## Epic Reviews
  ### 1. EPIC is epic!!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** muhammad siddique k. | Fellow, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

it is very user friendly and pretty everything is really easy to access. Writing notes or putting orders, all of it is quite easy to understand for new users.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

nothing in particular so far. It is working great!!

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially we had a different software and was pretty old so had many problems with trouble shooting but with this new updated software, it has been quite easy to function on a busy day.

  ### 2. The mean machine!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

SO MANY OPTIONS. So many ways to do things. I was still learning tricks!

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Layout and colors are an eyesore. Not fun to look at all day.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

have time and patience. Be willing to learn. EPIC is always trying to improve things!

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none that I am aware of

  ### 3. Excellent EMR Program

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron B. | Staff Registered Nurse, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2017

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic is a fast program - pages load under one second and are easy to switch between. Easy to navigate - everything is appropriately labeled. Generally user friendly - tasks are laid out in an intuitive manner. Appearance of the system is very up-to-date and refreshing. Charting is continually saved. Able to switch easily between tasks without losing any data.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Redudency in the system - a lot of the same information in different places; interface can be very busy and distracting. Certain tasks can be hard to find initially, but after several days learning the system, it becomes easier to navigate.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Highly recommend Epic as an EHR.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using EPIC as an EMR. Primarly responsible for charting and reviewing hospital patients. EPIC is excellent for charting and contains all the patient's information on one system and is easily accessed quickly.

  ### 4. It's a good change

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gordon S. | Registered Nurse, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2017

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Ability to access records across modules, and via CareEverywhere, you can access records from outside facilities instantly

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There are a lot of customization and would need quite a bit of collaboration with front line user so the final product is useable. It is definitely a bit tougher for in-patient side of things.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

I would say if your facility is considering EPIC, you do have to plan to have a good internal team to handle the implementation as well as ongoing support It is not a system that you purchase and expect the vendor handle your needs. Its more like Train the Trainer. So your IT team will pretty much handle all aspects unless it is something bigger.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improve ability to drop charges. So far, users were able to do it with more ease compared to our previous system.

  ### 5. A lot of problems and no help

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The whole system integrates scheduling, charting, and a lot of other tracking into one. We are able to communicate with any other provider that uses epic in any state.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Little to no support, training was limited and did not explain the system at all. It was slow and did not have everything up and running ready to go.. not on the first day.. not even the first month. It has taken 3 months to be semi functional. And the fact that it is not a web browser type and is a program makes it more difficult to swap back and forth through other programs

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

If you are able to withstand a lot of backlash from employee when switching and having a LOT of issues when it rolls out with little support, then maybe this will work for you. It really does help put everything in one place, and makes charting so much easier.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to track and view across all the hospital and pharmacies.

  ### 6. Easy to learn and easy to use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda J. | Patient Service Representative, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2017

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like that there are several different ways to do certain things. I also like the customization aspect that was included in this last update. This allowed me to move buttons around and utilize the buttons I use more often.

I also like the ability to pin frequently used sections under the Epic drop down menu.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I dislike that when scheduling patients for appointments in Epic we run into the problem of two patients being scheduled the exact same minute. This ends up double booking the provider, thus causing problems all around.

On the other hand, it does come in handy to be able to schedule in someone's chart while someone else is scheduling a different appointment.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling patients for appointments as well as checking them in and out for appointments. It's quick and easy to access.

  ### 7. EPIC Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The interface is really great, easy to organize medical information. The charts are all live so multiple healthcare providers can edit the same chart. This software encourages integrated teamwork and collaboration. Customer support is great, with real IT techs here to answer questions.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

You must log in, and then sign in. If you forget to sign out, your name is still on the board as present at work. Some users are not allowed to edit certain parts of the chart, which may be an easily fixed setting in the software.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are streamlining the patient care flow in the hospital using EPIC. The charts of our patients are now live and accessible to other specialists and healthcare providers who wish to view the charts from an another facility who also uses EPIC

  ### 8. Patient Care Rep User

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie C. | Patient Care Representative, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2017

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It flows easier with the new update. You can easily add in new insurance and verify coverage for the patients. Fairly easy to input information for new patients to the system.
Love how easy it is to find patients in the system.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There seems to always be an error when adding in a work comp and doesn't seem to catch that we have filled out the information correctly. Always flags and says you haven't filled it out correctly.
Also when scanning in documents while checking in patients there doesn't appear to be away to delete old insurance cards out of the system which makes there chart appear congested.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Takes several days to figure out but once you remember all the functions and paths of how to get where you want to go it flows easy!

