I appreciate that Ephesoft Transact can automatically learn from documents and is simple to set up. It is adaptable and offers a variety of capabilities, including key value extraction, table extraction, and custom scripting, which is quite helpful since we can modify it to meet our business requirements. I like that I am able to configure practically any type of document in Ephesoft Transact; it is literally up to my imagination. All I need to do is feed a pdf or image file, and the tool learns the structure and pattern of the file. Then, when uploading a similar file, the tool is able to identify that it is the same type of document, based on the structure and pattern. It is pretty intuitive. Furthermore, there are many features for extraction. We can extract single words, paragraphs, tables, even barcodes. There are validation rules that we can set for each extracted value to ensure that the correct type of data is extracted. To then save the extracted data, the tool is able to export the data to a database. We simply need to connect the tool to our database and map the extracted values to the relevant columns in our tables. In addition to that, we can perform scripting to achieve anything else that we are unable to do in the tool. It is a really well-thought-out tool that is fairly easy to use and serves its purpose well.

The validation screen could be a bit more user-friendly. For example, the user cannot all the statuses, only Ready for Review or Ready for Validation. The documentation, while helpful, could be updated more frequently with relevant screenshots/tutorials. Readable and more accessible logs are definitely needed. The format conversion feature is powerful but it needs to allow to perform multiple different conversions for the same index field. We need format conversion for tables too. I like Ephesoft Transact has the document self-learning feature and is easy to configure. If you're looking for an end-to-end OCR tool directly from the ingestion until integration with your system I believe Ephesoft Transact is one of the best tools out there in the market. The interface is user friendly and the setup of the tool is easy as non-technical people can use do it as well. OCR quality is good and acceptable with the current market standards.
