The notation support (IE, IDEF1X) covers what most teams actually need, and the model comparison/merge feature has saved us more than once when two people worked on the same model in parallel. Once you get past the learning curve, the interface is pretty intuitive for complex schemas. **What do you dislike about erwin Data Modeler?** Licensing cost is the elephant in the room — it's hard to justify for smaller teams or occasional users.
