I haven't seen any online 3D visualization that comes close to speed and reliability of KBMAX. **What do you dislike about Epicor CPQ?** Haven't found anything yet. With those rules coded into KBMax, we can focus more on what we want, and less on "are we allowed to do that?" **What do you dislike about Epicor CPQ?** Some people didn't like how the system requires Silverlight (a web add-on, like Adobe Flash). It would be nice if it didn't require this other software. Our company allows Silverlight, but maybe some other large enterprise-level customers would struggle with another piece of software installed on their user's workstations. **Recommendations to others considering Epicor CPQ:** When selecting a vendor, keep in mind not only their technology but also their team. We've had a great relationship with KBMax (they're responsive and collaborative) and it's been consistently great for years. **What problems is Epicor CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're trying to quickly build and price unique systems... where each customer can build an assembly that's never been seen before. This isn't just customization... it's complete construction. Previously, this required much more time to have drawings approved -- now with the logic in KBMax, anyone can see instantly what can be constructed, and what cannot. **Official Response from Kris Goldhair:** > Hi Kirk, Thanks for the informative review. Serves the needs of our staff, customers and engineers. **What do you dislike about Epicor CPQ?** Can be slow to generate PDF files. Sometimes network communication between servers gets slow/lost (this is probably more our company's problem than KBmax). **Recommendations to others considering Epicor CPQ:** Define your design rules thoroughly and completely. KBmax can implement them, but they need to be complete and bullet proof. **What problems is Epicor CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** We allow our sales force to customize products directly with the customer eliminating the need for engineers and designers early on in the process. KBmax allows sales to get a CAD quality drawing, ready to present to the customer in a matter of minutes. ### 4. I also dislike the period in which there is a low internet connection so it's not possible to use the configurator at its best. **What problems is Epicor CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easier way to receive order by customer. ### 5. Wish building a configurator did not require any technical skills so that business could build them. **Recommendations to others considering Epicor CPQ:** If you want an innovative company whose employees are truly experts and actually provide the level of support other vendors only talk about, the company is for you. **What problems is Epicor CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have several product lines which are configurable or customizable. The tool helps motivate Sales to use standard components and in some cases creates the CAD drawing which together free up Engineer time and allow us to save money and get products to customers sooner. ### 6. Sometimes I can wait up to 20 minutes for the completion file.