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily transfers from one doctors office to another allowing patients a faster check in time.

  ### 9. Does the job....

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic has access to many platforms so it allows all disciplines (PT, physicians, radiology, admin team) to all use the same EMR to document.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The look of it is outdated. There are things in Epic that negatively effect overall hospital flow, like an ER doc being forced to assign a patient a bed before a hospitalist can be assigned to see the patient and decide whether or not to admit.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hospital management

  ### 10. User friendly EMR

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic not only allows for increased interoperability but also allows clinician's the functionality capacity to document pt care in an optimal and user friendly way.
This system also closely aliigns itself to store all data necessary to core measurement and compliance regulations mandated by both state and CMS.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

To new users it can seem over whelming due to the multicity of functionality contained in one screen.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Meering compliance bench marks and meaningful use/quality measure readiness.

  ### 11. Epic is EPIC!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

This software works so much better than PCC. Minimal glitches and a more user friendly interface

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Nothing. It doors exactly what it is supposed to do without issue

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Best option for EMR.

  ### 12. EPIC

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2018

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EPIC allows the people on my team to communicate and to provide maximally efficient care in our setting.

  ### 13. Team lead

  ### 14. Client Service Representative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

User friendly and easy to navigate! Able to quickly and efficiently print records as needed.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It logs you out too quickly when not in use.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly accessing medical records for patients.

  ### 15. Glitchy, Yet Powerful

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The ability to effectively navigate through multiple healthcare provider schedules.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

How it closes sometimes out of nowhere, or how when you click to enter text you need to minimize and restore it again to start entering text.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sending messages to providers to let them know what needs to be done to meet the patients' needs, schedule appointments, cancel or re-schedule them.

  ### 16. The best system for EMR

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** karen g. | RN, Hospital & Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Easy to navigate thru the screens. VERY user friendly. Charting is fast and easy. You will not spend a lot of time doing your assessment which leaves more patient time.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

When I had a NAS baby, I had to search for the Finnegan Scoring each time. I couldn't figure out how to have it populate on my regular charting. The system only lets you have 3 charts open at a time. I would like to have more open at once.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

The easiest EMR to use. Many hospitals are using or going to use this product. Even the non computer physicians told me Epic was much better than the previous system.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Epic lets me, as a nurse, spend less time on the computer and more time with my patient. I can actually talk to my parents and educate them like I want to, not when I've caught up on my charting.

  ### 17. Epic review from a pharmacist

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erika Bailey K. | Clinical Pharmacist, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The order sets that were built into Epic for very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It was difficult to see a lot of clinical information while verifying orders.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No business problems solved - used in healthcare field.

  ### 18. Epic Hyperspace

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It is easy to use once you learn. The technology is amazing. I LOVE how you can streamline a patients care with all of the available options. My chart is by far one of my fav features. The patient can take his chart and medical information wherever he goes. Immediate release of certain lab test and results prevent a letter or a phone call saving time. I love the smart phrases and text, ,reducing repetivive typing and tasks. Overall, EPIC's potential far exceeded my expectations and I hope that the product keeps developing and updating to meet new standards.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

it is not user friendly for older users.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Just take your time getting to know the build of it. It is great and simple to learn once you get the feel of it.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlined care for all patients

  ### 19. Epic Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It is very easy to use and easy to learn. Amazing all the features that are available

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I find that it is very slow at times and will crash on occasion

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping find patients beds through our health system

  ### 20. Good System but Not User Friendly

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It is a helpful and informative system but (see dislike)

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It is difficult to use and is not very user-friendly/is hard to adjust to

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Good system just definitely has a learning curve

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better patient care with better records

  ### 21. Epic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I have been using epic software at work. It is user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Nothing. Maybe during downtime When we have to do paper charting.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing that I can think of. I like using epic software.

