What do you like best about Epicor CPQ?

The platform allows you to customize every facet of your configuration experience. The biggest selling point for us was that, as a platform, and not just an app, we can build a solution for one part of our business and then leverage that build to execute for another business or even white label for a B2B customer.

After initial integration work, the ability to leverage their snap language to have more of an admin vs. a developer administer and build business rules for the tool saves time and money.

Their training and responsiveness has been very good. They executed a high level, in-person training for our team that offered both theory and practical exercises to help us understand the full scope of possibilities of the software and integration capabilities with other systems. What do you dislike about Epicor CPQ?

Early on we had some issues with the 3D asset pipeline and getting what we needed quickly. They worked through the issues there. I think our issue was fairly unique as we have a product that is very complex to model compared to many consumer products like electronics.

Do no expect them to offer creative or UX services. Their configuration engineers do some of this but they lean on you as the client or a 3rd party to build the design aesthetic of your interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Epicor CPQ:

The sky is the limit with the software. Ensure you have dedicated in-house resources focused on fully understanding and product managing the tool to get the most out of it. If your CPQ needs are simple the toolset may be too expansive for your needs. If you could leverage what you build as a POC and execute multiple configurators across business units you will see a lot of efficiencies using this one platform. What problems is Epicor CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are doing nothing less than revolutionizing the way our customers visualize, configure, and buy customized headwear. Outdoor Cap is a B2B company and we now have a next generation tool our customers can easily use to generate stunning custom designs much faster than we could have build them for them. What do you like best about Epicor CPQ?

KBMax has one of the most robust documentation wikis to help with anything within the system, and the support team is super smart if you ever get stuck and need to submit a ticket. The development workflow and version control processing is built-in and very easy to use. Beyond the visualization capabilities, KBMax has excellent integrations with Salesforce, AutoCAD and Solidworks for lots of different output workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Epicor CPQ?

The underlying code for customization and configuration uses a SNAP rules engine developed by Google and is easy to use once you get familiar with it, but I find there's a bit of a learning curve to adjust to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ensure you have a clear understanding of your full workflow requirements and documentation of your product rules it will help the KBMax team guide you through the implementation process more effectively. We are making it easier for our customers to configure several of our most customized products in a virtual and self-service way. We are getting more exposure to these products and it's helping improve the design and solution process with architects and designers. While the pricing structure isn't quite aligned best for our usecase, and the professional services a bit expensive, in my opinion you get what you pay for. The service has been great, they have a very talented services team, and most importantly maybe is they've been amazing to work with. Our rep really worked with us on being flexible as we kicked off the project just before COVID-19 hit. They also have a robust API capability which is key for us as integration is key. They hit the right mark between being a fully customized from the ground up solution, and an Off the shelf platform. We get the best of both worlds with KBMAX. What problems is Epicor CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have some very complex made to order products that need to be managed across multiple channels. KBMAX is helping us streamline the configuration across all of these channels, as well as some internal order entry capabilities. What do you like best about Epicor CPQ?

Excellent CPQ that improves the experience widely in terms of e-commerce. Excellent 3D graphics and CAD modeling that makes the experience unique and complete CPQ integration with salesforce is one of KBmax's strengths and it can have a wide range of configurations that enhance the user's shopping experience. Time savings in terms of engineering services are reduced thanks to this excellent structure tool. As part of the technical team it is really rewarding to be cloud based. What do you dislike about Epicor CPQ?

It is complicated to install on Linux servers and I hope to improve the experience regarding this operating system. Editing complex assemblies can be a bit complicated with the features offered by perhaps migrating to other programs such as those offered by AutoDesk will result in better solutions. Recommended for all those companies that have commercial requirements to overcome on a daily basis. Kbmax offers an excellent CPQ solution and its 3D models as well as its integration and import with other software such as Salesforce, Inventor or Sketchup make it a versatile program that can be executed in many functions to improve the process of automated technical and business trade. It is used by the business and technology team to create business processes and products suited to the users' needs. It is quite efficient to integrate with other systems, especially the CPQoffered by Salesforce, which improves the user experience and allows us to overcome wide barriers in our field. What do you like best about Epicor CPQ?

What I like best about KBMax is how the 3D product is displayed. With some tweaking the product does look very realistic. Also, the snap code is easy to use. You don't have to be a developer to understand how the snap code tool works. The training tools provided are helpful and often updated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Epicor CPQ?

We do struggle with a few items. Apparently creating a model of a hat is difficult. Different fabric types have different attributes. Being able to capture the shading of a distressed fabric or a product that isn't structured has proved to be a challenge.

I would also say 'scenes' section of the tool is a bit more complicated and requires some studying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Epicor CPQ:

You will want to have a programmer and a database person on your team. If you have a good amount of new or discontinued products modeling can take some time and be cumbersome. The engineer assigned to our project was very knowledgeable and always willing to help. It was very obvious that the trainer (i believe his name is Kurt) loves his job. We want to give our customers the ability to view the product three dimensional. Our hope is this will reduce the amount of physical samples being produced.
