"ER/Studio Data Architect Professional - Bugs and Bugs ... Low Quality Support, Outdated, Expensive"
2.5/5
What do you like best about ER/Studio?

Easy to learn and use, wide database support. Has a robust data model version control. Client interface is very customizable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ER/Studio?

A lot of bugs, specifically with databases like Informix and Apache HIVE. Based on a 3 years of experience technical support representatives are not very professional, even with the vendor's Platinum support subscription. Overall, the tool is failing to stay current and up to date with the latest technology trends and features. Data lineage feature of the tool is very cumbersome to use and does not have automated data lineage harvesting (or reverse-engineering of the data lineage). No API support to extract the metadata or to import new data models. No automated functionality to auto catalog new data models or data model objects. Data model printing does not support PDF format. Data model printing and sharing is difficult overall. Bugs with data types. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"ER Studio is best of breed data modeling tool"
5/5
What do you like best about ER/Studio?

ER Studio is not only a comprehensive and robust data modeling tool - but it is designed and developed by a team that clearly understands data modeling needs and industry trends. A long time ago CA's ERwin was the tool of choice, but these days ER Studio provides as much or more functionality with a much clearer vision or product strategy. It also generates some of the best DDL from a data modeling tool - often requiring zero changes or modifications before executing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ER/Studio?

there are a few too many "editions" - it ought to all just be one inclusive offering Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