  ### 22. Epic is a great way to coordinate patient care!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I love the ability to share patient information across health care systems. It's pertinent to be able to share patient information and coordinate care across multiple providers. Epic is a way to centrally locate all patient health information: registration, scheduling, clinical documentation, lab results, etc. Epic has multiple modules for every area of health care: inpatient, ambulatory, billing, etc.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The documentation on Epic's website isn't always complete. From an analyst standpoint, the documentation isn't always step by step.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

When implementing Epic, make sure you have a large enough team with a solid understanding of Epic to complete the work. It's not worth it to have a lean team. Invest in your teams.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am certified in the EpicCare Ambulatory, Healthy Planet, Security, and Resolute Hospital Billing for Single Billing Office. I have solved multiple problems from population health management to implementing new providers on Epic to improve their workflows and documentation.

  ### 23. Epic...is Epic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I have used EPIC for 3 years now after switching over from LMR. It is by far the best! I love how it remembers my key strokes when typing up letters so that I don't need to have everything done over.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The only thing I dislike is that when you are searching a patient if even one thing is out of place you they cannot be found.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

GET EPIC!! epic is the best thing since sliced bread.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solve patient care problems with Epic. It is must easier to communicate with them.

  ### 24. medical records at your fingertips!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

being paperless is huge for our organization and being able to share with hospital partners

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

the upgrades still seem to cause issues for us and we don't do a ton of customization

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

paperless environment
MR on the go
Patient portal access
Patient portal access via mobile

  ### 25. The best EMR I've used.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura D. | Physician Assistant, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2017

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic is intuitive, loads fairly quickly, is easy to learn and easy to use. After becoming proficient in this software, you will continue finding new features that speed your work flow and make you more and more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The newest update changed the default colors and fonts, things are a bit more difficult to read now, but personalizing your settings can remedy this.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

learn the software - it doesn't take long. Then you will keep learning about ways to be more efficient for literally YEARS!

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work at a busy ER and we use Epic from the moment patients check in, to nursing triage notes, ER care including labs and imaging, inpatient notes/procedures, and outpatient care. Having everything in one place increases our efficiency - I can easily look up notes from a patient's previous visits to the ER or clinic, see their surgeries, read procedure notes and see old labs.

  ### 26. Epic-management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like that it is so easy to use and navigate

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I dislike the speed when you try to load

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it for patient care

  ### 27. Epic Maestro Care Rocks!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Dynamic software but easy to manage and flexible

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Frequent updates without detailed demos to inform users

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No more medical charts and better patient care

  ### 28. There's definitely room for some changes...

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

First off, Epic EHR is like, the best way for healthcare providers to connect in regards to patient profiles. I particularly think the InBasket feature is the best method of contact, especially for busy providers.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

One thing I think could be streamlined better is what is 'searched' through when looking for a particular word when looking at a patient's snapshot.
Also WHY DOES IT LOG YOU OUT SOOO QUICKLY!

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For my personal use of epic, I believe that the Essex would be enhanced if it forced providers to provide an associated medical diagnosis as to why they prescribed or discontinued a certain medication. From the pharmacy standpoint, this would streamline the prior authorization process.

