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?** My hyper-v host server had the software on and it literally ate up all my memory I had to take it off. I placed in a support call and they help me take it off but my server without reboot after that. It was a real mess. I was advised that I could go to a current version and thus known bug would not happen anymore but I was too apprehensive to do that. I noticed that if my Windows updates are not up-to-date it seems to leg. I do those updates at least once a month. I like how it updates itself. From the dashboard I can easily see the status of all clients, whether local or remote, to make sure that compliance with our settings is being achieved. I can easily click through the various tabs of the dashboard to check status on virus rejection, attempted firewall intrusions, software version compliance, and suspect files that have been uploaded to ESET Live Grid and Dynamic Threat Defense for further examination by their experts. **What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?** I don't really dislike anything about ESET PROTECT, which is why I keep renewing protection for our company year after year. Years ago the console was much harder to use and evaluate what was happening, but with the latest releases I find it easy to use. The administration console is fairly easy to use, thought there is a process to most tasks. It does a great job at handholding some of the more "adventurous" users with warning screens and filters. The product stays up to date, sometimes the client software received new definitions several times a day, and upgrading the client install is easy to do remotely. Support has been great and has been able to help or resolve any issue we have brought up. **What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?** Some of the tasks can be a bit cumbersome to setup and ensure that they run. Additionally, when we first setup ESET AV we had to disable some of the Outlook features because it was really slowing down mailflow. **What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using ESET as our primary AV on both office PC's and on our Terminal Servers. It detects malicious emails and removes them before there is even a chance of opening it. It also blocks access attempts in real time and notifies you of the blocked event. Customer service is very helpful when renewing licenses as well. Overall, the software is some of the best I've used in terms of ease of installation, ease of customization, and is better at finding and eliminating threats. As the only IT professional in the building, it puts me at ease knowing its monitoring threat potential 24/7. Its so well liked that I personally use it on our home devices, including Samsung phones and my coworkers use it personally as well. Esets other security programs are also very useful like cyber security pro. **What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?** It slows down MAC OS at startup and with MACs continuous OS upgrades, Eset sometimes lags behind and causes functional issues on the MAC OS. On windows there are no complaints at all. I dislike that true updates must be manually downloaded from Esets website when a new version is released. This is required even when automatic updates are enabled. **Recommendations to others considering ESET PROTECT:** My recommendation is to stop waiting because your wasting valuable time when threats could be attacking your system at this very moment. Our server is protected from intrusions and those attempting to steal our data. Its a comprehensive security system that can be easily tuned for max performance. The benefits are if a virus does break through it is quarantined right away and disposed of. Emails are sent out from Eset with tips and tricks as well as webinars and information about new threats and when patches are expected for release. Pretty light on resources as compared to some other apps out there and the overall speed is good. **What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?** Management interface / license management is absolutely terrible. It gives good info on the main screen but trying to do anything else is next to impossible. They have one role for license administrator, one role for management and then a separate role for whoever installs the actual license on the client. They can't all 3 do the same thing and there have been times I've had to login as multiple people just to remove an old PC from the license list.