  ### 29. User friendly, detailed

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The ability to be as detailed as possible in assessment and care plan

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Due to high details, it can feel overwhelming and like there is too much information to navigate

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving less useful and cumbersome EHR hiccups by its own useful tracking and high intuition

  ### 30. Good experience overall

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Very smooth and efficient to use. Easy to write notes

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Nothing to dislike. Epic is one of the best

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Writing hospital notes

  ### 31. Charting on Epic

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

ease of use, convenience, shortcuts to typing, tips on the right hand side of the program

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

can be tricky at first, but training helps and is required, the program has a lot of tools. epic could be better at having a 12 hour synopsis of a patient’s health status

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it helps with tracking the health and progression of a patient during their hospital stay, also alerts of any external interdisciplinary tasks the patient has scheduled like x ray, CT, etc

  ### 32. New update is pretty

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Customizable links to exactly what I want to work with

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Auto logout makes me crazy. I know it's for security but. It's so quick

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gathering health and patient informatio for insurance purposes

  ### 33. Better than other EMRs I have used.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah V. | Staff RN, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Charting is fairly self-explanatory and navigation is intuitive. Medication reconciliation is quick.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Sometimes takes multiple clicks to get to a freetext area. Doctors notes automatically draw in a lot of unneeded info. Inputting surgical history is confusing as many basic procedures are not there. No ability to free text nursing surgical or medical hx without putting it under 'other.' Going through scanned outside documents is awful.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using this in an ambulatory pre-surgical clinic within a large hospital. It's easier and safer to have everything at the click of a few buttons with easy to read text -- don't have to decipher handwriting or go through fifty pages to find the lab results I want.

  ### 34. Great system

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic is really fantastic and has a lot of great uses in the clinical setting. The software allows for multiple ways to complete charting and also has easy-to-use features for referrals, messages, and more.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The program can be a bit cumbersome to learn and while I enjoy finding new and faster ways to complete tasks, it's a lot to learn at once.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to communicate with my colleagues easily and send messages regarding patients in a quick manner. This improves communication and improves patient care.

  ### 35. Epic is a good Med Records system, not perfect, but which one is?

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I liked that it was easy to learn and that it was quick to get to the patients info I needed

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It crashed a lot and was temperamental.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

It's a good program that many hospital systems are using.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hospital medical records

  ### 36. Great software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like the efficiency on everything can be done one program.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Sometimes it malfunctions and has to reboot

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great patient care

  ### 37. Surprisingly convenient

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I really enjoy almost everything about this software, but I think I greatly enjoy the ability to set your own quickphrases the best.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The search messages function isn't as simple or direct as it could be.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Use the practice environment.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Care coordination, documentation, filing, medical records, referrals.

  ### 38. Well organized EMR

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heather L. | General Surgery Resident, Hospital & Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2017

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Although no EMR is perfect, after having used several systems I have found EPIC to be the easiest and most intuitive. As a surgeon, EPIC makes it easy to navigate between inpatient wards, outpatient clinic and the status boards for the ORs. Searching for orders within the navigation panel is as easy as using google and searching for patients is simple using either the patient information, room number, provider etc.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Some of the hard stops within EPIC (areas you must fill out in order to complete an action) are cumbersome and do not align clinically with what we as physicians actually do. At my organization, we also have mobile access to EPIC however, we cannot write notes or place orders within the mobile framework which is challenging when on call.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have had several downtimes to test our ability to function within Epic's offline module which has worked quite well and prepared us for the inevitable times when Epic will be offline

  ### 39. Great and fast program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madison B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I enjoy how fast this program works and how user friendly it is.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I dislike how it crashes sometimes. Very rarely

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's very easy to go from one patient to another

  ### 40. Unsure

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like the way it's set up. It has a clean cut aspect to it, and is aesthetically pleasing.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I dislike just about everything else. I hope that the way to input information and symptoms get updated.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been using it in the emergency room, and it is nice, but the ER isn't the place to have to type out every single aspect of a patient's visit.

  ### 41. User Friendly Electronic Medical Record Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic has the options to customize features

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Specific specialty related areas not unique enough

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Use all of its features not just the basics. It has a lot to offer.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am out on site training with support staff. I notice the active problems in real time. Most users love its flexibility and how you have many different ways to do something.

  ### 42. A big step but worth the outcome

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor R. | Research Assistant II, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2017

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The interface, I absolutely love the ease of use and how, after a short training, I feel confident in finding necessary data within the EHR. I like knowing that my patient's data exists in every clinic they are seen in. I can see other important visits when they see me.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The cost. It is very expensive to switch and the costs continue. Every time a new practice or hospital is acquired, every new employee, every advanced training in Verona. Regular users don't have many options to customize and change their things. It requires expensive analysts and specially trained people to make necessary customizations.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

It will take time to recover from the costs but it is worth the ease of use, support, and patient safety improvements.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We now have one EHR for all aspects of our health system. We can query data to help with research, quality assurance and other important initiatives

  ### 43. Great experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Santhy S. | Pharmacy Intern, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It’s easy to read and colorful. Easy manageable

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Nothing for now it is working how it should

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s clear and everything isn’t jumbled up

  ### 44. Great EMR system

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I love that this integrates nearly all aspects of a patients record into one. The bright colors are easy to follow and the best part is that there are multiple ways to perform every task

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I wish the hyperlinks were easier to see or could stand out more

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is need for less systems all together. We use to use multiple systems for each patient that didn’t always communicate and now we just have Epic. It saves time on our end and the patients as well as money

  ### 45. EPIC for RNs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2017

**What do you like best about Epic?**

There have been many changes made since I have started using epic some I have liked and some I have not but one of my favorite things that changed was it allows you to customize the way you organize things. You are able to pick tabs that you use most frequently which makes charting more convenient for you. I also like the fact that it is set up so it is easy to chart the normals on patients & you don't need to chart with an excessive amount of detail but you are able to add details where you need to. I also like that when our epic system has downtime they have a read only option available to double check patients medications and armbands with the chart so that we are safely able to give the medications even though we have to wait to chart it. The medications also are connected between epic & pyxis so that you are reminded what time you gave the medications during downtime when you need to chart it when the system comes back.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The only thing I do not like is not really even an epic software issue. Our PACU does paper charting but medications that are ordered still show up on the MAR as due and when the patients arrive at the floor the medications are showing up as overdue for us even though they weren't our medications to give. I think this is more of a hospital issue though than a software issue.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have an awesome new system set up through epic which is able to tell us when our patients might be at a dangerous level of infection due to their vital signs and other things that are charted. This means we basically have an extra set of eyes to catch anything that we might have missed and prevent patients from getting sicker than they need to get! It also keeps reminding you until something is done about the issue to make sure the patient gets the care that they need & in a timely manner.

  ### 46. Epic is a great platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lyndsey G. | Oncology Patient Financial Navigator, Hospital & Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like that Epic can compile a lot of information useful to my practice.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I don't think it is very user friendly. My company did not offer any training.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing information with registration. It is also impossible for more than one person to access information from the appointments screen.

  ### 47. Great for ED nursing charting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The ease of accessing and charting in patient charts.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

For floor nurses, it involved a lot of clicking buttons to complete an assessment

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Electronic health records

  ### 48. HealthCare and Epic

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

What I love about EPIC is that you are linked (CareEverywhere) to other healthcare facilities when you need medical information.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

N/A everything is good in my opinion. Especially with the new changes.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to check in patients faster and more efficient with Epic than with paper charts.

  ### 49. Very good for patient records

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Its interface is quite easy to use. Much better than the previous one we were using since this is very straightforward and user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There really is not anything that is so inhibiting to the user. One issue I might suggest to correct is when I try to get a large record of data, it often takes a long time.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

The price is a bit expensive, but if you are working for a large health system, it shouldn't be an issue.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We work in a healthcare environment so it is crucial for us to have a software we can use to access patent records. The benefits are straightforward: we get to use it and it is updated often enough to fic little issues we may have.

  ### 50. Industry standard.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I love how easy it can be to chart in Epic. The flow of patient information from one hospital to the next is so important to patient safety. I’ve used it at a small community hospital and at a large trauma center. It’s diverse enough to be customized to many environments.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There can be many different ways to do a task. Sometimes too many options can cause confusion.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

No regrets.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Definitely the sharing of pertinent information. I can say that Epic has helped me save lives. When I have a patient who can communicate, I can find everything I need in their Electronic medical record.
